Florida Mini-Mini-Lobster Season (July 14th)

The Florida Governor declared the 14th of July would be an additional day of recreational lobster season that is open only to Florida residents. Both diving and bully netting are permitted during this time. For those of you who are diving, you may dive 1 hour before sunrise until 1 hour after sunset. As always, the Monroe county bag limit is 6 lobsters per person, per day. For additional information you can go to the links below.

Florida Lobster Diving Requirements
You must have the following:
Dive Flag
Each person MUST have a Measuring Gauge (in the water)
Florida Saltwater Fishing License with Lobster Endorsement
Optional but highly encouraged gear
Gloves
Exposure protection
Tickle Stick
Net or Snare (Snare is the best)
Lobster bag or Lobster Hotel (to hold your valuable catch in the water)

Only state waters are allowed. That's going to limit quite a bit of the reefs on the ocean side. Looks like Hawks channel and patch reef are the only legal areas to lobster for that Sunday.
