Buy an electric bicycle.
Buy real honey, locally. Lasts forever.
Buy Kosher pickling salt.
Buy a distiller, to make your own distilled water.
Buy a case of food grade hydrogen peroxide. Dilute before using it.
Buy gallons of cleaning vinegar to make your own cleaning supplies.
Buy vodka to use as a disinfectant. Less toxic than rubbing alcohol. Multiple uses.
Buy rice and whole oats, dry beans.
Buy heirloom seeds.
Use things up.
Repair things. Mend clothing.
Be self sufficient.

@@cleo8339 I hear ya. I've never been a gardener, myself. I am well-stocked on canned soups, chicken, corned beef hash, etc. You can also get buckets of food with a 25 year shelf life. I have a few of those. Remember to store a fair amount of water and have some good filters too. You can't buy everything you'll ever need. Supplies will eventually run out. Consider buying 1964 and older U.S. dimes, quarters and half dollars. They're 90% silver and will be very useful for barter if/when it comes to that.

Shocked how empty Walmart was Sunday night in my town. Place looked ravaged and empty. Very little supply. Almost bought a Walmart brand cast iron pan for $10. Then found out it was Made in China. Put back on shelf. Then found one Made in America with visibly better quality for $5 more.

BEVERLY LACRONE - I served in then Marines and did my patriotic duty as well. I'm in the same boat as I'm 43 with no insurance and my wife too sick to work but can't get on disability. I can guarantee the time I'm eligible for social I won't be getting any. I pray that things get better for you and your husband. We are all facing difficult times ahead and I think during these times is when CEOs like Walmart for instance should give more to their employees during this crisis. Bonuses - increased wages.
I didn't get it but others at my company got 2 dollars extra for one month from COVID19 then they stopped it. We are sitting at 23 confirmed cases at work. Think that all companies should be paying for hazard pay until there is a cure!

I knew this was coming 15 years ago. I bought a cabin on a lake, installed a generator, have a buried fuel source, well water, small flock of chickens. Every year we do upgrades as much as we can afford. We live where there is game for food, and fishing. Have kayaks, boats and canoes. Only go to town for food and supplies. Continuously replenish food supplies. Have a fireplace that will heat the house, and more - we are ready. Nevertheless, I'm nervous. Good luck to all and may God send blessings.

Watch the expiration dates of packaged and canned foods. They are becoming longer. This means the warehouse stocks are depleting.
Noticed that a month ago. Look at the packaging too. Especially GV stuff. Notice how the stuff is the old label designs. Look at the metal of canned things. See the rust spots. This isn't just back stock stuff. This is the stuff that's usually stock piled for donations, especially for natural emergencies. (Gee, sure is great we're not facing any of that.) It's not just walmart either. Seeing the same things at Kroger.

@@bullfunding4693 - The nearest Costco to me is about 55 miles away. Walmart will deliver to my doorstep in 2 days for free. There isn't really any options.
Costco does have 11.67lbs raw clover honey for 50 bucks. It comes in a pale, where Walmart's come in 80oz jugs. If it wasn't for the membership fee, and distance, I would really like to get that deal 😷✌🏽

Simple economics, No money to spend.....Means No shopping.... and in the month of September there are currently over 15,000 companies that are filing for bankruptcy or simply closing and will add an additional 3+ million unemployed to the market.
Walmart doesn't care about anything but making money and specially they care less for their employees. They rather hire a workforce company that gives them an employee for $25.00 per hour over hiring a full time employee at $20.00.hour...... They use the temporary help as long as they are busy then cancel the contract.
I worked in Florida for Walmart (7 years) and I was terminated because of my Diabetes (had a low sugar at work) and the paramedics came to revive me ...... I went to a lawyer and he said Florida is a right to work state, they can fire you because your ugly.
Funny thing is, I have been trying since June to hire 8 new employees. It is nearly September and I only have been able to hire 4. Why is that.

I saw steak and other beef products in my local supermarket called shopnsave, that had an Australian label on it!!!! By the way shopnsave is a misnomer, you can't really save there but it's still better than going to walfart to save a buck!! Sad times 're living in !!

I will not shop there. The stores are horrible and this was before Covid 19, empty shelves and stores in disarray. If you try to shop online you find higher prices and products that say only available in stores. Sorry Walmart I am not going in your disgusting stores and I'm not paying more online. Have a nice bankruptcy is coming soon!! I don't mind paying a little bit more for products from stores that treat me with respect. Stores like Publix and Target with beautifully stock shelves get my business.

@Colleen Skrepak I landed a huge haul at a thrift store in the desert. Dozens of Ball, Kerr, Atlas, Better Homes and Gardens jars and 20 boxes of lids. One of the many vintage jars was worth more than the whole haul.

In my area ( elko Nevada) , in my opinion, Walmart customer service has fallen to a new low. I have put put up with all kinds of performance problems at our walmart over the past twenty plus years. Now the latest tactic is to openly show a lack of respect for the customer by management blocking isles with company meetings and large employee shopping carts for internet orders and refusing to move and let the cutsomer by. Clearly they don’t care if they get my business or not so after twwenty plus years of shopping there, I no longer shop there. When I shop elsewhere I pay a little bit more but I get treated with repect. That makes it for me worth paying a little more. I think that in the long run, walmarts lack of appreciation and respect for the customer will take them down. Thats sad but it is what they deserve.
The problem is not just with Walmart. We have a general decay in respectful and considerate behavior all over the country. A lot of the younger people display a disrespect, arrogance, a lack of consideration, and a sense of entitlement that would never have been tolerated 50 years ago. It's actually a worldwide epidemic.

The Walmart near me has all the doors locked except one. Which forced me to walk around the building in 90 degree heat. Also they are forcing draconian one way lanes and mask rules. Basically shopping is pretty miserable.
Shop somewhere else. Anywhere else! They just started forcing masks on us in BC at Walmart. Haven't been back since. Winners followed and now I hear Superstore is starting on Mon. I'm boycotting them all.
They made me walk around the whole dam store to find a special entrance once I haven't been back in 7 months. I found other places to buy things

I was at a high end mall near me. I was shocked to see the longest lines of people at stores like Gucci. I mean it was clearly people just spending their stimulus money, I am shocked at how irresponsible people are with their personal finances. The system caters to these people too much, they are content with mindlessly spending.
I used half of my stimulas check to buy my daughters family some food storage. Only enough to feed 5 people for 1 month. I didnt need it. But even if you are saving money, what happens when the dollar crashes. So you might as well use it to prepare.

Sharon Crawford right... I got the $1200 but really not necessary for survival. It is icing in the cake. So I guess those people would use that “bonus” money on shopping expensive stuff. I put that money in the stock market to make more money. With Covid, everyone is finding interest in gambling in the stock market since the casinos and sports (betting) are shutdown. The economy is crashing, but the stock is at record high. It is funny how this world is operating now. Covid really turns life to many directions in an unpredictable way.

If I really worry about losing money, I can park my cash in a recession proof stock for the next 20 years and just drip my dividend (ie: waste management stock is one you can buy and hold till retirement - their dividend will offset inflation). You can’t lose money if you don’t gamble the money on penny stock... depend on risk appetite. I do invest in some risky stocks, but those are money I can afford to lose... even those go to $0, it won’t affect my lifestyle at all. Big risk = big reward.

People are still being laid off from jobs! States are putting caps and setting times online when you can and when you can’t apply for assistance. They’re overwhelmed with people who need help. If you didn’t save prior to this or couldn’t save, don’t have family, friends or anyone to help you, you’re screwed! There are jobs, they’re not good jobs but there are jobs. If you don’t mind working for a grocery store, fast food, security guard, or warehouse for a temp agency all those exist to help you survive. They’re not jobs to allow you to thrive but the USA no longer cares if the citizens thrive or if the citizens are healthy. It’s a slave labor market, only the rich are fine. I think it's pretty pathetic that there' able to keep the doors open along with Walgreens , Target, Costco, and Walgreens but many of the mom-and-pop shops have gone out of business.
My neices ex husband lost his job 2 months ago. They found him in his apartment dead from a self inflicked gunshot to his head. He was in his mid forties and has a 26 year old daughter who is my neices daughter.

We can’t stand Walmart!!!! I’ve shopped there 2-3 times since dec of actually going in store. Did pick up 2 times since March shutdown and it made me sick to think of Walmart making money and all the mom & pop shops closed so I quit shopping there. It’s obvious you can’t catch covid at Walmart but you can at local stores,?!?! This has all been a control thing for people and I REFUSE to be bullied. So I give my money to as many local businesses as possible :). When Walmart put up some creepy monitoring system in November when you walk in door it felt like walking into a prison. No thanks!
