Honestly you are such an inspiration. Being fearless isn’t about not being scared it’s about being scared and doing it anyway and you did that and honestly that is incredible hard to do as I couldn’t do it ❤❤
100% agree with this. In my opinion, a lot of young riders are not brave, they are inexperienced and a bit ignorant of the risks. When you have experience under your belt, have had some nasty falls, and actually realise how wrong it can go, it's a lot harder to be brave. Next level is learning and repeating and repeating and repeating systems and methods until you trust them. I can't wait for that bit. So exciting. Love masterclasses like this! ❤❤❤
Wow, how good were you. Its daunting enough being with an Olympic team manager and a very experienced 5☆ event rider, but do do it in a small indoor arena with so many people watching a huge well done. What a brilliant and exciting opportunity ❤😊
Thrilled that you rode with Richard! I did a clinic with him and it changed my riding and improved my confidence tremendously. He's incredible! To be trained by him, in the same arena as one of my favourite riders; Laura Collette, must have been unbelievable! Here's what I noticed: You and Jam belonged there, in that company. You held your own and I was incredibly impressed. You rode very well and Jam was stellar and you produced her from a gangly baby to the confident athlete she is today. I hope you are very, very proud of yourself, your work and your pony because you should be!
That was brilliant Meg! Very well done! To have a lesson in front of so many people and on TV, you kept calm and did everything Laura did, under a lot of pressure. Dick is a brilliant teacher. The way he explained everything made it so easy to understand. His attention to every detail was amazing. You should be very proud of yourself. 👏👏👏
Thank you for posting this Meg! You and Jam did a fantastic job! I can't even imagine the pressure you must have felt, but you rode your heart out. Jam is such a talented, honest pony. Well done! ❤
I love the concept and execution of this demo. What an incredible learning experience for you and us, so glad you were able to share it here! You rode so well and it was nice to hear Dicky complimenting you. Jam is a superstar!
It was great to see this in person 😃!! Spot me 👩🦽and mr Presley 🐕🦺 on the side of the arena with the best view ever next to the fence 🥰. It was great to have a chat with you the evening before (and meet Pete too!!) and say hi in the morning too. Honestly you’re such a genuine person and it was great to see you just being you. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement, it meant a lot to me.
Great riding Meg! Jammy going so so well and you putting all the pro’s advice into practice and not pulling and riding nice and rythmically and confidently! Honestly it’s so easy to get the advice and sometimes so hard to actually do it but you smashed it. Loved Laura’s coaching too. Maybe next vlogmas a Laura lesson?
BTW Meg, you could have flying changes in a week if you work at it. Do that exercise Dickie had you do where you do one step of trot and then canter, but do it from lead to lead (L lead, trot one step, R lead, etc.). In no time you will have a flying change. And it's high time you had them!
Megan You are the legend. Just remember you taught that pony all that And you call her a legend. Believe in yourself It’s ALL YOU. Such an inspiration to us. Another awesome vlog. ❤
For the film makers: I prefer less close ups during the course-pull back a bit so can see the horse jumping the fences to watch strides, bascule, landing etc. Very evident in Meg’s last course. Thank you!
They were also mostly having the camera on Laura and even though she’s a good rider I need to see Meg actually going up to the jump and not just when she makes it over like at 12:42
Absolutely agree, it was frustrating to watch at times. Such a shame as an amazing demo! Meg rode beautifully and Jam looked superb. Pete's filming is world's ahead of H&C!
Thank you so much for sharing the training session. You two were little superstars 🦄 . I'll have to make sure I get my ponies sorted before 8pm tomorrow 👍 I have been looking forward to seeing the Talland takerover, I absolutely love Pammy. 🙌🙌💜
This opportunity was incredible and you took full advantage of it. Jammie was truly amazing. I watched every moment of it. I went out to ride after watching it and was doing some cavaletti grids, I found myself really trying to control the shoulder as we were coming around the corners. So thank you for bringing us the masterclass!!
That was the best video you have done. It showed how you sell yourself short. You are an amazing rider who really learns from each lesson. Congratulations to both you and Gem.
Happy new year!! 🌟You were incredible here especially after Jam's injury, she was so good and i loved your confidence!! Slightly screaming whenever Dickie calls Jam a 'he' LMAO but that's ok he is so good at what he does
Wonderful job Meg! Dickie seemed really impressed with you (as he should). And Jam sure is a star. She held her own with the 4star horse just fine! Well done both of you.
You did great Meg! Jammy tried so hard and is so honest. It is so interesting how riding styles have changed over the years. When I was learning to ride in the 70’s it was all about the crest release and bending forward over the jumps- many old style riders still do this. Now all about looking up and almost standing in the stirrups a bit over the jumps and not throwing yourself forward. Keep looking up! Thanks again for this. ❤
Ah that was an amazing video to watch, thanks for sharing it. :) I loved your bravery and oh my gosh your focus with everything going on! I thought there were some excellent nuggets of advice and you could see the improvement in you and Jam. Can't wait to see what this year holds for you, Jam and all the ponies!
Brilliantly done! To watch this after the beautiful reel you posted earlier and see such big smiles coming out of that line with Laura coaching you along. Fantastic! Absolutely amazing to see that. You are such an inspiration for someone like me with jumping anxiety of their own.
You and Jammy were brilliant!! What a challenging master class, and amazing coaching! I loved watching, cheering you on, and celebrating your amazing successes!! A true dream team ❤
So wonderful to watch this. You are brave. Jam is brave and like I’ve heard so many times from so many coaches through the years. Trust your canter. I’m a far bigger wuss than you but I can see it. See when you let your guard down or is it up? I don’t know but Jammie’s canter is brilliant and you want to go to the reins but you don’t need to. This proves it! You were so gracious and excited and concentrating on every word. Watch it over and over and tell yourself everything is fine. Beautifully done and with an Olympic rider no less. Connie power! Can’t wait till Wilma is doing this too!
Happy new year meg. Just wanted to say I thought you & jam bam was so fantastic in your London international horse show lesson. It's a big shame the man who was teaching you couldn't tell that jam is a mare and not a gelding or stallion and kept calling jam a he throughout of the lesson but still really interesting to watch and see how much confidence you really had going over those scary jumps. Well done to you meg your a such an incredible rider and wish u all the best of luck for 2024 through your courier as a event rider
Fantastic riding Meg! You and Jammy were incredibly concha le, and Jammy’s rideability improved from start to finish. You could really see a positive carry over from her school with Piggy and your school with Brownie. Overall, the ride looked so poised and collaborative between you two- can’t wait to see what lies ahead for you both!
Loved this! Would love a lesson or two with Dickie he’s fabulous! It’s good you don’t get it spot on all the time, that’s how we learn! Thanks for sharing Meg and bloody well done 👏
Meg that was incredible!! 👏The first thing I noticed during your introduction was how much you’re glowing! Not that you normally aren’t, but there’s something different, no doubt after that amazing experience ❤
Happy New year to YOU and all your family. That looked like an amazing exercise. Take care and I here you and Tina have been planning your badminton horse trailer for 2024 .Take care and all the best. 😄😄😄👍👍👍💟💖 GIVE ALL the horses a BIG pat from sue in coventry.
Meg ! You are an inspiration for me to overcome my anxiety with jumping and to get back out there, I felt nervous watching this so can’t imagine how you felt 🤣
I love how Dicky’s teaching really suits you. You are understanding it 100% there is no maybe he means this maybe he means that. He makes it very black and white for you! You can see the difference instantly! Amazing!
Just wow! You and Jammy are just a golden duo 😍 Can’t wait for the season to start to see you two doing what you do best 🥳 Very impressed with the transitions with just one step of trot as well, that and how fast Jammy reacts to your weight shifting in „racing seat“ just shows how well and precise you trained her in all aspects. Love all the take ways Meg! I hope you put these on record and listen in your ear as you ride… you’re such an inspiration Meg and as a follower I’m proud of you for being brave!!
I LOVED this! You and Jam were epic! I’m not the most confident rider in the world when it comes to jumping. I can do very well at home and at competitions where there are a good number of other competitors in my division, so I don’t feel like all eyes are on me. However, when I’ve done big night time classes under the lights (whether it’s a jumper Mini-Prix or a National Hunter Derby-yes, I’m from the U.S.), and there are a lot of spectators, and the announcer does the whole deal of introducing you and your horse, and reading a short bio about your riding experience as you are coming into the arena…that is when I just about pee my pants! 😂 I can have won all of the “normal” daytime classes at the same fence height and similar course set-ups, but as soon as the spotlight is on me and I know I have an audience focused solely on me, my nerves get the best of me, and I feel like I forget how to ride! So HUGE kudos to you for doing this great demonstration event, not only with the pressure of trying to do as well as the 5* rider, but with a large audience there AND the whole thing is televised…. That takes SO much courage!! I’ve watched all of your videos by now (huge fan), so I’m sure that you were very nervous while doing this. However, you appeared very calm, professional, and made it look easy and elegant. That is just fantastic to me! I hope I get to a point where I can conquer my nerves during the “special” jumper classes, which usually have the OTHER added stress of costing a lot to enter bc we are competing for a cash prize. That always ups the ante for me even more, bc I think to myself “I HAVE to do this perfectly, so that I can at LEAST earn back my entry fee!”😂 Of course that just serves to raise my anxiety and I end up riding like a monkey! 😂 So I am so impressed by how calm and well you rode Jam, and how good you both looked! Give yourself a HUGE pat on the back! *Btw, I am a show jumper and hunter jumper rider (yes, hunter jumping classes are a big thing in the US), and I’ve played over the cross country jumps I have on my farm, but binge watching your eventing videos for the last year has made me keen to try eventing for real! so fun - i love how full of joy you are when you complete something you're happy about! I can feel how you feel for a second! also: Dickie Waygood is one of the best names I've ever heard.
I like how he kept saying it's a TRAINING session. Very well done in such an environment. I get nervous enough riding alone in my private lessons haha.
Well done, Meg!! So chuffed tgat you took so much away from that one session with Dickie!! He's a true gentleman and I knew he wouldn't overface either you or Jam Jam. That is definitely something to watch over and over again, even for the advice he gave Karen can also apply to you when Jam or Wilma is "fresh". So proud you did this, Meg !! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer, wh is waiting on baby number 5!! Last one of the year for me, anyway. In Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
Very well done. What an opportunity, you both smashed it! Jam was brilliant! She coped so well with the atmosphere as did you. A great end to the year putting you in the right place for 2024. ❤
Such a great session! It seemed like Dickie was really good at boosting your confidence and making sure you could watch Laura do the exercises first so I hope it felt that way. Also as an aside I’ve been watching some of last years vlogmas and your technical riding and ability to get on a strangers horse and get it going nicely has actually improved so much - good luck for this year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR MEG AND JAM!!!!’ Well well done !!! I so enjoy watching your riding accomplishments !!!!! Congratulations to you & “him” 😆🤭
Thank you for posting this Meg! You and Jam did a fantastic job! I can't even imagine the pressure you must have felt, but you rode your heart out. Jam is such a talented, honest pony. Well done! ❤
Good gravy talk about pressure and under a microscope with another rider that won a Gold Team medal. WAY WELL DONE! Jam you are a little rockstar!!!!
I love the concept and execution of this demo. What an incredible learning experience for you and us, so glad you were able to share it here! You rode so well and it was nice to hear Dicky complimenting you. Jam is a superstar!

Stunning 😍
Amazing master class. Meg - you rode beautifully. I’m so impressed.
Jam is a star!
Wow Meg! That was phenomenal! To see you go from where your confidence was early in 2023 to doing that is amazing! 🎉
That was amazing. He is very good and you and Jam were brilliant of course!
Great job! Theme running thru vlogmas and this session...trust the canter. You and Jam did wonderfully!! Yea you!
Wow what an experience! And also funny to see Granite Lens around the ring doing his thing.
Watching you both do this was just so inspiring and motivating! Loved re watching it. How bloody epic do you both look! So proud of you 🥹❤️
Happy new year!! 🌟You were incredible here especially after Jam's injury, she was so good and i loved your confidence!! Slightly screaming whenever Dickie calls Jam a 'he' LMAO but that's ok he is so good at what he does
Him referring to Jam as a "he" drove me a bit mad too, lol. At least he wasn't calling Jam "it" like Rich did with Wilma in her lesson, LOL! ❤ 😂 🐎
@@annjohnson8437 LMAO true 😭
Fantastic! You did so well and rode brilliantly. What an amazingly positive coach Dickie is too, i really liked his style of teaching.
You’re a warrior, Meg. That took guts and you smashed it! ❤️from Michigan, USA
That was a fantastic watch. I learnt a lot and well done you Meg❤
Wonderful job Meg! Dickie seemed really impressed with you (as he should). And Jam sure is a star. She held her own with the 4star horse just fine! Well done both of you.
You’re gonna have the best 2024 on Wilma, and you’re such a inspiration for me and I I think everyone else
Wow, that was amazing!! Thanks Meg, what super riding - you both looked incredible 🤩
