I knew if I watched out for all the properly built properties made of real stone they'd probably still be there in the later photos and in most cases they were, the only chance of them not being still there was for road widening or the building of something very important like a school etc, good film well made.
Seems strange that a lot of the buildings demolished are now just waste land or empty plots, odd as we now have a housing shortage! Great collection you've made very interesting to watch
Most of these before and after photos show the same thing, where there were once houses there are now either factory units or derelict land, its not hard to see why there is a housing shortage.
The old stuff was grotty, in a sense, I grew up in that stuff. But now it is just miserable and lifeless. An entitled and ungrateful generation replaced something with nothing.
Love it love it love it
Heyy brings tears to mi eyes i remember most of these streets.
So much more character and warmth in the older stuff ..Or am I just old now 🙂
The soul has gone; desolate.
Good video a lot of old streets now lead to nowhere so sad ☹️

Nothing strange really about the UK housing shortage....Ask silly little lord prescott why it is, if you can catch him!

One hundred years ago there was a severe housing shortage in Sheffield; one hundred years later there is still a severe housing shortage in Sheffield.

Way to take something and make it a hundred times worse. Criminal!
Depressing. The modern views are SO ugly.
Give a few days days and you’ll be dying to come back
What a depressing looking place!
