Where did you learn (or how can we learn) to play such jazz improvisations? Did you learn the piece first through sheet music or is this all from ear? ~ from a classical piano player who wants to get into jazz
@@robalexnat if i may, i would start with learning the 'language' first. once you can parse what's happening, you'll be off to the races. as a classical player you probably already know a ton of theory you'll be able to apply, albeit in a different way (I had to go the other way back in school lol). daunting at first, but I'm sure you'll get it :) awesome playing btw:)
@@robalexnat One of my criticisms of classical training is that it's often just about reading music and technique but very little theory. I know many people (not pros) who can hardly play without a piece of sheet music in front of them. That's a shame. On the other hand, I took one summer of classical lessons, but after that, just taught myself but never really went back to classical. It would be nice if my reading skills were much better but unless one learns jazz and classical at the same time, it's tough to have everything under one's belt.
This was so humbly done and was such a masterpiece in understated emotions. You bring out a playful, gentle side of the music rarely heard. Its more personal, not in your face like most performers tend to lean towards. This is a great style and works very well in many kinds of music. You have immense potential. Never let anyone discourage you. Just keep playing from the heart and you will make wondorous music.

Is it? There are so many different styles of music that work entirely differently in some places. For example a major chord from the modern tuning system would sound really bright and angry rather than happy to say the Indians who are on pure tuning.
@@lakudzala195 Most pianist that are classically trained have good posture and fingering which makes their playing look effortless even though it might not be easy. A pop or jazz pianist usually doesn't take note of posture because most of the time they use keyboard and the posture won't affect the tone.
It's such a pleasure to listen, and watch a master. The complex chord inflections, the left-hand skill and musicality, the rythmic accent punches in both hands. It's a whole group on one keyboard. A great performance.

Quanta bellezza nelle sue interpretazioni, quanta percezione del suo piacere nell'esecuzione di brani che da sempre mi emozionano. Grazie!
Ronnie Woods Bellmont Sound's 🙄 Thank you for that very poetic answer but I'm sure this guy didn't play like this the first time sitting in front of a piano...Of course you have to be musically gifted at least a bit but I want to learn technical stuff like music theory (chords, scales etc.) and I was asking for any good information on that 🙃
Modal Soul Dude 😂 I play the guitar and stuff and that advise might help if you already learned all the technical stuff but I am a complete beginner at the piano so even though I feel the music and have melodies in my head I still have to learn HOW to play them, not what to. Nowbody can just sit down and play like that if he never practiced and got advise from maybe a book or stuff like that and that is exactly what I am looking for.
