    Sinner is reminding me of what the big 3 used to do. He's just on another level, dominates his matches, and rarely loses if he's fully fit. And he's still so young, scary..

      You're right. Alcaraz at his best could beat god 6-0 6-0, but how you play at your best is almost a 100% irrelevant metric, because it only happens like once a year. What Sinner has mastered is what is actually important in competitive tennis, which is: "how good are you able to play at least 90+% of the time". And I would argue that 1: that level for Sinner is unbeatable by essentially anyone in the world except Alcaraz, with at least a 95% confidence level. And 2: that Sinner is maintaining that level more like at least 95% of the time, not just 90% of the time. Like I said, Alcaraz could literally beat god 0 and 0, if playing at his best. But he only plays at level where no one in the world but Sinner has more than a 5% a chance to beat him like... idk maybe 50% of the time. A year or two ago he was doing it more consistently, but I think that's just because he was like completely on fire, and was magically playing his best all the time. I hope Alcaraz learns how to keep beating everyone even when he's not playing his best like Sinner can, and then this could turn into a big 3 type rivalry.

      @@samberg3864Alcaraz wasn't more consistent two years ago, he won the USO end of the year in 2022 but not much after that. Only 19 years old. Also, people are talking as if Alcaraz hasn't won 2 grand slams this year and an Olympic Silver in one summer, and has beaten Sinner 3-0 on the Atp tour with two wins on hardcourt and one of them recently in Vienna on a fast indoor court. Yes Sinner is unplayable now on hard court but what did he do on Clay? (On Grass he had good results with Halle and QF Wimbledon). Adding to that: Alcaraz is two years younger than Sinner. I don't think we have to worry about Alcaraz, we have to 'worry' about the rest of the field catching up (Zverev, Medvedev and talents like Fils).

This is very bad news for his opponents as he has terrific shots that usually push the other guy way beyond the bottom line. Sinner is amazing this year but people forget easily. Look at what those 3 did and all those records. It's hard to believe actually. For example Federer made 23 grand slams semi finals in a row (that's close to six years in a row), won 24 finals (when he made the final) in a row between 2003-2005 (second is Djokovic with 16). 5 Wimbledons and USO in a row. In 2006. played 16 finals and won 12, all 4 grand slams finals and won 3 (for comparison Sinner won 8 finals, played 9 and two grand slams both on hard court). Was number one for 5 years straight in weeks. Then we have Nadal and Djokovic, 14 times roland garros, Djokovic 11 AO, 8 times number one of the entire year. I do think Sinner is on that level on hard court this year (not on clay, grass not yet either) but it is 'only' one year. But don't fall for the recency bias, it is a bit daft.

    Volandri ha sulla coscienza la cocciutaggine di aver voluto far giocare Musetto, giocatore elegante, ma dalla scarsa personalità. Se non ci pensava a togliere le castagne dal fuoco San Sinner a Volandri, stsera l Italia veniva eliminata al 90%. Senza San Sinner l Italia vale poco o niente.

    • @al1976-v7m

      What are you talking about? Musetti is technically the 2nd best ranked Italian player. Cerundolo just had a really good day. I'm just surprised that Sinner and Bertettini are such a deadly combo in Doubles.

    • @francobernardini1752
      @francobernardini1752 2 месяца назад +1

      Beh no, ci sono altri giocatori di gran valore. Berrettini , che in Italia, e' secondo solo a Sinnere e che spero presto torni tra i primi al mondo, Sonego puo' ancora ritrovare se stesso, Bolelli e Vavassori sono molto bravi nel doppio, parecchi giovani che si confermeranno l'anno prossimo. Musetti potrebbe ancora essereun grande ma uno che bestemmia anche le poche volte quando vince e' da lasciare a casa. Bruttissimo esempio agli adolescenti che si avvicinano al tennis. In Davis ci dovrebbero essere solo giocatori simili tra loro, altrimenti non c'e' gioco di squadra.
