@@pizzacheese4706 Well I would agree, but this type of racing is just really unsafe and scary. You don't have to time to assess the jumps, you're going at literal breakneck speeds and this is one of the more dangerous and cruel sports. But you've shown real ignorance with this comment I'm afraid. My dad used to be a jockey and is now a full time vet. He loves horses more than anyone and knows a lot of other jockeys who feel the same. The connection between a jockey and his/her horse is extremely strong and jockeys wouldn't ride if this wasn't the case. Your statement about the jockey needing to care for the horse makes no sense. I appreciate the thought put into your comment. I have had competition ponies and horses all my life, when they fall (which is distressing) your instinct is to go to their head and offer them comfort. Sean Scanlon yes actually you can force a horse to do things it doesn't want to. They are prey animals and are easily forced with pain and fear, size is irrelevant. They do things because they fear the consequence if they don't, they take the easy option and often learn that it's easier to just go through the pain because they only get more pain if they resist. Poor damn horses in this world, idiots thinking that they want this shit 😑
+Hazel Mccall - I'm talking specifically about racehorses when out on NH racecourses where you at times see a horse dig its heels in and plant its feet and refuse to start, despite the urgings of the jockey and the starter's assistant, or horses that are withdrawn from Flat races due to refusing to enter the starting stalls, despite half a dozen stalls handlers trying to push it in. They are also herd animals too by nature and so follow the pack and will even carry on running during a race without the jockey if he/she departs at some stage during the race.
Sean Scanlon some horses resist pain , some horses go with it to prevent more pain. Yes they are herd animals , they don't run the crap out of themselves like this in the wild unless they are trying to save themselves, idiots defending this horrible sport just can't believe it 😑 horses are forced to race , they don't get a choice. Thinklikeahorse
Im intrigued whether this horse would even exist without racing? Highly doubtful. Where is the need for horses these days other than racing? We certainly dont want them bred for food. As far as i see their main uses outside of racing are to help gluttonous toffs chase foxes or to run/trot/prance around a sandpit dolled up like one if those prats from the only way is Essex with the rider dressed like a berk from yesteryear whilst boring the hell out of anyone who doesnt possess an eloquent double barrelled surname. Interested on what those from your school of thought see as the alternative roles for horses would be? This is a genuine question. Racehorses generally are in training for anywhere between 1yr to 10yrs of their lives and race roughly 6 times annually. Every stable tour I've ever seen suggests they are treated exceptionally well. Then they retire and generally live out their life to near 30 in a green field. Doesn't sound too bad. Wish i could work for less than a third of my life with 6 tough days a year! Instead like most I'll most likely probably be in a concrete office for 80% of it. I don't like seeing horses fall and especially not fatally, its far from entertaining. But put in context next to the likes of cruel intensive farming, lambing, etcetera i personally fail to see how horseracings existence is an issue. And so many improvements have been made over the past 20yrs to make it safer, especially on the jumps side. Fatality rates have heavily decreased and welfare vastly improved by many good and caring people working in the industry. And these improvements are still moving in the right direction. So the question is from me whats better, no horseracing so dramatically less horses in existence, i estimate 90%, or horseracing? Perhaps non existence is the better option...i can only thinklikeahorse and say I'd take the later
Ever think he might be in shock? That was a hell of a hit to the ground. With my accidents I was either in too much shock to realise what happened or over reactive to check my horse. It happens. They could have both very easily died.
Yes, I understand how hitting the ground and being in shock works, but he never tried to comfort the horse and after ripping the tack off, he just walked away. When the team was working on the horse the jockey just stood and watched, holding the tack like, “Uuuuuu what’s this for?” And once the horse stood up, he didn’t even look, he just knew his job was still available and when walked to the truck without looking back. He also didn’t even hit the ground hard, he rolled.
@@monikafurrer4982 he didn’t at first, but then looked over and saw the horse wasn’t moving and was a bit worried and took off the tack to comfort the horse for if it was going to be euthanized.
The racing industry is disgusting it makes me sick racing horses I don’t have a problem riding but I do racing most of the horses that race or train to be a race horse are usually killed from a back injury mostly leg injury’s and neck injury’s.
I feel like this should be banned cause they are putting horses though torture and them racing them for fun and killing them sometimes and the people who own them spend parts of they're life taking care of them then when they race they put them In pain
It’s not torture. Horses love what they do and love to run and work. There’s nothing different then people running track and jump and gets hurt. Accidents happen with anything people do. In all different sports. There’s always that chance of an accident but that doesn’t mean it’s torture. 9 times outta 10 the horse is ok.
I sorry but this comment actually made me cry because there are so many people you watch things like Thing like this and assume that a riders treat there horses like this. For those who read this who don't know what a hot-walker does...it's someone who walks the horses around the barn a few times to cool them down after morning exercise or after a race.
Jockey more interested in his bloody saddle no matter what or who’s 🐎 you ride you should treat it with the same care and respect if you can’t help it comfort it
Just standing around
Never understand why people are so upset when a horse goes over and how they're treated. But don't give a shit about how other animals are treated like pigs and cows etc.
How did both walk away unhurt? That's what you call miraculous.
soft ground makes all the difference and they were just winded
this is the very reason why HUMANS should race MOTORCYCLES AND CARS and not horses
Disgusting how help didn’t come quick😭😷😷

Vet: Get the Gun
Horse: Wait I'm Good
Poor thing was knackered and I can’t believe how slow they all were coming to it’s aid. Cruel sport.
any form of racing with animals should be banned
denise inman
The horses that are raced today like in this video are only for profit and entertainment bu5 there are some horses that truly love to run and jump but doing them at the same time is unsafe and dangerous
Thank god they got back up. Usually a downed horse is a dead horse
Discusting! I hate humans! These beautiful animals don't deserve this!
This is cruelty with animals...
that's right! put your bets on today boy! win big :D
See this is why racing with jumps and racing in general is horrible
What an amazing ending
It is one thing I really hate is horse racing and bull fighting if I could I would stop both of them
Same here. Pure abuse.
I hope the jockeys were ok too. Thats the main thing.
Pfffttt really this sport is done for money and here u are saying that who gives a fk a bout the jokeys not me
Thank goodness the jocky's are okay
I honestly wouldn’t feel any sympathy for anyone who got hurt doing this
If they knew anything about horses they would know that racing and jumping at the same is just cruel
So glad the horses are ok this could’ve been much worse for them than for the jockeys
anyone see that horse without a jockey.. no one is talking about it 😭
Thank God he's ok
I was cursing the owners n jockeys to hell n back....
Urging both horses to get up !!!
So relieved
This is why these races should be illegal, it’s cruel. And these men who ride only care about their precious saddles, as clearly seen in this video! It’s such a dangerous sport and should not continue.
These horses are so cared for and loved..only a person who never worked in a stud would say that...you really have no idea
@@pauloconnor9303 I don’t doubt they are looked after, but these men have people look after the horses for them (as it’s their job) they just race them they take no part in the hard work. Also Shall we go over how many race horses have died from racing each year? All for this awful pathetic racing.
@@pauloconnor9303 That’s a lie they want you to believe.
@@charlottejackson5016 Remember to include many clouds who was murdered by racing.
So sad for these poor animals forced to take part in cruel sports. They just deserve so much better, ban racing!!!
You can't force a half ton horse to do anything if it really doesn't want to.
Wtf man. This needs to be banned. I hate fences
Credit to the 2 jockeys they worried about the horses more than thereselves
Thank god those horses are ok
Was that the veterinarian who finally kind of showed up in the range rover? Don't think so as he had no veterinary equipment...
All theses so called horsey people havnt a clue what to do to help the poor horse, so glad the horses weren't seriously hurt.
Hate all this ,Horse racing, fucking cruel indeed they would never ban it , money involved, the root to all evil. 🤔
The jockey in the red doesn't seem to care... Ugh.
That was my thought too. Fucking midget was thinking about his pay.
you do realize, he just hit the ground very hard, too.
Tessa Appelgren or just didnt know what to do
You can tell the both Riders got right up and we’re kinda scared and worried for the horses and that if they were okay
Watch again. The red and white guy didn't give a fu** 😠
@@monikafurrer4982 he didn’t at first, but then looked over and saw the horse wasn’t moving and was a bit worried and took off the tack to comfort the horse for if it was going to be euthanized.
But yes, he didn’t care as much as the blue and white jockey.
Het blijft een stomme sport, zo ga je niet dieren om.
The racing industry is disgusting it makes me sick racing horses I don’t have a problem riding but I do racing most of the horses that race or train to be a race horse are usually killed from a back injury mostly leg injury’s and neck injury’s.
Neck and leg injuries can heal.
Horse jumped up ahhhhhhh fuckint had ya!!!
I don't like the way they play with the horses lives!!
The ground behind the jump is very uneven for the horses to land on, and full of deep holes. Safe landing conditions should be installed now.
@@kaitlynallred4455I did not put it that way and now I feel dumb. :P
The last horse was definitely favoring his front right leg 😢 but 2nd one looks fine.
Horses aren't made to be jumping like that...
JOKER LAMAR MÍA they are but not in the way you se this
@@Winnie-the-one-eyed-pony they only jump if necessary like over logs and debris
What’s the point of this sport , poor horses. I hate everything that has to do with animal sports. They just use them til they are used up, so sad.
I sorry but this comment actually made me cry because there are so many people you watch things like Thing like this and assume that a riders treat there horses like this. I am and equestrian and I think racing I really cruel and I hate watching riders of any discipline treating there horse like machines but I try to put them first for everything and I love horses so much. Indirect killing horses
City council
Bloody Hell... It's not worth doing this anymore if it means hurting the horses. Why the hell is it still legal...
Because it needs a reform rather than just banning it which would most likely do more damage than good.
@@rimo1267 Correction, horse racing needs banning.
Urgent intervention is required to stop this cruelty. Unity is power. This cruelty cannot continue. This is barbaric.please join me in my efforts to have this sport totally banned.
Banning horse racing will result in thousands of horses ending up in slaughterhouses; far more than right now because they can't retire controlled anymore. The economy will most likely collapse and nobody will be able to take them anymore. The sport needs a reform, but banning it will do more damage than good.
