WELCOME TO SOAPY WONDERLAND!!!!! Girl. You did so flipping amazing with your creations, they are sooooo cute. And heck yeah for educating yourself on superfat, and guess what? Some folks (primarily in the EU) like to do up to 18% superfat and those bars are so glorious. A lot has to do with how much water you are using too and the hardness of your actual oils. MORE ECHO SOAP MORE ECHO SOAP!!!!!! P.S. The best article on resizing your batch to fit your mold is on the Soap Queen website! xoxo
I love how ur just uploading whatever the hell u want like this is the content I signed up for I call for a soap tutorial whos with me?? Edit: I think what I was actually thinking of was a video showing Echo's process to making soap, not an actual tutorial. Either way, hope to see more soap!!
Brambleberry makes very good tutorials. Safety is the most important thing. You need to be in a well ventilated room, with no pets or pet residue. You need to have access to a fridge to chill the soap, and a place to cure the soaps. You need to be wearing safety equipment (goggles, gloves, optional lab coat/apron). Any dishes used for soap can never again be used for food and they should be stored separately. If you're doing melt and pour soap, the advice about equipment and location still holds, but the process is a lot easier.
@@VGail85 The reason I suggested a tutorial from Echo isn't cause I wanna get into soap making, tho it does look cool and fun, it's just cause I feel she'd make one of her usual entertaining videos just...related to soap! Plus it's nice to hear her just talk about something she's interested in ^u^
An ancient people found that their clothes got cleaner if they washed them at a certain spot in the river. You see, human sacrifices were once made on the hills above this river. The Bodies were cremated and water flowing through the wood ashes created lye. The lye, combined with the melted fat of the bodies, created a thick white soapy discharge that crept into the river.
I'm already subscribed to you and royalty soaps. So you have no idea how much this video pleases me. If you ever consider shipping to the UK I would totally order soap from you.
Awesome - I'm curious about soap making, but that whole "lye will melt your skin off" kinda makes me cautious, lol. I love the names and designs you came up with... but where's the black and red Echo-bar???
Noooooope. The excess lye will just sit there in the soap forever. I'm a soap maker and if you want to save the soap you need to rebatch the soap and add more oils to the soap to balance out the lye. Personally I pitched my first couple of soaps i made.
@@ohhhpossum Kevin Dunn has an article and you can also join Nia Haifsa's soap making group on FB. We discuss scientific methods for soap making and record our results in the group for others to try. We even have had people make soap using lemon juice and vinegar!!

You did great! Love seeing your learning curve. We have a soap making channel too and we use the same molds you’re using in these videos. Their capacity is 50 ounces, it that helps!
Welcome to your new obsession. I'd recommend soaping101 videos, Teach will show you different swirls and techniques and also how to rezise your soap recipe, how to make your own formulation (soft soap either needs less liquid oils or less water - try 60% hard oils and 4oz water per pound of oil (25% on the calc)
By the way she totally mentioned you in her video where she talked about vidcoin and she said you were wonderful. Love both of you guys and have also tripped and fallen into the rabbit hole of soap videos. Genuinely satisfying content.
I’ve been a member of the royal court since it was just Katie in a shed. I’m so proud of the fact that she keeps making small appearances like this in other creator videos of people I enjoy. Makes me so happy.

Fun fact: I actually found both yours and Katie's channel around the same time about a year and a half ago. I got so excited when she mentioned you on Royalty Soap and here you are now making soap. I love it when youtubers I watch from different genres collide! :D

My mom and I used to make soap! My favorite kind we made was with a small yogurt jar and the bottom was blue melted homemade soap. Stick a little rubber duck in the blue bottom. let it dry, then you pour clear melted soap over the rest! It was so cute!

Titanium dioxide will turn your colors more pastel. Like a true pastel. Cold process soap can leave some pastels without TD an off sort of color. Katie’s soaps are amazing. um there were no black and red striped bars... are you ok?
If you allow your lye heavy soap sit for a year it will be fine. Or you can just shred the soap and add water to it to melt it and rebatch it.
