I can’t imagine doing that in such a huge way, but I did that in my own small way years ago. I was working a job in the entertainment industry and trying to make a name for myself, create money and hopefully enough to save and have more options to provide better for my kids. Then one day I got home around 9pm after leaving home at 6am And my two girls, 12 & 10 years old, were at the table with a calendar. Last month there were 3 days highlighted and the next 2, they told me those were the days I was off and we actually did something as a family. My husband and I got together and figured out how I could stay home more. We had to downgrade and scrimp but by the next year we reached our goal. I have never ever regretted it. It’s so important for u to take care of u and ur family in however works best for ur household. I was blessed to be able to do this! I love this woman setting yet another amazing example for so many people!

My cousin lives in New Zealand. He told me that her husband was caught in some black money trade or something and she quit before she could be criticised and blamed by the citizens. So the 'burnout' thing is just an excuse. I was respecting her for that reason until I got to know the real one!
Also she was not handling and managing well, she make hsrself had a daughter and so made a law that people who have a daughter will get $1500 per month until she turns 5.

It's hard to know the full story of everything, but internationally she has a great reputation because of the way she handled the mentioned events, and fair enough I guess. Domestically however there is a lot that has happened due to the government actions that has caused a lot of dissatisfaction in NZ. Her stepping down could be due to burnout, it could also be to the stress of having constant death threats to her and her family, or the fact that in polls it looks like she and Labour are not going to get in again in the next election at the end of the year 😉. Only she really knows. Either way regardless of what people think of her, her action or motivations, I hope her and her family do well and stay safe.

Recently met an anesthesiologist from UK. He wanted to move and live here in NZ and had a good job offer in Oamaru. But after living here for 6 months, he is moving back because it became too expensive to live here. Banks are not giving loans, homebuyers are paying high interest rates and rents are all time high because PM was too busy to get international limelight …….. yeah too much for burnout
