My goodness. The image of your property looks like it is a fairway on a golf course! I’m enjoying the videos about this project and will continue to follow them as you progress.

Thanks-it is an unusual backyard with elevation gain, and that is one of the things that attracted us to this property!

Excellent update, and it seems you have all this under control, you seem to know exactly what you want and are moving through the process very methodically indeed….look forward to more progress…👍🏻

Sounds like a quite a project. Youre clearly putting a huge amount of time and effort into it, and I shudder to think what your budget must be. I built mine on my own several years ago. Roll off roof, scope room, warm room, fully powered and networked. Probably came in at around 6K, US equivalent. 5 years down the line and I wouldnt change a thing. It functions perfectly, as well as it did on day 1. Good planning is important, but if your primary objective is to create a workable facility to take images from, I'd say be cautious of overplanning to avoid paralysis through analysis! That said, looking forward to your next update.

Thanks for the comment! I have been trying to make decisions quickly, and my short-term goal is to finalize the builder and get on his schedule. That will drive the ultimate timeline! I wish I had been in a position to build this 10 years back-it would probably have cost 1/3 of what my current budget is! Glad to hear that yours has worked out so well for you over the years!

I should have mentioned this in my previous comment, but Nico Carver over at Nebula Photos has built his own observatory in either Vermont or New Hampshire, and he has a series of RUclips videos about that project. I think he did most of the work himself, so you might find those videos helpful for your decision making.

Great tip - I will have to check out what he did there!
