It doesn't matter what type of wood you split. Splitting wood is splitting wood. I own an x25. Great tool for the job and well worth the money spent. Stay blessed and stay safe out there sir!
Been swinging an axe for 20 years now. The sound of wood splitting with an axe, I will never grow tired of. My goto axe is a Gransfors Bruks 28” splitting axe. Wish it had a cord counter on it!! Haven’t the heart to change the split handle yet but my lashing seems to be holding up. It split lengthwise about halfway down the handle but dang that hickory is strong. I’ve had Fiskars too. Never swung the X27 but you swing it like a beast.. keep on swinging!!!
Nice run. I've gotta try the Fiskars. Ha, only problem is, I've already got 3 mails, and 4 axes. I guess I might be able to fit one more tool in the shed. Now if I was just young enough to swing like I used to.
Vary cool David I bet yer heart rate was really hight at the end . Hard or soft wood thats prity darn good david in my book . Dont let them fool ya david yes there is vary tuff hard wood and there is vary straight grain hard wood that is vary easy to split . Espicialy green oak. Hard maple . Cheery. White ash all can be straight grained and easely split with a sweet dubble bit . When green the chopper or vary long slender head is a great choice . Be safe Love wins .
Yeah I highly doubt that! That man is a machine and he hasn’t even shown what he could actually do if he was in a race! Man has 20 years experience on me! Yeah I’m about 20 years younger but I’m pretty sure he would beat me lol
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie you “might” be right, because I’ve never seen you split green fir. That being said I’ve seen him have a tough go of it on some of his pieces those were probably closer to the stump. BUT, that’s not to say that it wouldn’t be entertaining though. What do YOU say, a fun but friendly race if it’s in the cards?
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie just don’t try any green sweet gum. Trust me on this. I’ve seen many a man plain give up on that stuff. Myself included (but I’m a chump)! And if you DO have enough power behind the axe to make it split but the wood won’t split anyway, it has showers of moisture spraying out of it. BTDT!
One hell of a work out for sure! Just discovered your videos a few days ago. I'm over on the westside in Shelton. Don't worry about the keyboard cowboys, they're the one & done crowd when it comes to real work....one swing of the axe and they're heading home, lol.
I split cotton wood with a hatchet one in each hand hahaha jk but I bet money some keyboard cowboy will read this comment and start talking lol cotton wood isn’t too bad tho I split a lot of it when I was younger because we needed to clean up fence lines that had blow down
Stringy cottonwood is nasty stuff but yeah some hot shot will use it to take a shot. Never understood why people from different regions critique how things are done by others. I don’t have a RUclips channnel but have had people question why I run a large bar on my saw. Mind you these are people who don’t run saws but feel compelled to comment lol

Cool video! I don't care if you were splitting softwood or hardwood....that was impressive!!
Thank you my friend
Now that was some serious hustle! If we had hardwood we would be doing it that way with hardwood too. Stay safe out there buddy.
Great job chopping up that wood. Made me tired just watching. Lol. Keep up the good work brother.
Thanks Paul

I’ve got same axe. Our wood in Ky doesn’t split that easy. But the X27 still works great.
Great Splitting!! Love m Fiskars!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Keep it up buddy make them firewood videos. Love the channel
Pickin them up, and putting them down cuz, good job!
Thanks Steve
Mr. David, I am a hardwood diehard...you would do just fine my friend...as we said before those in the know, know...
Agreed thanks Brian for all the love and support my friend
That Fiskars is taking no prisoners !!! Great video . I could watch splitting all day. Well done 👏
It’s a brute for sure
Good job David. That would take me a bit longer no doubt even in my prime. A wood splitter would just slow you down.
Yeah I would like a splitter for skanky fir
That was just 100% awesomeness 👌
That was a cardio for sure. Be safe and be careful
I think you did real good

It would be EXTREMELY FUNNY if you and old BBR were to have a “split off”, but I think that you would win David. 😊
