- What's up guys! Today's video is youth soccer change of direction training and strength training for youth soccer. We do a lot of deceleration training and mechanics in this video, since we have to be really good at deceleration in order to be really good at acceleration. After we hit all those mechanics, we start breaking down more change of direction work. We're focusing on linear to lateral change of direction today, so sprinting into a backpedal into a sprint, or sprinting to a shuffle back to a sprint. It is very important we are quick and efficient when it comes to changing direction, no matter what the direction is. After that, you see the typical full body strength session we get into for youth soccer players. It's focused around building relative strength, strengthening structural tissue, and preventing injuries. This is a full and real session, so you get to see what a usual youth soccer player strength and conditioning session looks like! Hope this helps!
