A real whisker Wednesday - SafariLIVE Sunset - 18 September 2024

WE had an exciting Sunset Safari, Amy bumped into two male lions who appeared to be a Southern Avoca and the Kruger Male. In Amakhala, Steve had a magnificent sighting of a young male lion whose mane is just wonderful.

As for southern Avoca submitting to Kruger male - I would say this with caution. Unlike Kruger male, S Avoca has presence that Kambula males never messed with him although they met him several time yet they beat up Kruger male. Southern Avoca is not passive at all. I think he just likes the Kruger male - this is super interesting!

Southern Avoca and Mohwak are blood brothers! Both equally successful one with the brothers ruled the South and Mohawk with brothers ruled the north! We all have been hoping the two legendary brothers after all these years meet and now Southern is for first time in djuma this week just as Mohawk went to visit mala mala. Seriously- how ironic. Kruger male has had that gush since confrontation with Kamnula males end of July because Kambula started pursuing Imbali lionesses with whom Kruger male has been which lead to one of Imbali lionesses getting killed early August. Kruger male was not seen then and up until he showed up yesterday sept 17 on djuma cam. S Avoca for first time came north east on Shierly property sept 15. If these guys met and had a small confrontation before deciding to hung together it was fast and probably led to Kruger males wound reopening. Finally Amy talked about not knowing why BD male brother left him? Well on may 28 2024 this BD was vomiting just like s8 Imbali. The guides said it will be long night the next day his brother was spooked and left for thorny bush north. I think that that rangers who after posing of s8 Imbali and two Talamati Breakaways lionesses learned that they were poisoned with rat poison so they likely administered vitamin k to BD lion that night when he started vomiting green which was early enough to save his life but intervention spooked his brother who thinking he was dead left north from where they originally came from. If they were honest and administered vitamin k to s8 and the Talamati lionesses the whole Talamati pride would not have been killed off. As for Kruger male, he was the pride male of Torchwood pride. Most of those big sub boys and girls are his and a few cubs. Mantimahale who took breakaways torchwood are now pursuing the rest of Torchwood once Kruger male started hunging with Imbali pride post s8’s death last year and up until this July 2024 when Kambula boys started messing with Imbali pride as well as crossing over into torchwood property and getting attention from Mantimahale males who then are coming north for past few months pursuing them out.
