    Great video! I appreciate the clear well-lit camera shots and clear narration.
    I grew up with Fords and the color you chose for the engine looks most like what I would see when my dad was working on them. Usually I see people paint their Ford engines way too vibrant or deep a blue.
    I wish kit manufacturers would keep the body on the sprues instead of cutting them off at the factory. I have opened kits that had significant gouges, including major parts of panels cut off due to the person in the factory being too aggressive with their cuts.

    • @scaleffect
      @scaleffect  Месяц назад

      Thanks for checking it out, I'm glad to know I guessed close on the engine color. Luckily with my fix to the rocker panel it's not too obvious those giant chunks were filled, at least it was on a low part of the car your eye is not immediately drawn to I guess.

    That was great! You can never go wrong with black on a muscle car interior…
    In the absence of kit decals for interior details and badging, I’ll try to either use photoetch from Model Car Garage or decal sets from Keith Marks or Ray’s Kit Decals.
    Whenever I try to paint badges or scripts, it looks like I finger painted them during a withering artillery barrage.

    I love your color choice here, given that some of those Hertz cars did come in different colors. When I built this very same kit two years ago, I found there was one decal on this car that shriveled up on me, and that was the one between the bottom of the grille and the front bumper. I also had to order a grille from Revell because for whatever reason it was left off the sprue in my example. I built the standard GT350 about 30 years ago and I painted on the stripes with that particular build, and since these stripes aren't as complicated as others can be, I think it's actually a good idea to do so. On the first build I actually painted the logo on the grille too! Seems I was a bit braver when I was younger.

    You may already know this but if you want to keep from getting bleed thru when painting stripes, once you've taped off the stripes first lay down a clear gloss coat and lay it down with your airbrush just as if you were painting the gold stripes. It creates a barrier between the tape and the body and helps stop bleed thru when painting the actual stripe color. Hopefully you get what i'm trying to say. You are a excellent modeler and I enjoyed watching your video.

      @@scaleffect NP Brotha..... My rule of thumb was to break it down to how many faces and/or angles the area is being decaled and cut the decal for each face and leave it very wet.... Then after they are all placed just slide each faces decal till they all lineup..... Be patient & it will work great..... Be very careful of your clearcoating over those areas.... Use very light coats to keep the edges from moving till clear is fully cured

I have to say I much prefer your open hones build method, the mistakes along the way, what you found challenging, what you found to make things easier. This was much better than the super professional guys I watch like PLASMO. Don’t get me wrong they are good for teaching techniques, but they do a lot of upgrades. Thanks again. Oh and as a figure painter, they tricolour for the mustang symbol. Paint the white in the centre fist. Then either edge the red and blue leaving the white or cut a 1 mm mask strip in half lay it then do the red and blue edge colours. Easier than trying the white after the red and blue. Will be a subscriber and keen to see more of your work.
