Alexandre Guilmant (1837-1911): Fünfte Sonate c-Moll op. 80 (1894): V. Choral et Fugue Bernhard Schneider an der Klais-Orgel von St. Aegidien, Braunschweig
I've been yearning for something that scratches the itch I have that can usually only scratched by Bach's organ preludes and fugues. I finally found it, Guilmant was a contrapunctual genius!
AMAZING!!! I have NEVER heard this piece before, but I was in tears by the time we reached the end. Excellent combination of music and organ. Klais instruments are my all-time favorite German organ.
It was the first time I heard this work by Alexandre Guilmannt, and I can say that the work and interpretation surprised me positively. Congratulations maestro!
Bravo 👍 genial gespielt - Chapeau 👍👍👍 man hört gebannt und freut sich darauf, wie Sie jeden einzelnen Themeneinsatz neu vorbereiten und einführen - absolut atemberaubend - wow 😯
Beautiful piece and well played! I like this version, Ben van Oosten played this one also in St. Ouen, but the recording of this one is better and has more clarity and articulation.
This is an awesome piece of writing matched perfectly by a flawless interpretation and dazzling technique. Guilmant is rather out of fashion nowadays because, perhaps, his inspiration isn't consistently brilliant. This section of the 5th sonata is an exception and cam stand alone as a recital tour de force.
Did you have played one concert at church S. Ignazio on Rome? Because i remember one organist Schneider on S.Ignazio organ Tamburini with 3 manuale for one concert. I was organist sometime on basilica S.Francesca romana near Colosseum.
spielen koennen. Chapeau Maestro.
This a musical Gem. Brilliantly Composed and played by this gifted Organist.

Wow! I would love to hear this played on a Cavaille Coll ! A. Guilmant is one of my favourites!

Suuuuper gespielt! Das Stück ist sauschwer. Respekt👍

Da kann ich nur zustimmen. Chapeau.
Berührend und eine Freude, zuzuhören!
This is just wonderful. A fabulous piece, fabulously played.
C'est joué avec flamme et le crescendo est parfait, notamment grâce à l'instrument. Bravo à l'organiste.Viellen Dank !
B je confirme!😊👏
Beautiful playing.
FANTASTICH danke Maestro
BRAVO for the composition & composer - for the musician - for the instrument and the acoustic in which it thrives - and to GOD who made them all.
AMEN!!!
What a majestic piece!
Exzellent
Good composition with many great soloutions. Can to bè for great basilica
or cathedral.
Congrats Mr Schneider. well interpretation. Indeed, the organ sound more german than french but your art of playing is very generous.
Masterful in every way
Heel mooie muziek, geweldig gespeeld

When I get to Germany, may I come visit you and your marvelous instrument, perhaps sit at a masterclass? Working on a project for Herkuleesaal Munich.

I'm sorry, I never played a recital in S. Ignazio.
Very nice fugue indeed!
More than "nice ", I'd say. It proves that counterpoint can convey intense emotion when structured in this quasi symphonic way.
This is a great fugue. I liked your interpretation of it as well. Any chance sheet music is available from you?
Dallin Bissett just go to IMSLP, Guilmant page and complete score
Sounds like the BWV 577 "Gigue" fugue subject.
It starts out that way, certainly (although in a different meter) but morphs into something else. I liked the subject.
The first part especially sounds like a church hymn.
great performance! do you know the name of the chorale?
As I know the melody of the chorale was newly invented by Guilmant, similar to C. Franck's Chorales.
@@BernhardSchneider1309 thank you
Whats the Name of the Choral?
It is not a certain Choral. The melody was invented by Guilmant, like César Francks chorals.

Well played. Great organ... although not sounding so French...
It's a Klais....VERY German...LOL
