Hog was clearly not a comfort pick. He was just forced onto it because he couldn't play the game without self-healing.
That's pretty much what I do in Quick Play. I mean, if nobody's healing you, what other choice do you have? Either you feed and subsist on health packs, or you pick something with a self-heal. It's not always idea, but there are often limited options.
That’s why i main zen and lucio, with zen i just spam harmony orb on everything that moves, and lucio you just hit a button when a fights happening.
@@Malidictus Well the issue is that if you can't manage your shield you'll never get better at damage mitigation.
Tanking isn't only about eating damage and being healed. Sometimes you have to know hoe to avoid damage.
There's a lot of opportunities to get cheeky corner fire strikes or corner swings. Play angles with with payload and switch out with Sigmas shield. They were running double shield so he really shouldn't have been taking as much damage.
So if he was going to play rein he should he have been prepared to do so. When he feel back on Dva & Roadhog two tanks that depend on aggressive playstyles it helps you understand why he was unsuccessful as rein.

I main Hog, and even I often pick him purely because the healers aren't doing their one and only job.
The thing that's driving me crazy is when they DO heal him, it's almost NEVER to full hp. Rein had every reason to say "fuck y'all" and grab a health pack but he stayed and did his job.
At this point I would have played either Zarya or Winston so you can get heals yourself. Its just not worth it relying on bronze heals. I climbed out of bronze myself with all three roles and I can confidently say: If you are a heal in bronze and think your team is at fault for not ranking up and you are doing your job....you are NOT! Its literally impossible to be bronze with Moira, Mercy, Lucio or even Bap, unless you are hardcore throwing. Moira especially.
@@realglutenfree i climbed out of bronze with rein, but since frontlining was impossible due to no heals, i played flank rein. i pinned their main healer from the back and hammered the whole team, then died. i usually took down 3-4 guys each death.

Absolutely I’m in gold so I’m not even that good but I have an old account that was in bronze (no I did not make a new one to smurf I just wanted that one out of bronze cuz I like the skins I have on that account). So I played Ana and Mercy only and it’s crazy how good some bronze tanks are when they actually get healed, I have 80% ana winrate and I’m not even that good I just heal my team

It’s all a cycle, if a support doesn’t heal the tanks we can’t fight for map space cause then we’re just “feeding” and if the dps don’t get those important picks we can’t push either. I’ve won games with horrible dps players who couldn’t even kill a 10hp enemy but that was only cause I had good support players.

If I learned anything from this video it's that bronze Soldiers eat free. Just completely uncontested damage the entire game, and they can heal themselves while the supports are off in DPS Narnia. I think Mikro was hooking and meeleeing because he saw people doing the hook, shot, melee combo but didn't realise they were shooting in the middle. Heartwrenching to watch.

Yeah, there’s a lot of advice out there for following up a hook with melee to max the burst damage. It’s definitely, Hook, Primary Fire melee.

i have a triple bottom 500 account, playing anything but hog you just dont get healed at all because everyone expects you to play super passive instead of making space lol. I do feel for the low level bronzes having to deal with the dps moira and idle mercy supports in every single game
I know that feeling. Once you actually climb out from a rank that you've been hardstuck at for years it finally gives you the confidence to play much better and the next rank feels a lot better happened to me with gold until I was 1 game away from plat
I agree, getting out of the bronze is very difficult. It took me over a month. Then I got to gold in a few days. Bronze is a roulette with a lot of leavers, a lot of smurfs and even more people who don't understand how this game works at all. Random

In the lower levels I’ve noticed that healers will either top you off and forget you exist or they will be pocketing one person on the team and when you pop off they switch to you
Because sadly in bronze. Team work is not a thing. Best way to climb as support. Is to use playmakers like Ana or Zen. Or mercy pocket the standout player

@@mellowvalentine9354 Yes. During my time there. There was the occasional player. That had some idea of what they were doing. They weren't no God, but they were competent. So I'd just pocket them. Which was enough of a boost to enable them to carry.
Usually these stand out players. Played simple yet effective heroes like Soldier or Rein. And could some what hit shots. Or wasn't scared to get in the enemies face as Rein.
Most bronze players. Play the more complex heroes. And straight up lack the skill or game sense needed to be effective. I.E shooting air as Widow, Or using Winston like a trash version of reinhardt. Don't waste heals on those players

You'd be surprised how easy it is to roll an enemy team just from bronze heals not needing to worry about the dps's 12 missing hp.

I was part of the day one big where if you didn't place for a few seasons on ow1, then they'd place you in bronze in ow2. And I can say without a doubt that this is VERY common. It's easy to say that it doesn't until someone like Flats uploads a vod of it on YT, but it happens A LOT. That said, people tunnel vision like crazy down there. They get sensory overload mixed with adrenaline and dopamine and it makes them very bad and that in turn makes them salty and toxic. So yeah....

Now I understand why most bronze players want Mercy. Because her offensive dps isn't as powerful as other supports, they have less incentive to dps.
I queued for comp with friends for the first time and I'm a bronze mercy main. We couldn't get through the choke on first point Anubis. Eventually I ulted and sniped three different players, making callouts as the enemy team realized someone was back capping. Then one of my friends said "why is our Mercy making better plays than the rest of us" I laughed :)

Might be from watching high level hogs, since the hook/shot/melee combo animation cancels the shot so quickly some may not notice it, especially if they're not paying close attention

I'm thinking it's the "12 hogs 1 hole" game mode, personally. It could also be the other thing, but the melee in the hook-shot-melee combo looks very different compared to just a bog-standard melee after hook. He'd have to be not wearing headphones as well, to not hear the shot go off.

A year ago my brother was telling me this is how it was playing rein in bronze. I legit didn't believe him and told him he just needed to git gud. God I'm sorry, I had no idea.
That's what my brother said when I was hardstuck in silver for 2 months on dps, he told me I just wasn't good enough. I told him no, I either don't have space or half my team just straight up feeds when I get 1 or 2 kills. Eventually he said I'll play a few games myself and see how it is. He told me I was right after playing 10 games and losing 6 of them. He said he either didn't have space, had feeders, didn't get healed or 2+ diamond smurfs in other team lol. Only reason he tried though was because of me having a second account and I straight up carried 5 games in a row as low gold dps when playing on that account with him lol.

i'm guessing the reason he melees after every hook is because he thinks that's all the combo is. he watched a streamer land the hook and one shot someone, but didn't see that they shoot first then melee

Idk man our second healer respawned and healed me dude must ve been stoned or something, i was wondering why our heals were so bad, so i watched the replay, dude was playing on a controler and did not look up even once, left to right was his max potential

@@mstrswrdsmn21 "Peeling" is when one player, typically in OW1 it was the off-tank but could be any player, "peels" from the frontline to support the backline when they get dived. It is something I did when playing Zarya off-tank. If my supports got dove by a Genji, Tracer, Winston, etc... I would turn around and protect them with bubble and push the diving enemy, giving space for my supports to escape.

I like playing Moira aggressively but freaking hell man this guy asked 4 times for heals when he was low and not even because he randomly pinned in and miraculously managed to get out alive, man couldn't catch a break. Also, I think (and hope) he was just missing his timing on the hook shot melee combo, although seeing him miss all that times was painful to see

Last night I noticed our tank was pretty good, we duo and climbed 400sr before hopping off for the night. Sometimes it really is your team keeping you in bronze, especially as a Reinhardt main
There's a reason why bronze to low plat is still considered elo hell. You basically need to trio stack in each role to get anywhere in the game or get extremely lucky you get a teammate or 2 who actually are trying to climb out of elo hell.
@@xsomewhattoxic I really wanted to believe that some people are just at a peak skill in silver/gold and that's fine, I am going to be one of those people. But when I match up with good teammates and we stay in a group and we get back all the SR we lost that night...man it really makes you wonder. I do think that the algorithms are set up in a way that only rewards players who keep playing more as opposed to contributions and that's annoying af.
play in stack and in solo are completly different experience,the stack Is way easier.
i had a problem with internet and got tons of unwanted DC's, i Lost tons of sr for that, dropping from 2300 -2400 to 1400 in tank and support.
in the same season, gaining 23sr per match in soloqueue, i managed to climb back to my original sr and even to rank up a bit more on tank, so here Is the thing: yea the team can hold you back and i felt like i had to really carry hard some matches and other matches were Just impossible to carry with my "onlygold/plat" skill, so Is not Easy ti climb and you Need to grind cause i got 23 se per win and nearly 30 for a Loss, but still Is not impossible, so if you are really stucked in soloqueue, the Truth probably Is that you deserve that rank or that your real rank Is not much highter.
also there are a few Place in sr that can be difficult to pass : 1650 up to 1850, cause Is the favourite Place for Smurf but also for throwers that want to reach bronze, and then there Is 1950-2050, cause most of new people Will be placed there at least on their First match they will for sure, so you Will find real noobs, good players that want to create a different account, bad players Who want to create a different account, Smurfs Who want to throw and reach bronze, Smurfs Who want to stay in Gold and boost some friends to diamond, Is litterally a mess, but at least there people can shoot and at least have some basics of the game in their mind, at least most of them.
in conclusion, It May Be difficult, but for sure not impossible to rank up if you deserve that.
i'm currently at almost plat again, still low elo but i feel i deserve that rank, cause with 20 FPS at lowest graphic on and old laptop and with a not stabile connection i feel that i'm struggling in some games and at the same time i'm doing well in other.
people are Just too obsessed with ranks,there Is nothing bad on being bronze, silver , Gold plat and so on, Just have fun and try to improve.
FUN fact: when i dropped at 1400 support i had a Match on router 66 were i was litterally carrying with Mercy,i had 2 deaths in 4 rounds and top heal of the match, tons of dmgboost, a good ammount of res and a few Blaster kills, they still managed to blame me, they told me i suck and i was the worst bronze healer they ever met, 7 days later i was at 2200 ( currently 2300, still ranking up), they harasses me cause i have a plat border and i "still was bronze", they did not believe me when i told them i usually play in borderline plat ( i have a private profile cause i hate toxic people), so i Just let them talk and left them at their home ( bronze). gess now Who Is still in bronze probably blaming his " bad healers" ? so yea, people do Always think that their team Is holding them back, even when they are actually not and most of the time Is not your team, or at least not ONLY your team

I think they just legitimately don’t know the combo. If you don’t know there’s a shot in the middle and just see it on stream, they probably think they are doing it right because it looks right.

I feel so bad for mikro. I don't blame him for going afk towards the end of this match cause the dude wasn't getting healed anyway, their team for sure didn't give a fuck about helping so why should mikro care, whatever he was doing when afk was probably more important considering his team didn't think he was important.
The hook melees make sense if you think about it, they see their fav streamers shoot and melee so fast that you can’t see the shot all you see is the melee so maybe that’s all they think you do 🤷🏻♂️

Have to admit this is one of those games you can actually blame the healers. Im usually a support main but once i play tank i have to beg for heals as well. Even when no enemy in sight they still refuse to heal me full … those players have 5k healing, get gold medal and think they did good…
The funniest thing about this vid is that all of the people we spectate have always said no heals and they got tunneled with heals but this mans had no supports. I also feel this rien could have done so much better if he got heals.

I managed to climb my tank from bronze to plat, and I can’t thank those good healers enough. You can play amazingly well but if you don’t get healed you’re going to get rolled.
and that's why we play Hog, Sigma or Ball. playing an off-tank (edit: or rather a tank that needs less heal) got me into Plat almost immediately

I intentionally only played maintank to see if I could get into plat on a new account. Turned out I could, but it really depends on your teammates how good you can preform as maintank especially with the ever present roadhog and me refusing to play orisa.

Even in Gold/Plat, I still find myself in situations like this where our Ana/Bap/Moira/Lucio are too busy trying to DPS and i'm running on 20hp. This is why I play Dva. I've gotten really good at baby Dva in order to remech and basically heal myself. I try going to health packs but our DPS are usually camping them. I figure they're probably DPS mains who want queue tickets so they pick the most DPS-possible support.
Bap is legit the easiest DPS-like healer to learn as a DPS tho. Literally all you have to do other than play Soldier is stack behind your tanks and hold right click while DPSing. It's so easy and for some reason no one under masters even thinks about it. Hell, even when I go "just hold both buttons down" I swear I can hear their brains short circuit right before they tell me "na, that's way too hard."
In plat I'm forced to pull out the tanks to win. I accidentally became a tank main.
@@mage3690 When I play Bap, I am constantly just holding down both buttons in a fight as a habit now. There's legitimately no reason not to especially if you have dive tanks.
I think the reason he kept melee-hooking was he either saw the pro players usually get a finishing melee blow after a hook, not knowing they shoot first, or maybe he was just trying to melee as soon as possible after a shot, that he ended up doing it before he shot, either way, as a hog main, that was painful to watch, but I feel his pain in the first round as rein
100% the Moira came into the game tilted as hell and was like "ok fine i'll kill stuff myself" and took it to the extreme
This is a slap in the face of anyone think that healers are NEVER to blame everyone has a role to do and when you don't do it you ARE to blame no matter the role so you can work on yourself and be better.

he probably actually DID have gold despite playing hog at the end of the game lol. I don't play the game much but when I first placed, I placed in silver. I climbed to plat after not too long, but I have played games with bronze before as well... They were always the hardest games I played because at least 3 of your teammates are just eating crayons all game.
Man’s, get this poor Rein/DVA the healers he deserves. Pealing for his back line, making space, not randomly charging, getting picks, distracting enemies.

His Dva was awful too lol. I can tell that Rein is their best hero by far but he probably has to switch to Dva or hog a lot because of supports like these. At that point he should just stick to learning hog and Dva more and ditching rein until he climbs to gold.

@@karamei there were so many times they were 200 HP, had both boosters and full DM and didn’t fly away or eat damage lol. I’d argue their Dva was worse than their hog lmao, but their hog was truly terrible so idk.
As a support, and Moira main, this hurt my soul. I may not be the best at it, but I sure as hell would’ve made sure that a decent Rein player stays alive.

honest to everything, when you do spectating bronzes and you talk about shielding sams, it's because this is unironically 90% of rein games in bronze. healers in bronze try so hard to be a hard carry to "have impact" that they just don't heal.

For a moment, I felt like Flats was going to lend this poor tank ML7 on a smurf account so he could actually feel what it's like to get healed.
You see the medic/heal signal on them when they are low. So I question the gods why Bap just healed him twice barely half health and went to dps. As a healer main I get the occasional "WHY ARENT YOU HEALING ME" comment but they are always from tank/dps, flanking and or over extending to where I can't help. But the man was ALWAYS with his team, so why he only gets crumbs of healings.

as someone who plays rein on bronze/silver level I can admit to the fact that I see cover as more valuable than healing.
if i got money for every time i had to walk to a health pack while the healers are dps'ing....
to lighten it up a bit; on bronze/silver level the healers are either f'ing awsome and sticking their healing so deep in my backend that i can taste the object they healed me with,
OR
i just do not exist at all... there's not much in between.
and yes, i know what i'm talking about. yesterday i played in masters at my friends place and it's absolutely a complete world of difference.
whenever i made a play as rein, people had my back: something i don't experience in bronze/silver as much as i noticed happening on masters.
sidenote: i play all 3 roles and almost all characters
Well, to be fair, as a support you do have to do both - keep your team up and do damage. My theory is that every support starts by learning one of the two aspects first - either they healbot hard and don't know how to do damage, or they start by DPSing and have to learn how to balance that with heals. Down in Bronze, this one-sidedness is very obvious and hugely amplified.

When I still played Overwatch, I was mostly tanking and in Bronze... And I feel this guy so hard. How are you expected to soak all the damage when the healers wanna play Tracer?
Not long ago on Kings Row attack I got destroyed on Rein. I made a note to go back and check the replay to see what I missed by clearly I made a mistake and missed 1 or more people shooting at me. Turns out I was right I wasn't taking that much damage. What I did find was that both my Ana and my Moira were behind me, cool downs up, and DPSing. Didn't even attempt to heal.
This was in a 3k game. So everyone was between 2800ish and 3200ish. It was a rough game and we did win but it turned both supports where trying to DPS a lot.
I just started watching your videos today... and it inspired me to pick up overwatch again. and I had my best Ashe game I've ever had. I shotgunned both enemy tanks off a cliff and I'm still riding that high
The faint Windows DUN sound when Flats swears is hilarious. It is barely audible on my piece of *DUN* phone and it could be that I am going crazy from sleep deprivation but I swear thats what I hear.

@@Siks7Ate9 yes, you can do rightclick - left click to shoot a burst after shooting a healing nade. Not sure but I think it delays the next nade just slighty, and of course forces you to jerk your aim around alot. But it's still in the game and a skill one should learn.
@@blackm4niac yeah I just haven't played bap in a while, used to be able to do that seemlessly. Good enough that I got told to stop smurfing quite often while climbing 400 sr
In this Easter, please help these poor broze tanks by dropping your sr to bronze and healing them. Your 1 hour of time can save these poor tanks from broze hell. A little charity means a lot to them.

Ball,dva or hog. Honestly mobility and health packs is how you get out of bronze.
Just lock hog. My effectiveness is much higher when I play hog simply cos I can keep myself alive longer. Rein is so much fun but main tank in low elos is impossible

When I spectate my bronze Rein main friend it's a coin flip. Either he gets all the heals or he gets no heals. You get Mercys hard heal beam pocketing full HP Reins or you get the hard inting DPS Moira getting flash and fanned on cooldown. It's a fantastic elo to spectate.

I'm an orisa main in low silver and I feel this in my soul. I always say THANK YOU when a healer saves my ass. Had someone in comp not long ago tell me stfu stop being so sarcastic and do some damage (mind you I at least had bronze damage) because I spammed thank you to my healers 🙄

The sad thing isn't the lack of healing. The sad thing is he only got healed when he stood on Lilantis's ass. Every time I saw the supports healing, it was primarily focused on Lilantis. Sometimes Mikroch got lucky and was in the right spot at the right time to get healed, but this screams to me a 3-stack trying to climb with Lilantis going "NO ONLY HEAL ME! I'LL CARRY!"
Not saying it's definitely the case, but it definitely looks like a game where a stack only focused each other. I ran into it plenty of times where I'm thinking "OK I have ult, Mercy has a safe rez....and WHY IS SHE GOING IN THE BACKLINE REZING THE ULTLESS SOLDIER SHE'S POCKETING?", or I'll stand in front of Mercy as she just...damage boosts her pocket until I go off to get a health pack. It's part of why if I have a Pharah in comms and I'm on support, I'm telling her I'm not hard pocketing her so play safe - I understand that leaving the pocket is necessary at times, especially if they're getting hard countered and won't swap.
I had a phara leave because i told her "no i will not do the pharmercy combo, its boring and not helpful"

as someone who was stuck in bronze for a long time, this is unfortunately just the way it works. it's why all the characters i play self heal and/or can easily go grab a health pack, cause relying on bronze healers is a fool's errand
i feel really bad for mikrochelik but these dps only healers are in plat also. this guy have seen hogs hook and melee but he didnt notice the shot first :) atleast hes trying
