    That’s sound is actually compression surge. Our cars don’t have a BOV from the factory, we recirculate charged air back into the system. It free noises and doesn’t rob your turbo of the much needed low rpm boost. 🤙🏽
    And great video! Glad someone got around to doing the 2.0 K&N system. Sounds great with that large filter. I’m waiting for the taketa system to ship, I preordered it months back. I have a feeling it’s not going to be as loud as your setup. I want free noises!! 🔥

    • @revmodemotorsports7142

      This intake definitely wakes up the engine bay and gives it more character. I know of someone who installed the Takeda in their Si and says the it's a very quiet system but feels a significant increase. I'll like the to try the Takeda as well, I believe is well built and might end up ordering one in the future. I can't wait to check out your video once you get it shipped.

      @revmodemotorsports7142  5 лет назад

      @@Fahrenheit_Motorsports Why is that? I hear great things about the Takeda system. My guess is that a lot of people choose a cheaper alternative (like me lol) and end up purchasing other intakes. In hindsight, the Takeda wasn't really much more expensive than my K&N.

      @@Fahrenheit_Motorsports I would be very interested to hear what the Takeda sounds like on a 2.0T every person I've come across in person and online seems to own a 1.5T :( Like I said I'm highly considering going with the Takeda just to get a comparison between that and the K&N. The sound can get a little overwhelming at times. I probably wouldn't have mind it as much if I was in my teens again lol.

    Did a little research because I'm thinking about doing this mod. Do you know the differences between the 1.5 and 2.0 intakes? They seem the same to me just need to replace some stock parts. Looks like I need to replace the plastic piece that clips onto the top front of the engine bay because the 2.0 rubber that connects to the intake is a different shape. It's really cheap from Honda too like $30. Also forgot to mention I'm thinking about doing a fully enclosed Mishimoto intake.

    • @revmodemotorsports7142
      @revmodemotorsports7142  5 лет назад

      They're two totally different designs. From what I recall, the diameter of the 1.5T is smaller than the one found on the 2.0T. I would honestly stick to an enclosed intake system, you'll otherwise experience a significant amount of heat soak.

    I have the same 2018 Honda accord 2.0t sport. I find the biggest performance difference to be in the type of fuel i use. When I use regular unleaded, the car runs just ok. When I run premium the car runs like a beast. I can definitely feel a noticeable difference in torque and acceleration. It's been my experience that cold air intakes while sounding sweet actually negatively affect performance unless adjustments are made to the ECU. This car may be different though.

    • @revmodemotorsports7142
      @revmodemotorsports7142  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the support! our engines are actually built to run on regular gas. I was too under the assumption that a higher octane helped in performance but after doing some research, and going back to regular gas I felt that my car performed much better.

    • @chuongnguyen4655
      @chuongnguyen4655 5 лет назад +2

      It is true, since you have turbo 2.0, the proper fuel is premium

    • @CFG39
      @CFG39 5 лет назад +1

      MV Gamer I only use premium and have since day 1. To me the Accord 2.0T is fast AF. Shockingly fast for what it is. I have had cars with turbo 4s, supercharged 6s and naturally aspirated V8s. The Accord 2.0T engine pulls harder from low rpms than any other car I've had and it is very linear in its response. While it doesn't have remotely as much power as some of my other cars the way it delivers its power is on point.

    • @CFG39
      @CFG39 5 лет назад

      REVMODE MOTORSPORTS FYI. The power ratings are based on using premium. Never put regular 87 in a turbo engine pushing 20psi of boost unless you want to have LSPI.

      Manuel Robles - That’s not a BOV. That sound your hearing is compression surge. Our cars recirculate the charged air in a closed system so reduce turbo lag.
      A BOV vents charged air into the atmosphere (engine compartment) for high boost applications as recirculating air would most likely destroy the engine. You could put a BOV on our cars but you’d be messing with the turbo efficiency and you’d lag until the turbo spooled on its own. We have a baby turbo is you’d notice normal power after 3500 RPM give or take.

      Thanks for the support! so technically speaking dealerships need to find a direct correlation that connects a problem to an "upgrade" on a vehicle, it really is that simple. I've never come across where a dealership will try to dump the burden on me but I would suggest that if you are still under warranty to touch base with your local dealership and speak to the service manager to get a final answer.

    No disrespect but K&N is way overpriced I’ve had my intake for my 2018 Accord Sport for over 6 months now. I bought a generic filter and a relocation piece for the maf. This costed me a combined well under $100 it’s very secure and sounds way better and is less restrictive than a k&n. I’ve owned many k&ns and would never buy own again.

    This is why i like aFe or prl better. the stock look and fitment is way more aesthetically pleasing. Looking at your engine bay and seeing that big chunk of plastic missing in front of the Intake is crazy looking to me. And the that bare open cone look is cheesy for a car not on a track.

    Never, ever install a K&N or other intake on a F/I without the ability to tune for the change in MAF voltage. While it learns from minor adjustments it can only learn as far as the stock parameters (the tables built into the ECU to control that parameter) permit.
    If you want to spend your $$$ buy this AND get a tune :) that is what the guy should tell you, but since this is merely a shameless plug for Crux and K&N i guess he left all that out.
    More air + No tune = Lean, Lean = Bad.

      Bruh, the MAF sensor won't let it go that lean, you don't have to tune a car for it to compensate for slightly more air flow. Not to mention the o2 sensors will increase fuel trim as well when they see a lean condition. In short, you won't throw a rod or produce knock from an intake.😂

      REVMODE MOTORSPORTS I think it really depends on what your looking for. Sound and performance is important for you hence why you are satisfied. Fitment and performance is really important for me so I love my aFe. I get some sound satisfaction vs the stock but because the cone is enclosed it is not as loud. But that my trade off for what’s important to me.

      I actually read on the paperwork that came with the intake and it said not for sale in CA. And I know a law was just passed that does not allow aftermarket exhaust systems. CA restricts everything.
