You get low mileage of 10 because of 2 reasons - You're driving a petrol (a turbo one at that) in mountains at high RPMs, its going to burn more fuel and other is that you always drive at insanely fast speeds with too much throttle. VAG cars (maybe others too) have an intelligent ECU which learns your driving pattern and gives you performance or mileage based on that. Since you do so many drag races, the ECU has learnt to give you maximum performance from the engine at the cost of mileage. If you were to drive the car sedately like normal people do, it would give you really good mileage. I have a Taigun 1.0 TSI MT and I am able to consistently get (without trying much or hyper-miling)- In City - 12-13 kmpl in moderate to heavy traffic, 15 kmpl in light traffic and 9kmpl in Delhi/ Noida bumper to bumper traffic. On highways - 18-21 kmpl with 4 people + luggage for 4 (full boot) + AC set at 20.5 in peak summers (at speeds between 90-110). People have extracted till 25-26 kmpl driving 1.0 TSI at 60-70 kmph in 6th gear. Since 1.5 TSI is more fuel efficient than 1.0 TSI, you can extract more than what I get with it.
