I cried three times watching this! It was so gorgeous! What a beautiful movie! The music, the characters, the acting, the animation! Everything was perfect! I loved it so much! 10-10!
why though? I thought this was terrible and I'm so confused about why people love it. Mind you, movies like Big Hero 6 and Lilo and Stitch make me sob like a child every time I watch them. I thought this movie was so insanely rushed and all the big important moments happened so fast for some reason. Longneck appeared out of nowhere and hand a handful of lines and BOOM migration okay bye guys then he dies... I truly don't get it..
@@xhelan131 and that is totally fine, you don’t have to like this movie, and you’re allowed to think that. But that’s how I feel, in my opinion, it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen this year and it deserves an Oscar. I love Lilo and Stitch and Big hero six as well, I cry to those movies as well too, no matter how many times I watch them with my sister but I don’t think it’s fair to ask someone why they love a movie you hate. This movie is not perfect and I agree, it does has some pacing issues and I wish the villain had more screen time. It has a few flaws but all it’s pros outweigh it’s cons for me. We are completely different people with different opinions and I love this movie for it’s interesting and lovable characters, beautiful animation, incredible voice acting, fantastic songs, it’s mature and dark themes of parenthood, death and migration, the beauty and harshness of nature and it’s heartfelt and beautiful storytelling. Also, The person who helped make this movie is literally the same person who worked on How To Train Your Dragon AND Lilo and Stitch.
This is easily one of my favorite movies ever. I am a sucker for a ‘found family’ storyline, and this movie was just overall so beautiful (with the storytelling, the animation, the scenery, everything). Since you are currently reacting to Agatha All Along and have just seen The Wild Robot, I wanted to introduce the show Heartstopper to you. The two main leads in Heartstopper are Joe Locke (Billy from Agatha All Along) and Kit Connor (the actor who voices Brightbill in The Wild Robot). Heartstopper on Netflix is a lovely show about love (romantic, platonic, and familial) that mostly follows a high school romance and their friends, most of whom are LGBTQ. The show is based on a graphic novel series that was created, written, and drawn by Alice Oseman, who is also the sole writer for the entire show. The target demographic was originally teenagers and young adults, but so many people across a wide age range and many backgrounds enjoy this show as well. I would consider it essential viewing for everyone -- there are moments to appreciate and lessons to be had for everyone. Every topic discussed is realistic but with a hopefulness that things will be better. Heartstopper has 3 seasons out, 8 episodes per season, and each episode is about half an hour long. This show was Joe Locke’s first ever audition outside of his local theatre Joe then went on to be in a show on Broadway, and now he is in Marvel. A very impressive career for someone who has just started in the business a few years ago! Heartstopper is a first role for most of the actors actually, except Kit.
I loved the reaction, this movie is such a masterpiece, so emotional 💜 And I think y'all don't know who Kit Connor is (he voiced Brightbill, and he's british, so you can tell he's talented), so it'd be awesome if you watched Heartstopper, he's one of the main characters. I think y'all would love this series (fun fact he was in the movie of Elton Jonh as the child version of him too)
6:49 DURABLE? 😅 The Recos robots were armed and on the island for 10 minutes and all were easily destroyed, abused and left beyond repair even thought roz spent more time on the island getting hated by every animal! Not very durable as you think they are.
I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone or something. I thought this move was horribly made. The pacing was WAY too fast, important characters like Longneck and Vantra just randomly appeared and had extremely short screen time. Longneck apparently was "watching them" for a long time but we got ZERO cutaways to show a mysterious animal in the distance to peak our interest? He literally didn't exist until he just showed up and said "hi hello im a LEADER of the geese im your mentor now". The scene of Brightbill seeing the other geese for the first time? Literally happened so insanely fast with no buildup and it was IMMEDIATELY him being the outcast. That entire massively important moment took like 15 seconds. As well, Fink was being set up to be manipulative and selfish, using Roz for his own agenda, then all of a sudden drops that with nothing in the script to acknowledge a "change" and then it's "I miss her when she sleeps too" as he cuddles up to her? Why did this huge change in a relationship happen off screen? And Brightbill finding out about his family, that happened so fast and seemed pretty chill and not very serious or heartbreaking. Also, there was a line about Roz having to "go back to complete a very important task" at the human city.......but what was it? What did she do there? Become a worker? I am so shocked people are CRYING this much at this movie. There was literally no time to build any kind of attachment to these characters!!!
Longneck is established before his first speaking appearance. He is the only goose that struggles to get off the ground. His distinct take-off is shown during the scene where Roz scares all the geese away, and he is the last to take off. Longneck is also later established to purposely embellish time. He tells Brightbill that he and Roz go “way back” even though we know for a fact he’s only first talked to her at the most a week prior. Him saying he’s been watching for a long time is perfectly in character and is most likely in reference to him being the last goose to take-off in the lake scene. Fink’s character never needed a “change.” The point they were trying to show is that he hides his loneliness behind a veneer of snark and jerkiness. It’s why he doesn’t cuddle up with Roz until she has powered off. As to not show that side of him. The same way he doesn’t show his disappointment in Roz leaving until he’s safe in his den. Fink was already lonely and outright implied he’d never been loved. He doesn’t need a specific scene dedicated to showing that he wants to not be lonely anymore, the audience should be able to pick up on it and infer it by the time the “I miss her too” moment occurs. Vontra is *also* shown prior to her first speaking scene. She is in the room where they receive Roz’s beacon. Subtly denoting her purpose as a retrieval unit and importance. Brightbill was immediately outcast because he’s a runt and leading up to that point in the movie it had been shown that on the island it is truly survival of fittest. Animals don’t care for runts, and Longneck was correct in his implication that if his family hadn’t been taken out by Roz Brightbill would have been cast aside. That’s just nature. And the line about Roz needing to complete a task is just Fink making up a story for the kids, just like he did for Brightbill when he was a gosling. The only task Roz needed to do was to let herself be taken so that they wouldn’t keep sending robots to the island. Her “task” was to protect the animals. This was made clear before she left. This movie is objectively very well crafted and nearly every dialogue, scene, and thing shown on screen has a meaning and purpose for the story. It’s just SUBTLE. The creators knew that the audience could be trusted to not need everything spoon fed to them. And I greatly respect them for doing so. The reason people are crying is because it is genuinely a well made movie.
@@brandonwilliams6221 ...wow, i mean this in the nicest way possible but I just completely disagree with everything you said. I think they did an absolutely horrible job with this and it's very tragic to me.
@@xhelan131it’s definitely a minority to not like the movie but I commend you being independent and expressing why you felt it was not great. I personally found it a great film and overall an experience vs the likes of inside out 2 (boy that made me cry though but I knew what I was getting watching it) wild robot was a refreshing experience for a animated film that explored some very deep topics in a easily accessible way. And the blanks in the story I believe were not to serious but also serve so the viewers subconscious can kinda fill in emotionally. The themes of the story really resonated with a wide range of people and it moved them. I do admit that some of the pacing is a bit off and the villain was a bit weak, bad voice and she had to much personality to be a robotic enforcement entity contrasting Roz and her character growth beyond programming. There are a lot of subtle things throughout the film that usually fill in other gaps in the plot and story. Like when they introduce thunderbolt, he says beautiful after brightbill shows his wings, telling us that one, he won’t try and eat him and he can be trusted. And longneck only made himself known once all the other geese flew off, more private and would avoid upsetting the entire flock but his elder nature saw the potential in brightbill that Roz was bringing out of him. That also was more encouraging for the remainder or brightbill’s training. The last one I thought was well done was the power core scenes. Very early one she expressed that her core was damaged and that she needed solar and battery backup to stay alive. Later in the film as she takes more damage and the eventual leap from the ship kept everything suspenseful but not as heavy emotionally as we subconsciously thought she would probably manage without it. But brightbill didn’t know that so we felt that sacrifice through his character and not as a viewer per say. Despite its flaws I do see it being extremely well done and if we go of what art is, it’s something that makes you FEEL something, to inspire and provoke thought and reflection . This film easily does those things. Now a film I think is absolutely overrated is frozen, the writing and characters are relatively weak and cookie cutter for a curing edge studio with that budget and 100 years of experience!!! And wish was just pitiful as a birthday present to themselves. I watched that in theaters and was so damn let down by it. I’m glad pixar got their mojo back with inside out 2 but dreamworks I think edged them out for the best animated picture and best picture awards. It has so much heart and soul, like Roz
