    The Jedi were set up in every way, when it comes to the war. When they would fight the Separatists on a captured world, even if they won, they were not able to stay and help the local populations recover. They had to hurry and move out to face the next battle.
    This caused the peoples of the Galaxy to see the Jedi as warlords who aren't helping the people at all. This was Palpatine's strategy to turn public opinion against the Jedi. Of course in his mind, I'm sure he felt he was simply showing the galaxy the true nature of the Jedi.
    After all, the Jedi were always known to have claimed to be nothing more than peacemakers on the Galaxy. Now they looked like they were liars all along.
    This war also had the effect of distancing the Jedi from the Force. This happened, in part, because the Jedi were serving the needs of the war, instead of the needs of the Force. This steady decline hindered their ability to use the Force completely.
    Weakling their powers helped Palpatine to hide in plain sight.

    • @RocketHarry865

    In hindsight, we know that the events that transpired led to the balance of the Force, with Anakin "The Chosen One" Skywalker playing the instrumental role to bring out that balance. That's not to say if Obi-Wan led the Jedi Order, this would not have happened. I'd like to think that under Obi-Wan's leadership, Anakin "The Chosen One" Skywalker would've had the support and stability he needed to overcome Palpatine's persuasion. This would ultimately lead to Palpatine's defeat at the hands of Anakin "The Chosen One" Skywalker.

    • @MrDibara
      @MrDibara 2 года назад

      @@samueldimmock694 Not harder then anything else he had to pull from the shadows with nobody noticing.
      Palpatine could easily create a situation on some battlefield (with Dooku's help) to create a tough enough situation for Obi-wan and his forces. No reinforcements under the pretense they were "unexpectedly intercepted", a lack of supplies to help the long prolonged battle, an intel from Republic intelligence that "tragically proved to be wrong", leading to further losses and a harsher struggle... all this while simultaneously opening up an oportunity for the hired Bounty Hunter to better assassinate him.
      And not only that, but also making it seem like the CIS simply hired the Bounty Hunter and the guy or girl simply took advantage of the chaos on the battlefield.
      No one would suspect a bigger conspiracy, whether the attempt was successful or not.
      On the topic of Jango Fett, *his purpose was never to kill Obi-wan, but instead to lead him to Geonosis and make the Republic aware of the CIS' army.* (so the Clone Wars could start)
      _If only good ol' Jango knew that._
      By all estimates he was caught completely off guard.
      - he was apperantly hired to assassinate a Senator, only for the whole thing to fail because of two Jedi protectors that "conveniently were present for the occasion".
      - he is suddenly visited by one of the same two Jedi that thwarthed the assassination, even though it was supposedly impossible for him to be tracked back to Kamino. _(what good fortune that Obi-wan's pal was familiar with their tech)_
      - while attempting to leave with his son before shit hits the fan, *he is once again met with that same Jedi, this time trying to apprehend him.* I honestly give Jango props here, he fought well considering he and Boba were caught unprepared while trying to leave. _(facing a Jedi is no small deal)_
      - he and his son flee to Geonosis, back to his boss, *only to find out that same blasted Jedi was on his tail again.* He tries to shake him off and kill him and is actually convinced he succeeded, _which of course was not acyually the case._
      - then of course we have the skirmish on the arena. Now Jango indeed should've been smarter here. The whole place was a chaotic mess and _at that point when he entered,_ things could've gone 50-50. *And so they did, when he flew in to disarm Mace Windu of his lightsaber, only to fail and get rammed over by a space rhino.* _(how the hell he was still alive after that will always be a mistery to me)_
      - And as luck would have it, that ramming broke his jetpack. Sadly, Jango didn't notice this and when he saw Mace bull rushing him he decided to try his luck with his marksmanship shots before bailing if things got tough. *Which didn't work, cause said jetpack got broken.* And you know the rest. _(homie probably should've gone for the flamethrower)_
      So as you can see, using Jango Fett is not an adequate argument here.
      Literally EVERY SINGLE SITUATION was against him during the events of Attack of the Clones.
      Expert Jedi killer or not, Jango still wasn't going to pull out a miracle against so many odds working *against him.*
      This is the complete opposite of my suggested idea of Palpatine setting up an entire situation *in favor* of the hired Bounty Hunter, while simultaneously creating all sorts of disadvantages for Obi-wan. Yes, it could still fail, but the chances of Kenobi dying are suddenly miles higher now.
      And as I've mentioned, orchestrating such events while making it seem like he had zero involvement is basically Palpatine's expertise. He successfully done this multiple times throught the Clone Wars.

    • @samueldimmock694
      @samueldimmock694 2 года назад +1

      @@MrDibara I'm pretty sure that's what I said. It would be difficult to engineer the right situation without anybody realizing, but far from impossible, and Palpatine is a master at such machinations.
      Based on how Jango Fett acted in the movie, I'm pretty sure he was trying to kill Obi-Wan and thought he had succeeded, though I doubt he would have made such a mistake if he'd done the sort of careful research he probably did on all his targets. I don't doubt that Palpatine manipulated events so that the Jedi just so happened to learn of the clone army and the Separatist threat, but I do doubt that Jango was aware of this. Therefore, I conclude that Jango can't reliably beat Obi-Wan in a fair one-on-one fight without favorable battlefield conditions or special tactics developed to fight Kenobi specifically (both of which he is more than capable of doing), and that Kenobi could successfully fake his death if Jango weren't at the top of his game (which he likely would be).
      When I said that Jango was already dead, the only thing I meant was that he was not available to take the bounty on Obi-Wan, so Palpatine would have to settle for a less capable bounty hunter and would therefore have to give said bounty hunter greater advantages. I did not mean to imply anything about his capability or that of Mace Windu, especially not when Windu has a Force ability called Shatterpoint which sometimes allows him to see weaknesses in things that are otherwise invisible and exactly how to exploit them, and sometimes does nothing useful at all.

Also, grievous might have a more challenging time if he's on the field because clones do not care if they kill him and the Jedi weren't killer enough. Grievous.

    The Clone Wars we think of Venators, the Original Trilogy-Imperial Star Destroyers and so forth. What I’m asking is, what if we saw an Victory class SD in the background over the battle over Coruscant, would it have changed anything in some people’s minds? I often look over Ansel Hisao’s artwork and I think, how could the Imperator class have fit into the GAR’s operational philosophy. The Jedi must have been ignorant to the fact that the Clone Wars were nearing it’s conclusion and all of that fire power and crew numbers had to seem to have dark overtones. Maybe you’ve covered some aspects of these topics but updates for old material never ends! I really believe the Jedi just couldn’t wait for the Clone Wars to end so they could go back to lounging around, eating cheeseballs and watching pod racing in the temple!

    I think it would be a net negative for Obi-Wan to take leadership of the Jedi military operations, primarily because his new responsibilities would have kept him further from the battlefield, and unable to have the operational freedom he enjoyed as a General. Like it was said in the video, he was aware of his responsibilities to his troops, so he would have been tied up with logistics, supply lines and strategy, effectively taking one of the Jedi's most gifted general off the board. I also think Obi-wan would be more susceptible to the machinations of Palpatine than Yoda, and the Sith Lord would have been able to manipulate him just as easily, if not more so, than he manipulated the Order under Yoda. Also, the emperor would definitely have exploited his relationship to Annakin, using him as either a spy or a foil against the Jedi and Obi-wan. I think at the end of the day you get the same result, The Jedi are killed off, and the Emperor ascends to power, only it happens faster under Obi-wan's leadership, not because he's a bad leader but because he's so good that few Jedi could reproduce his success as a general and diplomat, so victories he secured under Yoda's leadership would not happen under his, because he's busy in Coruscant leading a massive galactic scale military operation.

    What if Palpatine's treacherous actions were outed to Dooku and Grievous? (Killing Grievous's GF, and replacing Dooku with Vader.)
    I could see that resulting in chaos.
    Dooku splits with Palpatine and tries to take personal control of the Separatists, he outs Palpatine to the Jedi to undermine his former master, resulting in essentially a second civil war within the ongoing civil war.
    Grievous takes as much of his army as he can muscle control over and goes rogue just killing Republic, Separatist, Jedi, Sith, and everything between and beyond.
    I like to think of this all starting because Palpatine forgets his mic is still on while giving them hoody-orders.

    What really bothered me is that the fact that Obi-Wan found the clone army during an investigation on a bounty hunter linked with Dooku didn't got massive red flags for the Jedi council. How could there not be a massive investigation in Kamino, Syfo Dyas, Tyrannus. A full overview of the fabrication process of the clones by temple healers. Why didn't the council just put Obi-Wan or any other Jedi investigator on this 24/7? Surely the possibility of a Trojan horse seems more dangerous than a Jedi missing from one battlefield. I understand that Jedis like Yoda waited for the Force to give them a serendipitous revelation and Mace Windu just wanted to kick ass. However it bothers me that Obi-Wan the rational minded investigator just dropped the very suspicious series of coincidences

      I think events just overtook them. Immediately afterwards they found themselves embroiled in the greatest war in hundreds of years, and every Jedi was needed on the front lines. It's also quite possible Palpatine ran interference, creating tailored crises or assignments to Jedi that might be on the case. Maybe Obi-Wan starts an investigation, but before he gets anywhere a crisis arises on Mandalore or a nearby system that needs his attention. There's a lot you can do running both sides.

      the morality bothers me more. How conveniant that at a time of war pops up a multi milion army of "expendable" clones.
      Basically human lives made to die for someone else's battles. Lead to battle and death by peaceful protector of live- the jedi order.
      I understand from writing point of view that it was made to show how far has the jedi order fallen but the lack of thought a morality of it also takes me out of immersion when we have space monks do it. Especially Anakin, who was a slave as much as these clones are.

    What if Rahm Kota was the Grand Jedi Master? He would’ve had Jedi Masters and Padawans lead planetary militias while knights would act as commandos, intelligence officers and missionaries. He would’ve left the clones under the command of Republic officers while using volunteers and having secret redoubts for the Jedi and their allies.

    How could the clones be "more" resistant to Order 66? They had chips installed to directly carry out Order 66? Kenobi wouldn't have been able to stop the downfall of the Republic anymore than a mosquito could stop a rhino. The Sith had a plan as perfect as any created before. Turn the army against the Jedi, and if they wised up to it, claim the Jedi were trying to murder the "President of the United States", in a way. It's genius really...

    The problem here is that the Obi Wan we see throughout the Clone Wars and later is the direct result of the experiences he had from all the events that transpired. He would not have been the same Jedi had he not gone through everything he did and have all the experiences that arose from the decisions made by others. Obi Wan was forged in the crucible of those experiences. A young, inexperienced Obi Wan would not have made a good leader. He would have lacked a meaningful frame of reference.

    • @charlymaxx4318
      @charlymaxx4318 2 года назад

      Therfore he would need to be involved in the clone wars as general, getting experience on the field. This won't help the jedi and clone relations to start better or losing less troops at the beginning, but when he is put in charge the changes would be far more visible and his policies would gain more support in comperison to generations techs vision.
