He was going to be called Jetfire based on the Macros Jetfire toy, but harmony gold had the Jetfire character. Due to Legal reasons, the characters animation model was turned into the now iconic one and name was changed to Skyfire. Recently, Hasbro has acquired the rights to the Jetfire name.
Man this guy is huge. I like that they give you more than one chest piece so you can do a decepticon and autobot logo without having to remove the sticker

In my childhood I've always known him as Skyfire. Personally I prefer the name he had when he appeared in the original series. I like Skyfire better than I Jetfire.
I like how you got involved in the script, it's so funny! Also, I agree about the stand, it's very stupid for using the same stand, Fans Toys should use different stands for various characters with jet modes.

This is the one I always wanted. And this is the most perfect toy representation of the cartoon. I am thrilled.
I think if you swung his thumb up (at 25:31) he can hold the gun a little better. It does look like it can be done. I'll have to try that out when I get mine. Still though, I loved your skit at the end LOL. You should probably tell the guy to build a proper set for FT's Giganticus.
Pre-ordered it when I first saw the pictures. Awesome figure. But it doesn't make sense that they include a flight stand with Galvatron but don't include one with a plane.
It strikes me as weird that Skyfire could simply rip his Decepticon insignia from his chest like a decal and pull put an Autobot insignia out of nowhere in G1. I remember seeing Grimlock do that in the IDW comics with his Autobot insignia and he tore out a chunk of metal from his chassis so he ended up looking funny.
why did they bother adding the flight stand with Sovereign ,which he doesnt need that much, but not with Phoenix?Maybe they realized that the figure woukd become more expensive?i dont know

I agree. Fans Toys did him much better. The size, scale, quality, infinitely better than DacaToys copy. Also, he doesn't have a creepy head-sculpt. Yay.
A simple solution for guns falling out of hands would be for them to put a small piece of metal in the handle of the guns and a small magnet hidden in the palms. The weapons would stick with ease yet still be removable with ease as well.
I know I'm late on your review of this Fans Toys' take on G1 Skyfire Emgo, but you always deliver great reviews on both sides of the Masterpiece Game. I will eventually pick up FT-10 PHOENIX/G1 SKYFIRE! And get some more faction symbols, particularly the Autobots' ones. BTW, I am a sub and fan of yours. I like to watch your reviews, because you are thorough with them. In addition, you are one of the few reviewers I watch before I make a decision to buy something I am interested in.
While I'm really tempted by Phoenix, I do already have Kronos, and for all of his faults (and yea, I know he's not near as good as a product as what Fans Toys normally produces) visually Kronos still looks really nice on my MP shelf with the rest of the bots. Hopefully I'll get Phoenix someday, but with all the great stuff coming out such as Fans Toys Not Omega by the time I get to Phoenix on my want list, I'll be broke. But a really great review Emgo-and the skit at the end was super fun as usual!
No. Jetfire was an Autobot. Megatron lied to him and tricked him into joining the Decepticons. Jetfire eventually figured it out and joined the Autobots for good. Look up the original G1 series. There's also comics on it.

Honestly, though he's plastic, I think this is much more true to Jetfire than the original. Which if you'll remember was just a ripoff of Robotech's Veritech fighter. To me, That's Jetfire. Nice one. I bought him and he's on the way :D
I completely agree that a full flight stand should be included with this figure. I plan on buying this, but I do not own any Fans Toys products, so yeah, just the top of a stand is pretty useless to me. Plus, on an over-$200 figure, it'd just be a polite gesture on their part to include the whole thing.

I Got him transformed and was STUCK!!!!!????? You flipped it. Reverse transformation. Thank you sir. I appreciate this much.👍👍to ya.😊😁😁 happy happy. And one more thing. The reissue is almost exactly the same. Just a slight sheen on the gun. Basically the same. This one of my most favorite master piece quality figures. The cockput and nosecone of the jet extend all the way from the top of his chest right down to his crotch. That's one big solid piece right through the center of his torso.

*I have a feeling that if Phoenix is displayed on that stand full time, that the weight of the die-cast would in all likelihood, break. Transparent/clear plastic is not ideal as a load bearing accessory or flight stand, in my opinion.*
Awesome piece. I've got the Seige for Cybertron Jetfire. Love it. But, a huge question I have to ask, is why Is there a huge chest gap in all all of the figures' jet modes? Why couldn't they figure out a way to close it? The Seige actually comes with a peice that could, possibly fix this. They coulda used the chest armor. Instead of putting it on top, it could have been modified to accomplish this. The damn chest gap!!!

Words cannot describe this figure; you need to have it in-hand to understand. This solidifies Fanstoys as the cream of the crop.
When Emgo swapped out the painted eyes for the light-piped ones, it looks like he's cross-eyed. Am I the only one seeing that?

The only edge Kronos has is the more defined "gaunt" face which is closer or much faithful to g1 cartoon

Jetfire looks abit cross-eyed with the light-pipe eyes and I'm sure someone else agrees.
In the cartoon he was able to transport the other Autobots. And this is the most accurate Jetfire I know.

that big jetfire has the most details as in g2 cartoons as he transforms and in bot mode. thats awesome also the scaling is more accurate.

I'm okay with Phoenix not having any real waist articulation as he's basically wearing armour according to cannon so he's bulky.

I have just recently started watching the G1 cartoon for the first time and never knew that his name was also Skyfire until I watched the show.
They should probably make that slot for the diecast piece slightly smaller.
