This can happen in a bank as well. There's a reddit dedicated to people who got their accounts frozen. They say that if you're being investigated by IRS or HMRC for tax fraud, the bank is not allowed to tell you what's going on to not tip you off that you're being investigated. I suppose it's the same for paypal? Basically, use 2 different banks.
PayPal is different, they shut down accounts for noe reason, they were actually sued for this a fee years ago but it looks like they are still doing it, I personally know quite a few people who got their PayPal accounts shut down randomly, nobody should be using that awful company

Than he was banned like you and it took im lots of efforts to find out the reason for the ban. Well, it turned out, that he was selling a tea from Cuba. And due to US law (not German law) it's not allowed to trade with Cuba. They told him, he can only go on using PayPal, if he doesn't sell tea from Cuba.

By the way, PayPal cannot fine you, only the courts can find you. And they can’t enforce unless they go to the courts which they won’t because it’s bad publicity especially if the person did not actually violate anything serious.
They have no time finding you, but if u have money holdup, they will take it all. That's how it works. But if u have no funds, they can't waste time finding u. And PayPal seems is above everyone, monopoly sucks

Today I created a PayPal account and I got an email saying its was sus and that I needed to upload a government ID, so I did upload an image of a Peruvian ID (I'm from Peru), no biggie. But a few minutes after hat I got the same message as you saying I was permanently banned. This sucks a lot since I do freelance on Fiverr and have gotten quite a lot of money there and the only way I could've withdrawn it to my bank account was via PayPal. I don't know what I'm gonna do :,c But I did message them on twitter and they've responded saying they'll get in touch soon lol. I hope this works out for me!
I have such a love-hate relation with PayPal, it's not even funny. For business, it's just garbage but for persona use especially for international friends and family, it's the best thing to use because it's instantaneous.
But not everybody is experiencing the same issues so the possibility is maby slim for him, I've had my account in PayPal now for atleast 14 years and I never had any problems so far, that said I agree it's absolutly not ok they handle things this way not letting people know the reasons their account gets blocked and even worse keeping people's money for 180 days, I'm amazed! But they have to follow the laws in California where they operate so if necessary take it all the way to court, ofc they can't just steal people's money so i really thrust you'll get em back in the end.

I recovered an old PayPal account attached to an old Hotmail email address that got hacked over 10yrs ago that I finally recovered and that PayPal account says I owe over 2000 dollars for a runescape game I played for 5yrs in my teenage days. Says the payment bounced and is in negative.. I'm not even going to bother with talking to them. Must be attached to one of the first banks I banked with and some old address... The whole system is botched.

There is a certain amount of refunds that you are able to make, this is not stipulated, but it is a concern for PayPal. So anyone who has made several refunds, even though they might be legit. You end up getting banned

i got banned on mine in a temp and they asked for my info to prove who i am and they perma banned me and i called and they told me they cant do anything and was very unhelpful so i got a bit mad at that person but i think i might need to call again cuz from all the looking for what i might have done wrong and i cant find anything so i think my account needs to be reviewed again

Because they banned your ip you r device simply make another account from another device such as a phone and using a different internet connection

the bad thing about going with something else is paypal is just everywhere like if u want to stream and want tips u need paypal cuz it isnt likely for people to give u money if it isnt paypal cuz everyone has paypal and it is crazy how easy they can just lock an account it really shouldnt be legal
