    My uncle worked on locomotives for many years as did my father and he used the old style Simpson meter and tried to explain how to run various tests like continuity to me to no avail..Now you explained it very clear! Thank you! Npw he can rest in peace knowing that I finally understand what he could never explain to me!

    I did do this on a generator with the same meter . It was a mouse eaten wire for the coil . Great video .

    Thanks Eliminator. I have the same switch on my power washer. It was a intermittent problem. I couldn’t start the washer. I lightly bounced the unit thinking the float was stuck and not getting fuel. It started and ran perfectly. It happened a few times so the fuel theory was not making sense. It wouldn’t even try to start . After watching this video I disconnected the switch.Problem solved. I took the switch apart and a bunch of fine dust fell out. Probably just needed cleaning. The switch didn’t look the highest quality so I bypassed it with a all metal style toggle. Thanks again. Subscribed

    Another great video. I have the same powerwasher. I'm having the same intermittent problem. It starts, but sometimes it won't shut off. I have to pull the coil wire to the plug. But not all the time. Switch checked out ok. Any other ideas. Thanks. Coil itself?

    Get a powered test light for continuity tests. Princess Auto has them in surplus. I use my A.W. Sperry Continuity Tester Ct-101 all the time.

    (Messaged this to you on FB Messenger as well). I recently saw one of your carb videos showing how to preset idle adjustment by eyeballing the throttle plate to half cover a tiny fuel inlet inside the throat of the carb. Tried to find that video again but can’t. Could you please tell me what video that is in. Also, have you described or shown that detail in any other videos, does that process apply to any other (types of) carbs and where did you learn about that? I’ve never seen that on any other RUclips channel and it’s got me really curious! Thanks!

    Good explanation of the kill-switch functions. What is your opinion on balancing mower blades? I had a commenter challenge my assertion that balancing a mower blade helps it to run smoother as it eliminates unneeded vibrations. Do you balance your mower blades when you sharpen them? Thanks

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  2 года назад

      Yes, we sharpen and balance!

      @@EliminatorPerformance Not only do we sharpen and balance mower blades during service we also check all new incoming blades we order for balance. Approximately 8 out of 10 are in need of grinding to but into proper balance using the Oregon balancer. When we have a balanced blade if there is vibration it is because the crankshaft has a slight bend in it.

    • @waynestefinashen239
      @waynestefinashen239 2 года назад +2

      Low oil level safety switch issues are common on generators this pressure washer does not have that feature but as Jake had noted in the video just disconnecting it to see if it fires proves whether it is faulty or not.

    I for ignition

  • @robertscott6215
    @robertscott6215 Год назад

    FYI, the I and O on the Killswitch is not for on and off the O is the symbol for an open circuit. The I is the symbol for a closed circuit so when it’s closed the switche is on when it’s open, the switch is off although on a Killswitch, it would appear to be the opposite because when the switch is on or a closed state it kills the motor turning it off however the symbols still mean the same they are symbols used by every electrician in the US and part of the national electric code. Only reason i comment is in case you encounter a switch that could hurt you if on when you want it off. For this application the I shuts the motor off but on a generator power switch for instance the I closes the circuit sending electricity and the O stops the flow of electricity kinda bad symbols for a kill switch but it is what it is.

    You just wrap the cord around the center drum and pull, no full replacement needed.

    Be careful when using a drill to start your engine because it can be used wrong. I used a drill and it took my flywheel off. It came off and hit my leg.
