The original will always be better to me has it got me through some really bad times when I felt I couldn't go on because it was one of the first songs that made me realise it's ok not to be ok and that I wasn't alone in that feeling but Ronnie has done an amazing job I do like it this version but it connects differently for me on a personal level
There is three other groups I would recommend for reactions has they all have great songs

Skillet who are classed has a Christian Rock Group but their songs although relate to religion it's more subtle so even if you don't believe you can still enjoy the songs especially the song Not Going To Die Tonight

I understand the reference to the buildings collapsing and rebuilding. That is basically each day how it feels going through emotions like this. This reimagining is pretty spectacular

The original song, came out at a godsend moment for me. I was dealing with a relapse (for lack of a better term to use) of a medical issue in my late teens that had my lungs randomly collapsing. Was in a really dark place due to the constant collapses + scars from surgeries..... the Original is what kept me from staying down and gave me the strength to claw my way back out of that pit.
THIS is how i felt when i heard the original.. THIS is what i was hearing when i heard that original song... its what gave me the courage to not back down and give up.
Yes i was 'head-banging' to the original (i even do the same to this version, just at a more sedated pace), but the feelings THIS song give.. are what i was dealing with at that moment...
3:45 = that moment when i was at my lowest during those days, literally teetering on a knife-edge ...... 4:33 + is what this song, in its original form, did for me.

Great song. Always has been. Glad to see Ronnie bring it to what it originally started on. The song was started on piano but decided to switch it over to guitar and all that. Also, knowing he(Jacoby) wrote this song for his roommate who attempted suicide hits different too. (The friend is doing great now for those wondering)

As I’ve seen a few others mention before; the original was the angry rebel teen screaming and punching the world , this version is that teen 20 yrs later reflecting on the emotional toll the world takes and screaming for that help the teen would not. This is such a beautiful ballet.

To me the songs represent different stages of grief... Original - anxiety/anger/bitterness. To me, this version is despair/heartache/paranoia.
I can't tell you how many people (me included) have said we heard lyrics we never heard before. Nothing was changed however.... Talent

The original song by papa roach helped me alot. It made me realize that i wasn't alone it literally saved my life. Then when i heard this it brought back so much memories it hit hard. Ronnie is a very talented person he made this song come alive.

They lyrical content is the same. Yes, arranged differently but the meaning and emotion is the same from a lyrical stand-point. The big difference here is piano/string arrangement vs. 90's hard rock arrangement. It'll always portray a different feeling, guitars vs. piano. Ronnie killed this, as he usually does.

Im pretty sure most of the words were original. The arrangement was different and some minor things lyrically but this bascially verbatim how Jacoby sings it.
