Hanging Rock State Park, NC: Lower Cascade Falls, and Hanging Rock Trail

- This is our travel vlog at Hanging Rock State Park, NC. We hiked on the Lower Cascade Falls trail which is only 0.4 miles one way to the Lower Cascade Falls, then we drove to the lake, and then to the trailhead of the Hanging Rock Trail a 1.3 miles one-way hike to the top of the Hanging Rock. this is considered a moderate hike.
Hanging Rock State Park is a 9,011-acre North Carolina state park in Stokes County, North Carolina in the United States. The park is 30 miles north of Winston-Salem, and 123.8 miles northwest of Raleigh, the capital city of North Carolina.
It has 73-site campground, picnic grounds, stocked lake for swimming and canoe rentals and more than 20 miles of hiking trails to waterfalls and to the Hanging Rock. There is also access on the Dan River for paddling, 8.4 miles of mountain biking trails and rock climbing opportunities with permit. A complex of vacation cabins is available for longer visits.

The Carolinas are beautiful...we look forward to exploring more of it. We are really thinking about moving up in a couple years.
You should! There's the Mountains in Western NC and if you miss the beaches in Florida, there's the Outer Banks and several beaches in the coast of NC. I moved here from New York several years ago, and couldn't see myself living somewhere else in the US. The only thing in NC is during winter time, the roads can be icy certain spots, but it's just a matter of planning your time when to go out to work or whatever since the snow/ice melts quickly since freezing temps don't stick around too long.
