In this video, I'm finally going to tackle the question of whether you can actually save Echo 419 Foehammer in Halo 1. A lot of people keep sharing a video of someone saving her by jumping onto her pelican, but is that really possible?

Saving the pelican should have been made an extra thing on legendary in the anniversary edition. Like a wink and nod type of thing.
One thing that's always concerned me is why the two halves of the pillar of autumn - a spaceship over a few kilometres long - is held together by a 50 foot bridge??
+Thot Vanquisher Haha wow I just noticed that. I thought there was more connecting the ship above and below but yeah you're right, that single tiny bridge is the only thing holding the two halves of the ship together...

+Games For Cykits That's possible too, Cortana did mention in the first mission that the Autumn took a lot of damage to the super junction. However, that bridge there is called external access junction 4C, which implies it was intended to be accessed externally like some kind of loading bay. So it sounds like that bridge is there by design. Ultimately I think the ship is the way it is for gameplay purposes and wasn't meant to have a practical design for the Warthog run.

Sometimes in Halo games when people or vehicles go off screen, they don't always just disappear. A lot of the time, they actually just fly out of the map and crash and are just left there. There are numerous glitches in Halo 1 and 2 as well to ride these pelicans out of the map and watch them crash too.

Yeah, really. Basically just make a long video saying 'No, you can't.' And the video builds up to the possibility and he delays saying it as long as possible.
But the basic answer is: No. You can in a mod, but not in the actual game.

If/when 343 fixes the MCC, it would be cool if they put in a mod system like Bethesda did on Fallout 4 and Skyrim (NOT CREATION CLUB, THAT THING IS SHIT) so it is like a Halo Custom Edition. People could make their own mods and submit them, and people could do things like this or just any mod, really.
No Chromie Homie cool idea, halo custom edition days were fun AF. Problem is, is that today the modding scene isn't as popular.

Cool mod, it would have been nice if it was an actual official thing where you could save Foehammer, the marines would help with the last bit in the Pillar of Autumn and she was always there for you when you wanted extraction =P

Yep already made a video about that and actually yes you can if you're fast enough. Unlike most scripted events in the Halo series, those Pelicans actually rely on the banshees before anything happens so stopping the banshees will actually save the pelicans.

So basically it’s already decided that she does not survive, I feel like this really sucks but it’s also sadly true and adds to the Halo story, and a mystery solved, thank you.

u can u just gotta glitch the level piller of autumn aka the place where foehammer dies aka last mission of CE u need to glitch the level into halo 4 making that u can drive the pelican when u drive the pelican foehammer gets into the back seat and u just complete the level in the pelican because u can go to the end of the level if u fly there u dont need to go thro the halls just go arround it and there would be it u can go thro and when ur in u just ram the pelican into the point where u would start a cutscene what is the last one you will see foehammer on the longsword or what the escape ship is and she will turn masterchief after few seconds but still that is foehammer alive

Well what if you fly far away from the ship and wait until the timer stops? (with the banshee)
hey heed, on level keyes on the first halo, there's a hole where you need to fall to continue, but in the other side of the hole on the ship there are some elites and floods, can you make a video showing what's on the other side and if you can reach keyes faster with another method
I've been to the other side before but I can definitely look more into it and see what else is there.
I know I'm going to die if I jump down from a tall building, but I'm just going to try and see if I don't.

The pelican still crashes. How would Chief riding on the top of it save HER from dying in the crash?
I guess because she didn't actually die in the crash. She was killed by the flood or the covenant after the crash landing, or maybe just died when the ring blew up.

Good vid. The Pillar of Autumn has the most back-assward and overall Impractical layout. Who at ONI headquarters greenlighted this design of ship to be built?
This bridge is a good example. Why is it not covered or better yet, why is this part of the ship not filled in? What a waste of valuable space.
+The Future Isn't so Bright Yeah for practical spaceship designs, the bridge doesn't really need any windows, especially not one as big as the one on POA. It's a major vulnerability especially on unshielded ships.
It's just like saving Miraak in Skyrim. People played for hours to get to the final fight with Miraak after watching the video, but then realized it was a mod. I almost did the same thing, but luckily I read the comments before I turned on the xbox

I did make a video about it actually, it's part of my Flipping The Mammoth video and I did attempt to destroy it briefly near the end of the video but it couldn't be destroyed, though you could throw it out of the map where it pretty much disappears completely if that counts.
