I'm sorry, but the WWE version of the Big Gold is a flat piece of crap. Fandu is definitely the way to go. Cheaper & SO much better. You can't beat Fandu. End of story.

The reason is because the Flair one is based on the NWA which didn't have the logo because it was custom made for Flair. The WWE verison was just taken the look but modified. That Flair belt is amazing.

My only issue with Fandu is the corners of the main plate are not bolted to the strap. I like the plate to be firmly bolted to the strap. Darn good belt overall!!

The original "Big Gold" didn't have a WWE logo... The original was designed by Charles Crumrine and commissioned by Jim Crockett Promotions for Ric Flair in '85. The reason they most likely get away w/ it is because the belt is Fandu's interpretation of the "Big Gold" (not exact copy) and the company is located in China making it more difficult to prosecute.

I like the detail on the plates but in my opinion the strap is to thin. Check out Paul Martin Belts and get it releather. It would give it that real feel and look to it.

Can you change the nameplate on the Fandu belt? Have you done lay-away on the Fandu site? I got an original 2mm. Figures, Inc. WCW big gold for about $50 on eBay around 2001 before WCW folded and it was god awful. The belt was as good as I could get then, but it looks so cheesy today. I definitely want to get a Fandu one sometime soon.

You can get any nameplate, but the limit is 8 characters. "Macho Man" I think I've seen works. Randy Savage would be too long unfortunately.

It’s actually isn’t even a faux leather. It’s two pieces of vinyl with a thin piece of foam in the middle. That’s why it’s so floppy

Eh, maybe fragile wasn't the best choice of words lol. The plates are just very detailed and thick, so just be careful and don't scrape it against other things or the other plates. I'm just extra careful with my Fandu Belts, because they're the most Beautiful and detailed and thick of all the belts.

@@vze21gwa I mean, just be careful. And it's really not that fragile. Like they touch sometimes but I don't see any scratches on mine yet. I just don't like the sound of them touching, but it's never really done anything bad to the belt so far lol
