wow honestly Damon, let me tell you as a french person who deals with french customer services , i am shocked at how calm you are. Like you're actually so calm and stay nice and polite no matter how people talk to you, that's really impressive
Yeah I wish that the French improve their customer service skills.
Although that's probably why it took him so long to get service, sadly. I used to be polite like he is there, but would always get lost in the system, now I let them know right off the bat that I'm pissed, and everything goes smoothly.

Can I just say - I hate French bureaucracy, it's really stressful - but it makes for excellent viewing. The comedic value... magnifique!
Bureaucracy in America is not much better. In my last apartment it took a month to get them to install cable and internet. I spent hours on the phone with customer service at Spectrum to try to get someone come out to install cable and internet. Finally, one day they show up and they show up with not one but three service vans. I was like, really? I just need cable installed, that's all - LOL / mdr.
I can say the same. I caught myself laughing on the scenes with SFR, but then I was like: “why are you laughing?!” It’s funny but only from a third angle LOL
It makes one more filosophic in life

I’m so glad you’re still in Paris, I am determined to cross paths with you one day✨ Things seriously take forever to get done here, I had mold growing on my ceiling and I’ve gone back and forth with the insurance company and a year later they finally agreed to come fix it, it got done this month… a Christmas Miracle! Seeing you go through all this trouble makes me feel less alone🤣🤣🤣

@@itsjenisha I live in Aix en Provence. I think things just take forever no matter what area in France you live in. Currently waiting 6 months for my Carte de Sejour to be renewed 😂
@@SamFournier Oh girl when I was working in Normandie I never got my carte vitale 😂 that's one of the reasons I really couldn't live in France. More power to you if you can!!
@@SamFournier took just 2 weeks to have my redone after I lost the previous one, done it online.
I also had a trouble with my SNCF card, couldn't manage to solve it myself only online, do I write them, and today a mail saying they solve the problem due to 2 counts one in my proper name and an other in my proper name - married name, they put all under the same name ! Hourra !
SFR are just the absolute WORST !!! I literally battled with them for hours each time I had an issue, switched to Bouygues, best choice in my adult life EVER!
Absolutely agree, SFR are absolutely the worst, don't know how they hired their customer service team, crazy people with horrible attitude. Don't know why this company hasn't bankrupted yet. lol

True my husband says the same thing and he has boygues on everything now. When he and his parents were on SFR there were also added subscriptions to their bill that they never allowed but it’s there and their customer service is the worst.

I think the reason why we though Damon was moving away rom Paris is because of how eager he was selling and giving things away. Just talking from experience from moving from one country to another, but I am sooo glad you are still there and look forward for what future content this new place holds

The reason why customer service and services from private or public companies in France are horrible is because they are not afraid to be fired. Firing somebody in France is incredibly hard (unions, worker’s rights laws)

Personally, I hope you never sell out Damon, even though I want you to make your dreams come true. I hope you'll keep travelling Europe (or living in Paris/Berlin or whenever if travelling isn't possible atm), and I hope you stick to this format. It's unlike anything else, it's romantic, it has vision and taste. It would leave you much prouder of your work than presenting a stick show. This has your atonomy stamped all over it and the quality is through the roof. And it enables your current romantic lifestyle. You'll be really proud of this work looking back
Lastly, you write/produce/direct your own comedy material in artistically video format, you don't just 'report on your travel', so this is a piece of value that goes way beyond travel shows. Super proud of you Damon, I wasn't a regular Shut up and Go viewer but imo this is even better

I've had to deal with the exact same thing when it came to my cellular distributor in France. They seem to love to make things extremely complicated and once something has been cancelled it can never be recovered again. Horrible customer service. Kudos to you for being patient and working things out

One word for the new place : MAGICAL. I take such comfort in watching someone wrestle with customer service (graciously) like I've had to do about a million times this year for various new house related things - truly one of the greatest arts of getting older.
