I love that this is unapologetic, Christian living. I have 3 young children 4years , 20months, and 4 months. We try to do the same! Love and prayers from Louisiana!
Just found your channel and oh my goodness, I'm so thankful! I have 4 kiddos (and pregnant with number 5) ages 7,5,3 & 1 and i have been STRUGGLING with finding a routine... I totally had a realization while watching this that I am just like you, in the sense where I've always been a priorities person.. I love the idea of a strict schedule, but I have never been able to keep it & i always feel guilt when I fail. SO this has been a breath of fresh air to me! I can stick to my priorities and just let the day flow.. whether it starts at 5am or 8 :) thank you!
So insightful & gave me a lot to think about how I can structure my own days to be simpler while also including my children in our daily routines. Thank you for sharing!
*You are AMAZING!!!!* The generation you are raising will be world changers! ❤️ May God bless your faithfulness!!! I am curious, does your mom have involvement w any part of your homeschooling since you are a second generation?
No not day to day in any way, everything I talk about and how I run my day is a lot learned from my own childhood both with homeschooling, as from the age of around 11 I managed all my own schooling, I am the eldest of 12, so I was cooking and cleaning like I am teaching my boys!
My 4 year old loves to wear my 11 year old daughters cozy pink snoopy pijamas. She also outgrew them, so my son took over. Their so warm and soft, so I just let him wear them . There is nothing to do with gender anything. Just handing down what works for him and gets to enjoy in the comfort of our home.
I cook everything by feel, I am getting there on all my recipes, slowly but surely ! I need to take the time to make it into a measure and timed recipe to share properly!
I love your videos! I homeschool 4 of my 6 kids and do things similar. I have wanted to know how to fit in sourdough to my day. I have recipes for sourdough but could you just explain the process of how you fit it in during the day and what you do with it to get it cooked and rising? Thank you so much!
Its winter here, so I feed my starter before i go to bed, around 10 pm. Then at 8 am i use the starter, make the dough and stretch and fold twice. I rise all day then when im making dinner I shape and place into banneton. I can choose to bake it then after dinner for breakfast bread or chuck it in the fridge and bake the next day!
@@thesimplemamma Thank you! A video about keeping your sourdough going and making bread would be great! I enjoy your video about homeschool and being there for your kids.
I see your kitchen lessons. Instead of using a large, heavy knife to cut vegetables, try a six-inch, serrated knife. I use them for everything in my kitchen. They can cut tomatoes paper thin, but I can draw them along my skin, and they do not cut me. I use kitchen shears for cutting meat and they do not have to be really sharp to cut well. The large knife habit is for restaurants, not home kitchens where you do not have to cut fast and have chef quality knife skills like on TV cooking shows.
thats an idea, my husband recently bought me a Japanese knife, which is a big one like I use in this video, and it my new favourite, it cuts EVERYTHING like butter. for my kids cooking though, I do use smaller knives.
The tip about not bringing the phone during school time to avoid distractions was very helpful to me.
I love that you have the boys help you with breakfast! That is such a great idea.
I love that you said that about his dress cracking up! Agree but also agree with using well what we have!
