      🤣🤣 They should really make a rule that forces one of the players (could be a draw or coin toss) to wear a secondary national colour, when they are similar, in tennis as well, or at least for team competitions with national representation.
      I know you can kind of understand which is which depending on player styles and mannerisms, or slightly different shades, but it still requires unnecessary focus, and if you don't know the players or are a casual tennis fan it can be seriously annoying to follow the match and detracts focus from just enjoying the tennis display...

  • @thesvinet
    @thesvinet 2 месяца назад +2

    I'll keep on saying it, Musetti, if hey switches to a two handed backhand, will be absolutely amazing. His one hander is the single biggest factor in losing matches. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

    • @J.-M.
      @J.-M. 2 месяца назад +7

      One of the most clueless things I keep reading here. His greatest problem, by far, has always been his forehand technique. It has always been the No. 1 reason for the majority of his losses (along with his mentality, which he has improved a lot). His backhand is fine, one of the best one-handers on tour. But the forehand is, and always will be, by far the most limiting factor in his game, wonky and fragile.

    • @sebastiancastellanos6165
      @sebastiancastellanos6165 2 месяца назад +2

      Let me figure this out... How many GS semifinals you have? I think is important if you are so light headed to giving some advice if you never been up there but if you did please share your name so we can look for it and see how valuable is to consider switching a top 20 player to 2HBH

    • @dastanprobg2071

      @@J.-M. have to agree, his forehand is his weakness, he basically had no chance against Cerundolo

    • @ultimatemanu1087
      @ultimatemanu1087 Месяц назад

      I seriously disagree. Of course like all his shots it can be improved even further, but his backhand is insane and just one highlight reel is enough to prove it imo. The single handed backhand offers him a lot of variety that can serve him quite well in some match-ups and it is definitely not the reason why he loses his matches. What he lacks in his backhand is the precision in key moments of the match, but his major weak spot is that he needs to adapt to modern tennis.
      His technique and shot variety is of the highest order, up there with Alcaraz, and he is very quick and agile, but suffers tremendously when he plays against baseliners who crush the ball side to side with precision because he lacks those two things to keep up the rally and ends up chasing the ball everywhere, getting exhausted and standing far from the baseline, which gets him in danger of getting "dropshotted", which is what happened for example in Chengdu against Jerry Shang (I don't know if you watched that match or follow Musetti regularly).
      I think he needs to work on his ability to truly become an all-court player and adding the weapons needed to compete against the top dogs (Sinner, Fritz, Zverev, Alcaraz, Rublev) on HC, specifically the technique to reach the strength and speed with both forehand and backhand needed to sustain a rally with those type of players, he's very young so if he works hard and smart, I'm sure he can do it and in 2-3 years reach a solid, consistent top 10 level (unless 5-6 aliens drop from the sky lol). He also needs a mental coach to help him keep the focus all match long and improve his decision making in the crucial moments of a match, otherwise he won't be able to aim for the top.

      Honestly I don’t think Fran would be able to play like this vs Sinner- anyone who’s not named Alcaraz has found himself having a huge amount of problems while trying to play his A game, and often got completely dominated by Sinner this season.
      Would probably be a closer match than Sinner vs Baez though.

      Musetti actually had the best period in his career in the previous 4 months, from June to October. He was playing the best tennis of his life, had great wins with plenty of confidence, and some very good results (and some early losses, too, but he has never been consistent). He only lost steam in the last month or so, but I think he'll be fine at the start of the next season.
