I got the sports edition apple watch, people say they're pointless as you can do everything on your iPhone already, personally I purchased one because I hate texting people , putting my phone in my purse and zipping it up and then right as I'm done zipping it up my phone alerts me to a text message -.- when it's on my wrist I don't have to constantly pull my phone out of my purse to check my alerts , I have also wanted a Fitbit for a while now but now that I have the Apple Watch I don't need one as it tracks my calories burned , heart rate , and how much i exercised in total and if I have been sitting too long it gently vibrates to remind me to stand and move around . So far I love my watch
I got your point, although the watch needs an iPhone in order to work, so why waste money if you can just use the phone instead? It's not hard to constantly pull out your phone out of your pocket, than wasting a couple hundred bucks to a watch that also works as a phone.
I either buy myself a 800$ watch, or the apple watch. So what is the waste of money?....

Still it was MY decision to spend that much on an accessory... But When you have to decide between a "Normal" 800$ Watch or the Apple Watch the more logical decision (if you have an iPhone) is to go with the Apple watch....

I mean. It's not like it's worse than a regular watch. It's not like a regular watch automatically gets its time right magically somehow. You just gotta set it manually. This one seamlessly just gets the correct time because so does your phone. And if you ask me that is better than a regular watch lol.

Tyler Hendon Apple does not update their software on older phones for no reason, the reason is to make the phone slow as fuck so you are forced to buy the newer versions. Basic marketing and you are all falling for it.

***** well, I have Microsoft Band for about 3 months and *all this time* i have my phone ringtone muted and vibro turned off - all notifications, alarms and so on are on my wrist and it's much more comfortable than using phone. I can answer to text messages or twits with onscreen keyboard (it's tiny but works well) or using voice dictation.And still it's a good fitness tracker.
So I think Apple Watch even more better device (but for iPhone only).
You know when if there's a trend to something, there's always something better.
I learned that with all my previous purchases
AnySub Smart watches aren't worth it yet, no new technology is worth buying from the start. I think it will be a few years before it's practical for the general public to buy one.

Tetsuo Shima I'd just tape or glue that thing to my nightstand and just take my watch off my wrist as I do now with my regular watch and sit it on the charger every night, it's easy enough.
I got mine on the 24th. So far after 24hrs with it, I love it. Does exactly what I had hoped.

EKFiPod Seems like easily avoidable issues to me haha. If your hands are full, all you could do it look at your watch, which you could do with a phone. Also, you could just wait until you're not in a place where phones aren't allowed. Paying up to hundreds of dollars for these excuses seems pretty lame.
everyone is entitled to their own opinion. people spend hundreds to buy normal watches, so why not spend the same amount, but get one with more functionality. I for one would never buy a watch expensive as an Apple Watch. I'm more than satisfied with Pebble's offerings at more than half the cost.

This watch is way too expensive. The Moto 360 is $250 with the same materials, and a batter charger.
And doesn't work with the iPhone

***** The watch straps on the Moto 360 are universal. So all the straps people have had on their standard watch will most likely work on the Moto 360. Apple on the other hand (No pun intended), surprise surprise, made their straps proprietary. Also the Apple Watch might not work with Qi chargers on the market already (The 360 works with the AW charger) due to its domed back. No one actually tested this, but if it's the case I feel like Apple will make another totally different charger for the AW2 for no reason at all.
Yes The Moto 360 is better. But I'm still getting annoyed by the black bar at the bottom I hope they fix that SOMEHOW
