  • Siege of Derry & Apprentice Boys part 2
Siege of Derry was one of the most important events in the history of the Protestant people. It maintained the Protestant religion in Ireland and was key to the glorious revolution and the establishment of civil & religious liberty for all. This video gives the background to the siege and the Apprentice Boys of Derry an organisation formed to keep its memory alive.

I have no issues with people celebrating there heritage and of the orange lodge ,what i do have issues with are people going on about losing there protestant heritage and being persecuted especially when most of the people attending marches have probably never been inside a church unless it was for a wedding or a funeral. .

Protestants don’t need to go to church. They aren’t Catholic! Plus the Orange Order and like organisations have their own services.

I doubt Protestant population would have been destroyed if James II won the Siege of Derry he offered Protestants freedom of religion and worship and before Henry VIII broke with Rome they where lots Protestants in England.

The Jacobite Army literally murdered Protestant women and children at Derrys walls during the Siege, so I would highly doubt it.
