Yeah can tape off the whole area accept wear the crest is lifting and try using 3m super77 spray adhesive then heat pressing it on (a iron on high and t-shirt if no heat press) You can also bring it to any tailor and ask them to zig zag stitch it on around the edges. Worse case try some fabric glue and see how it holds up
So did I lol. But I can tell you ironing and steaming it worked like a charm brand new . Girl bought me a custom sabres for Xmas and bent the numbers sitting in the truck
These how to videos are great for maintenance. Have you had any experience with steaming/ironing out wrinkles on the name or numbers of an NHL jersey? I would assume the same process could be applied.
The exact temperature I'm unsure, but it's the highest setting. For the name you can give it a try with no steam. I recommend having it sewn down if it's peeling
Hey man! I never tried that. I would test it first at very low heat. If it holds work your way up. My only concern would be the coating from the paper might transfer to the jersey.
I’d be interested in a video getting wrinkles out of a Primegreen Blackhawks crest. I put a jersey in the washing machine and now need advice. Thanks in advance.
As a Blackhawks collector I can say from experience they are extremely hard to get wrinkle free again. If you want shoot me a pm on IG I'll Walk you through it @Jersey.Jaguar
Great video! Was wondering if you thought it is ok to put some spray on starch on the hockey crest if it is a little flimsy? I have a black Sharks Starter jersey from the 90’s where the crest is wrinkled/loose and flimsy. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and for the feedback! Honestly in theory it should work but in reality I don't think it would make a great difference. I had numbers and crests firm up just from ironing after a few tries. I recommend to try it on a jersey you could part with in a worse case scenario. Another thing would be to iron it flat then try to spray it to prevent it from getting flimsy again. Hope that helps and let me know how it goes!
@@roberthulme8798 Hey Sorry for the late reply. So here two methods that had decent success with. 1- try stretching out the wrinkles while it's submerged under water 2. Try a handheld steamer. Start with low steam and work your way up. Depending on the steamer, try to avoid touching the crest directly with the steamer head. Hope that helps. I'll do a video on those two at some point.
A steamer might. I would recommend a iron with steam capability. If the glue wore off on the crest and it's not stitched down you might have to get some adhesive and heat press it down and then preferably have it stitched. But if it's just rolled up on the edges of you should be fine with the iron and the technique in the video. Always use a shirt or cloth. Start with low heat and work your way up
Great question. For the most part the iron worked significantly better. However, in one or two situations the steamer worked better. I say test it out. Make sure not to touch the head of the steamer directly to the steamer. Start with lower steam and build up. If the steamer doesn't work transition over to a iron. I hope that helps and best of luck with the project.
@@hockeylife8181 if the jersey is hanging you don't need the cardboard and shirt. If it's flat and are using the steamer as a iron I recommend the cardboard for sure and the shirt depending on the steamer head
Hello. I have a Team Issued Team Swedem jersey from the World Cup 2017 and it has been folded when the seller shipped it so the Swen On ads on the arms/shoulders were folded in the middle so it's creased so it stays folded. How can I get that back to normal?
Any advice for the edges of a crest on the Adidas NHL jerseys peeling? Middle is still stitched down just the edges that aren't stitched are peeling

Thanks for the tips. I was a noob. And folded the numbers on mine. Now they are wrinkled. I'll have to try this.

@@Nate-pv8lo Where did you get a steamer? How much was it?
If you're in the States Costco has them and they tend to go on sale
@@jersey_jaguar I have never seen a Costco anywhere near here.

Thanks man!!! Actually yes the same process for numbers basically. I'll get a video out on that asap
Will this work for reattaching a name that's peeling off? Also what temperature are you setting your iron to to?

My pleasure I'm happy it helped. Thanks for watching
Hello Jersey Jaguar can you use parchment paper when you iron out into a Jersey or is that a bad idea

The Diamondbacks jersey is a beauty.
Thanks!!!! Honestly I don't think Randy Johnson wore a ugly jersey. Absolutely amazing jersey history to match his hall of Fame career

What setting do you use on the iron? Linen-cotton, wool silk synthetics or Min?
Highest, but o recommend the lowest and working your way up
Will this work for heat pressed as well?
It can but you have to start with the lowest heat and work your way up. Try getting transfer paper if possible. You can all try parchment paper
Will a steamer work as a substitute for an iron?
In some cases yes. A lot of steamers these days also have the function to work as a iron
I have two jerseys that the crest curled on one side slightly will this steamer flatten the crest back out?

Wil this method work for the NHL logo? Just brought a jersey and the NHL was folded.
Is it a Vinyl shield?
@@jersey_jaguar yes. It looks like when they ironed a patch on it they caught the logo.
