Knowing the mention of werewolves, after I saw the protag getting sent to France I was going "wait is this going to be related to Gévaudan, that would fit so well". Felt really good to see the name of that first area pop up.
Fun fact: The narrator is voiced by Robert Belgrade, the voice of Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, his Alucard voice was also in a Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2 fanmade game, he also voices as Radu in Wallachia: Reign of Dracula, and as OD in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
The Beast of Gevaudan was a real thing that killed a bunch of French peasants in the 1700s. Some of the villagers mentioned are real people involved in the hunt for it. Neat to see it as a theme for a game like this.

@@cybercop0083 @Invidente7 Thanks for mentioning it, I had never heard of this movie. I my case I heard of the Beast of Gevaudan on the Adeptus Ridiculous podcast
Also a curious sidenote, the movie Brotherhood of the Wolf is a fictional account of the hunt for the Beast, it inspired Bloodborne visually and it has Monica Belluci so its even more of a plus.
I always remember seeing the commercials as a kid. Probably can find it somewhere online to watch. Was it dubbed or subbed? I remember there being a French subtitle under the main movie title and I just want to prepare myself for desynced voices to mouths
The visual style reminds me a lot of the game Dex, a cyberpunk Metroidvania (sorry, "search action") title from a few years back. Looks fun, and I love the use of the Beast of Gevaudan as a backdrop for a game. I'll have to pick this up when it comes out.
Ah, OK. I used to hear, that it's called Dracula X, because it was the twnth released game, but then again I considered Bloodlines something of a CV5, even though my brain knows it was released after Rondo😂😂😂@@aweirdredtoad3637
Glad you made a vid on this dev, they dont look at first glance that amazing but this guy really knows how to make metroidvanias. Lecarde Chronicles 2 is a masterpiece. If you think taxidermy gallery is neat the stuff in LC2 is super classy horror but at the same time very refreshing, like the "modern art" section in Lucifers castle. This guy really nails the vibe. You should play with liam, matt. Its a fan game but one of the best castlevania games ive ever played.
I would love for a future castlevania game if we ever get one to have Draculas castle be populated by all sorts of like little civilisations of various types. Like a full ecosystem of societies of ghouls and goblins, not all hostile, just all living under draculas rule. I’d like that rather than a big empty fortress just filled with draculas jobbers. Like flesh it out with all sorts of colourful characters and villages of like various groups of fantastical peoples and creatures, where like they were chased out of the real world and all end up refugees in Draculas castle, with varying degrees of loyalty and perspectives on Dracula himself
Matt, I have to say that for the first 2-3 minutes of your video, I wasn't actually watching you yet, just listening, and hearing the shit you're saying, out of any kind of context, is just fucking hilarious. I heard "work the pole" and that made me snap to attention, like, what the hell is he doing? 😅 It helps that I'm high right now, but still, I thought it was very amusing. I love you and your channels.
Darn, Mateo should have been bitten by the Beast and "cursed" to transform in the intro. Big missed opportunity. Then he could be under plot pressure to cure his condition (even though we all know, like in the movie Van Helsing, we the audience would wish he wouldn't give up his precious gift). Can definitely see the Lecarde Chronicles bloodline in this one compared to Wallachia; I'm glad Migami is putting their Castlevania desires into actual marketable products.
So the redhead in green's the werewolf and I'm guessing not actually a villain in the end because you're both killing all the other monsters in France at the time?

I love how the end of the taxidermy level is that you find a secret chamber where the owner has been taxidermy-ing people
You can always leave it to the fans to do what Konami refuses too.
And what Konami refuses to do is anything that's NOT some sort of pachinko machine. :b

Is that Robert Belgrade as the narrator?
This game is giving off Lecarde Chronicles vibes and I'm for it.

Yeah! I learned about it in Bloodborne the movie, starring Monica Belucci, Mark Dacascos and that french Tekken 8 character!

Jc, "Skeleton Warriors"? I haven't thought about that show in decades.
I love the heck out of Mig's games so far. I still play Lecarde Chronicels 1 and 2 a few times every year ( especially the second game ).
Great games for sure

Was expecting significantly more wolf in this Chronicle.
Everything is made better with the addition of werewolves. Never forget that.

Listen to Legally Distinct Totally-Not Bloody Tears here, I love it
5:32 the skeleton boss says suck it with a DX crotch chop
Wait, did Castlevania never have a taxidermy area? That’s an awesome idea!
There might have been? I don't remember every area from every game, but I don't recall one from CV 1-5, which I think this game is homaging the most.
I think the closest thing would be that headhunter boss from Aria of Sorrow
@@flophouseplaysWhat is your Castlevania 5? Bloodlines? Rondo?

Wow, this is the first game I've seen in a while that I really want to play. Looks excellent.
I loved Lecarde Chronicles 2, perfect difficulty with unmatched atmosphere. This is definitely on my wishlist.

And just like that, the narrative shifts from Castlevania to An American Werewolf in London.
This game's music is serene...
Thank you for the Skeleton Warriors reference. I haven't been this happy since your WildCATS video.

15:00 Thanks for the STRENGHT up, bro.
The increase of robust and meaningful-style references is improving the khankent greatly. Big ups *snort*
This game looks fantastic! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. This is something I'll be wishlisting and buying for sure.
So the woman that saved you is 100% that big Werewolf, right?
Oh, no doubt
The game is giving me snes vibes. I’m looking forward to playing the game when it comes out. Did the developer say we can turn into a werewolf too?
This looks awesome 😎 thanks for sharing
I agree with the title. Everything is better with Werewolves.
the knock back seems pretty fair
I was expexting the song Beast of Gévaudan from Powerwolf to be mentioned

CURSED BONES
This looks pretty sweet! I hope they get a little more crazy with enemy design and not just stick to your bog standard bats, rats and skeletons.
Aside from that dollar general skeleton boss this looks awesome

Looks good. What platforms? Hope it comes to Switch.
Basically castlevania at home.
Almost forgot: that Daigo joke was perfect.

Aw did Matt not even look at the portrait of the item seller? She seemed like his kinda lady!
Very robust style content
Isn't the plural for Moose, Meece? Or Moosuses?
"It's pronounce Nu-Cu-Lar."- Homer
Remember kids; Castlevania starts a Wind Waker
I prefer the NES/SNES style action castlevania like Bloodstained CotM, but I don't mind this either!
RIP Mattyfatty. We're in a new era of greasy content.
Ok, damnit, what is the song at 10:58? I know it. But what is it??? Don't make me shazam it :(
is matty fatty to fart lord considered a glow up?
but. castlevania already had werewolves? there was a whole, albeit noncanon, game about them even
Meant that Dracula/Vampires were replaced with Werewolves as the primary enemy.
