“I like sampling old records, but I like new technology.” - EXACTLY 🎯
Genuine humility. Best trait an artist can have these days 😊
Oh lord RipX does that well!!!
What i find in my work flow is that; ill pitch and tempo warp in ableton them split so i can chop with confidence of key and tempo for a clean product.
Sampling is a whole art on its own, great stuff!
you can audition each spectral artifact and clean up some of the ripping artifacts manually; it show promise in repairing the artifact noise in the rips
my mind is blown !
That's cool RipX looks like what I need. I have some stereo mix downs of old studio sessions I did in the 90's. I never managed to get hold of the 24trk 2 inch masters. It would be nice to get the stems from the stereo and remix them. i was never happy with them. regards from UK.
That sounds like a relevant use case!
Love that you are using Stevie Wonder for samples:)
Another important detail is you can scrub the extra sound artifacts that effects cause.
Which version of RipX is this you have been using? I see there is a few options
Enjoyed watching you making music!
Sample music is what I'd like to make as well and it's really helpful to watch you producing.
Love the vibe
Thanks for watching; glad you found it useful!
the fact that it s also find the right tempo and stick it to the grid might sound like a detail but speaks volume about the quality of this product ! I m not even talking about the price ! Fantastic plugin !
sick
Smooth!
OMG!!!!!
Imagine having this type of technology in the 90's era!?!
Great video and an amazing channel and wonderful music as well
Thank you for sharing and hope you keep making more Ableton production videos!
This ripx deep mix is something well worth investing in!
I'm still shocked!!
Like, imagine my sp1200 or my mpc200oxl or ASR-10 having this ability like RIPX!?!
I see you have the classic s900 and is that also the s950 in the background? might be the s1000?
Or all 3 models of them?
wait is that the S700 disk drive?? omg I loved that sampler!
Those filters can't be replicated even if they try hard they may come close but nothing beats the true hardware itself!
Keep up the amazing work and have a great day!
The beat is so dope!
Thanks again for this amazing video!
Thank you :) We're blessed with the tech for sure! In the rack I have Akai s900, Akai s3200XL, Akai s5000, and EMU Ultra e5000.
@@fanusamurai Akai heaven!! lol
Have a great day!
Yes Yes big up Fanu!!!!
I can hear such a great track ! please just finish that

Very impressive demonstration. I have to purchase the software now.
If you’re mostly interested in separating elements, do check my video on Lalal.ai - I think it does a cleaner job (RipX of course offers many other things that Lalal doesn’t).
I like the way you are using real records.
Thanks, I love doing it.
BTW I just posted another session sampling vinyl on my Patreon where I make a hip hop beat out of that.
@@fanusamurai hi
Thanks for your reply.
I have been sampling off spice and also I can take stuff by recording on my Mac from any sound so I have been taking from records off soptify.
I'm sure you might disapprove of this. However the smiles are ok but in mp3 so quite compressed.
Just wondering if the ripx recreates good quality files. Etc.
I'm really interested in how you isolated the instruments you wanted.
This is such a game changer as I have usually tried to find clean samples such as a solo trumpet, vor drums, etc to use. This now means you can use quite large chunks of a track.
@@carterpresents2395 I'm fine with whatever whoever is sampling TBH.
For isolation, I've mostly been using Lalal.ai as it's so fast and doesn't require an app on your computer, and I am happy with the quality they have (I also saw they very recently introduced a new, improved engine).
43:00 dam this is a long video; lol.
Great video man. Thanks for letting us sit in with you and experience ya process. I got this program a long time ago but I was afraid of it. I used it last night and it's Fkn dope and ez but I wanna learn what all of these other buttons do. You've got a great in depth tutorial .
Woe.... a miracle 😮
insane
Got a few Qs whether I could share the samples - you can grab them from my Patreon: patreon.com/fanufatgyver
This is a game changer.
You're doin well don't worry!
Good video
I love your ear for the music my brother wish we could work on something
Thanks man :)
amazing
I appreciate this.
I wonder if the software still works fine if you feed it a sample/song that has went through the 12bit sampler circuits with all the crunchy bitrates.
Anyway, I'm super happy this is a thing now. I remember talking about softwares like this years ago and saying "These software solutions just aren't good enough yet." Well, seems like they are now. I'm excited about this.
I'm sure they work with crunchier stuff, too…should test it!
dope
Enjoy watching your videos Fanu there very educational , When are you going to show us how you use your hardware ? Especially the emu ultra. Would be a great watch :)
bro you made a wicked beat/track.... i totally loved it... i have subscribed to you and buying ripx.... i like how u took what you want and merged them all together and created this outstanding lofi track. i will stay in contact .. i am currently doing a diploma and have a wicked studio.... just need space to set it up.
Get that studio poppin' and make some bangers!
Gosh
Thanks for sharing your process! One question: although sampling is a big part of hip-hop, it's usually considered a legally grey area, how exactly does it work when you release music? have you ever had a problem clearing some samples?
Obscure shit chopped craftily.
you can Also audio to midi? It's more efficient then Melodyne?
Mielenkiintoista kyllä. Tykkään noista "vuodoista" mitä jää välillä jos on isompi sointu tms.
Men, I love Your Videos !!
Thank you!
This is sick, what version are you using RipX DeepRemix or DeepAudio?
I kind of don't even know, heh - I *think* it's the smaller version? I just got the demo from the site and haven't got super deep with it (as you can tell!)
@@fanusamurai Thanks man, I really appreciate the video and the reply!
Can you export the sample as a midi
Hi, I wanted to know if you could help me out? I have ripx, I tried to take the guitar off of the Prince sing, little red corvette, but when I take the guitar out- it pulls out the keyboard- what am I doing wrong? can you help?
I feel there's now a better alternative, and it's web-based. See my last video and try the service at lalal.ai and that will prob extract for you what you want.
hey nice video can you share your default slicing preset? the sampler one with with the loop ?
Let’s see if I can paste a link:
here's the slicing preset:
www.dropbox.com/s/kk9b7jen80oucjg/SAMPLER-.adg?dl=0
(should be placed in:
user lib > defaults > slicing)
@@fanusamurai thanks a ton. I also saw a video, dunno if it was on your patreon, but you basically explained how to sample in to ableton. I found the trick that you can get the bpm of the sample if you put follow on in the preferences and let it listen to the incoming audio. It basically calculates the BPM, even when their are tempo variations in the song.
@@fanusamurai hey just wondering, this is the preset you always use right? And when you feel like the end needs to be looped, you do it manually?
@@jrmaffia01 I use that most of the time. I use a bit of crossfading with the alternating loop to make it smooth!
OMG - isnt that cheating? take a couple of awesome records and sample? just kidding:D
i mean no blindfold like rythm roulette? :D
Kinda yeah! I mean if RR is the standard way of making it :P
@@fanusamurai nice video - ripx is now on my shoppinglist :)
@@osten_petersson nice one! Also, on my videos, do also check the Lalal service (operates via browser online) and then make a decision on what serves you better (Lalal gives you better quality, but wont run on your computer and do the various tricks RipX does)
@@fanusamurai as a software architect I am a bit paranoid and really don´t want to use online thingies :) - but will check it out
