Gday, your doing a great job here, very well explained and I’m sure many people will get a lot of benefit from your hard work mate, thanks for sharing, cheers
Thanks for the compliment, Matty. I do my best to explain what I am doing, and sometimes why. Maybe I'm right, maybe there are other ways, and even better ways, but it's how I did it, and I am proud to say that I did do it! 🙂
I just bought a BP. Couple of issues that are all addressed in these vids. Thks for the effort you put in to make them PS:. Regarding snap ring install; it's all in the verbage used when installing. Gotta know the right words..
Thanks, but I take no responsibility if something goes catastrophic! LOL! I try my best to explain what I am doing, and sometimes the why (assuming I know why). Glad you are enjoying them.
Or how NOT to work on it! LOL! Seriously, I am sure there are things here I could have done better. I openly admit I am a novice and this is just a hobby. I used a lot of other references, some on YT and others in books and manuals. BUT, I will say this, I think I know the machine better and better each time I work on it.
I might have a small project or two I need to bang out before I dig too deep into the K&T. Plus, I will need some input on how to take the power feed distribution unit off to deal with the Y axis power feed lever.
Nice! Question. At 20:30 you were testing three positions of the feed reverse knob. My knob is almost impossible to move in and out, even with the ball and spring removed. I don't know why it's jammed. I remember them being almost frictionless. Any ideas? Thanks
I wish I could give you something that would lead to an answer. The only thing I could offer are guesses. Perhaps the shaft is bent? Or it could be something internal. Not sure what else to look at. I’d recommend calling Barry at H&W or Tim at Beamer Machine. They are the real experts. I’m just some hobby guy that makes videos. 😉😂
Thanks. One person mentioned success with penetrant and patience. I'll try that, as the machine is older and that function may have sat unused. Cheers.
Good morning friend, I have a milling machine similar to that Chinese brand and the automatic of the boom or spindle of the head does not work. the lever engages well but the movement does not work. Do you have a video to repair it? I would be grateful if you can help me. Thank yo
So many pieces MLM...do you have a rebuild manual that you are following or is this "seat of the pants" learn as you go process? Regardless...very interesting
A combination of three sources: 1) I have a rebuild book from Illion, but I haven't referenced it too many times. 2) RUclips - primarily H&W and 3) figuring it out as I go. Primarily the RUclips videos. Barry does a great job of making it look easy.
I think it's the snap ring pliers, although you might not be holding your mouth the right way when afixing, :) ;). Enjoyed watching your progress. Thanks!
Excellent narration of everything of all the minuscule details, this is further a great supplement from H&W repair guides.
I appreciate that complement!

Glad it was of some use to you. Good to know about the verbiage. I've also come to understand I didn't stick my tongue out the right way. LOL!
Awsome Job, and I will have you know I do use your videos as a "how to" lol . You do a great job and explain things very well.

Now when I find me a Bridgeport Mill, I'll know how to work on it!

I don't. You might want to check out H&W Machine. They have quite a few videos that deal specifically with repairs.

Come to think of it, I wasn't sticking my tongue out either. LOL!
I use a retro fitted steering wheel
It's on my list to do the same thing.
