A relative of ours got this due to her new born having a history were she would stop breathing when she would sleep. The newborn spent a few days in the nicu. Not sure what was the cause but her mom never felt comfortable when she would sleep. She got this and had peace of mind . She said just it was worth it. She never had another episode of not breathing while she slept but not worth the risk. Now that I have a new born we bought this and had it on the first day home. It helps us sleep a bit more comfortable. We still use precautions and check in on our child regularly but this device is worth the price.
One option for people who dislike the fact that the baby only wears the Owlet when the baby is sleeping and that a baby grows out of the Owlet so quickly is the Neebo. My daughter has a heart condition so we went with the Neebo and love it. There is no camera, but it will last up to 5 years old and she wears it unless it’s charging. I’ve also compared it to the hospital monitors and it’s spot on for heart rate and oxygen saturation.
I'm really glad they made an option that would have a starting weight of 5 pounds. I was very interested in the owlet when our daughter was born, but she was a preemie and by the time she reached the 8 lb weight requirement, I didn't really feel like I needed it anymore. This one would have given me peace of mind in those early months.
I am thinking of getting a secondhand Smart Sock 3 and was wondering if you recommend the Extension Pack which is a sock that lets you monitor from 18 months to 5 years. Do you recommend this? Also, I noticed the Cam says it can be used from 0-3 years. Can it be used longer than this? Thanks!!
Excited to see the comparison between the 2 and 3! Trying to decide if I should upgrade for our newest baby coming this winter or use our 2 that we used with our now almost 2 year old for his entire first year of life.
Hi and many thanks for such a review. But what about the combinations of socks and cams? How many babies at the same time can be monitored in the App? What if, for ex. just to put the left sock on one baby, but the right one on another? Did you or smb had such an experience?
Thank you! I absolutely loved our owlet 2 with my now 1yo and he has now outgrown it by weight. We had nothing but alerts when he hit 25lbs so I knew it was time to pack it up. Now I’m thinking I’ll sell mine and try to get the 3 for our hopefully 🤞🏻 next baby
I'm super excited for the comparison! We have the 2 and it saved my sanity and made be be able to sleep. It also saved my daughters life. The foot sensor broke when my daughter was 8 months old. We need to replace the sensor before #2 gets here. It's been a while since we used the owlet app, did you have problems with it loading and not getting a reading, we did but our router is in the basement but right below our room. We got ours as a gift, because I mean it's expensive but SO so so worth it. Trying to decide if it's better to replace the broken part ($60) or just get the 3 🤔
How do alerts work for heart rate and O2 saturation if your smartphone is in Night Mode/ Do Not Disturb mode? Will you still receive alert notifications?
Do you know if it’s possible to mount this with command strips? I just got mine and noticed it had screws. We live in an apartment so I really don’t want to drill holes. 😩
The alert parameters are dumb. The heart rate and O2 sat are way below what would be considered normal. Id rather see my baby was having breathing trouble before full cardiac arrest. Im upset we spent $400 on this. As a medic a heart rate that low is almost comical.
Is there no way to change and personalize the alert parameters to what the parent would like to see? I’m really interested in purchasing this product, but not if it only alerts me after a serious problem has already started. Thanks!
@@avocgearreviews4521 No. If you are PALS certified you realize the alerts are all or nothing…ie dead. The camera has been valuable but id spring for one with better clarity. All in all Im disappointed after 3 weeks however, I would get something.
Any luck with that? I know a lot of people were upset that the 3 came out at the same price the 2 was.. I have heard if it was past 30 days of purchase they wouldn't take a return/ exchange.
Are two people able to have the owlet app and check in when they want/need to? I’d like for my husband and I both to be able to look into the app on either of our phones if need be. Like if I can’t get to mine but he can get to his. I’d hate for only one of us to be able to use access to it
I believe they just published a blog post on their website about this because it’s a very common question! I personally kept it clean with just a baby wipe and staying on top of that. But I believe the blog post gives more cleaning info!

Happy to hear it's brought you peace!
Do you have to be in the same place or you can go to work and monitor your baby from work

Me too! So glad it’ll work for more babies💕
Thanks for this! I have this coming to me as a baby shower gift and got nervous bc the other reviews. This is super helpful
Happy to help!
Where should I keep the base? Babies room or parents room?
Have a newborn on the way, this was really helpful. Gonna go with this over the Lumi system.
So happy to help!💕
We have the 2 right now and the only thing we hate is the charging. So the wireless charging is a game changer.
Totally🙌🏻

That should be coming up soon!☺
😮 I can use my HSA card? Is this still a thing? Where do I have to buy it?

I’m sorry, I’m unsure about all of that. We only used it for one baby at a time.

Love that it goes to 30 lbs!🙌🏻💕

The comparison will be coming soon! And nope, we’ve never had an issue with the 3 getting a reading!
So I’m having a problem with the hearing on my owlet not working for background noise. any way to fix it ?
How do alerts work for heart rate and O2 saturation if your smartphone is in Night Mode/ Do Not Disturb mode? Will you still receive alert notifications?
Yes, you do! I have DND on every night and tested it to make sure we still got alarms!

Eager for your comparison video between the owlet 2 and owlet 3!
Coming very soon!

What’s the battery life like for the three? How long does the charge last usually?
I mention it in the video but it depends on how long you charge it for! More than one nights worth with a full one!
Can this be used for two babies at once? We're expecting twins
They would need separate profiles but yes, you can!
Is the sock portable to bring on vacation with you?
As long as you have WiFi you can hook up to, you’re good!
I still have my owlet 2 that I just got in the package! I’m going to exchange
Any luck with that? I know a lot of people were upset that the 3 came out at the same price the 2 was.. I have heard if it was past 30 days of purchase they wouldn't take a return/ exchange.
Christine Burnett yeah I exchanged with no problem
So does the owlet sock 3 comes with 2 socks? Also is this compatible with twins?
No you have to buy one for each Baby
KT is right. You would have the socks to use for another baby but it only comes with one monitor!
Are two people able to have the owlet app and check in when they want/need to? I’d like for my husband and I both to be able to look into the app on either of our phones if need be. Like if I can’t get to mine but he can get to his. I’d hate for only one of us to be able to use access to it
Yes! Mark and I regularly both checked from our phones🥰
Oh yes I need a comparison video!!
Soon!!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Happy to help!
How do you wash it??
I believe they just published a blog post on their website about this because it’s a very common question! I personally kept it clean with just a baby wipe and staying on top of that. But I believe the blog post gives more cleaning info!
Do you know how to turn it off when u dont have it on charging base station? Sometimes we just leave it on the table n it just stays on constantly
Do you mean the sock? I know you can turn off the base station via the app but I'm not sure that it turns the sock off. Sorry I'm not more help!
With the 2 version you can run it across the bottom of the base station.
Can you pair the cam with two phones?
Yep!
Can you use a different mount for the camera ?
My husband said it’s not a usual mount so he’d recommend just using the one it comes with it. But he said it could be possibly used with another!
Next baby I’m definitely getting the camera. I have the worst camera and I wish I had something better
How do you turn the camera off? Or does it just stay on all day everyday
You would need to power it off in the app or unplug it!
Never gonna buy the camera again its very laggy and my connection is very good
Any one know how to turn OFF sensor on owlet 3???
You can place the sensor on the charging dock, disconnect the power, or turn off the base via the app!
@@MommaAlia thanks
@@MommaAlia I did this but my sock is still lit up. Is this normal?
The owlet plus 2 camera sock and monitor combo is 299 for Cotco memebers
Where did you get the Costco member discount?
