The Owls of Amherst Island. Five days van camping around the Island in search of wintering owls.

Ever since we first heard about the migrating owls that winter on Amherst Island we wanted to camp there making Photographs. It is a bit of a drive from Kitchener but not really all that far to go for such an adventure. We didn't really know what to expect. In the end we were not disappointed. In the golden hour of our last day we had some wonderful success with quite a flock of Short Eared Owls. There were also Snowy Owls and Barred Owls to entertain us. It was very cold at Minus 20 and 25 degrees C. Our Mr. Buddy Heater kept us alive and almost comfortable. For the most part I was using the OMD EM1 MK2 with the 300MM F-4.0 and the MC20 2x Converter
