@@blondestrainger oh my goodness 😳 that is horrible I can't even imagine the amount of ligament tendons nerves damaged that you will be dealing with for a very long time!! I've had to get nerves and tendons sewn back together a few times and even 15 years later still don't have good feeling in my hand. But nerves do heal it just takes a long time, I hope you make a full recovery 🙏. I have gotten bit by a barracuda spearfishing in Marathon he got me in the belly so it wasn't something he could grab onto very minor in comparison. I've seen those things cut 30 lb fish in half in one bite! Can't even imagine having one on my hand 🫣
When i was diving in the red sea, my buddy started to freak out and tried to speed swim to the surface, i looked at the direction he was looking at, and i saw three barracudas parallel ontop of eachother and the scariest part they weren't swimming, they were just floating in place like they were frozen. The one in the middle had huge teeth coming out. Thank god tho they didn't react to us.
That is a dangerous fish. My friend who is a boat hull cleaner didn’t remove her gold on her arm and got mauled by a 3 ft one had to get 20 surgeries. Imagine that one. She would have no arm !!!!!
That’s not how gills work, it’s not like a frog who breathes through a barrier in its skin and suffocates when dirt or oils block it. He may have damaged the gills by handling the fish like that, but they will heal and be just fine.
I would like ask a very genuine question. Whenever it comes to catching monstrous fish like these, aside from telling everyone "hey i did it!" as what was proven with this video, why do people feel the need to take things further? Set aside the people who fish for food, that isn't what I am speaking about.

I held him by his Gill plates not by his gills, that's the only way to not lose a arm.
I've seen them smaller than that bite 40 inch fish in half, very dangerous to handle.
