As an American who LOVES India and its people. I'm glad India is fighting back and protecting its own companies and jobs. GO INDIA!!!!.
It blows my mind that every country in the world doesn't lobby America to keep raising tariffs on China / join in. The benefit to every country in the worlds economy by moving just some of China's manufacturing out of China would be enormous. If our companies can't operate freely in their country their companies shouldn't be able to operate freely in ours like they currently do. They are stealing the world's productivity intentionally via government policy. Its ridiculous that we all watch them do this and do nothing.

Before Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister we had the stupid Indian National Congress leading us for ages - a family led political party - who led India to ruins, stayed submissive to the world powers, cared more about their personal economic interests than the country’s. One of the main issues wasn't addressed in the video actually. The widespread success of Chinese phone brands depend on adds in os and data laundering. This helps them sell the product at a much lower price than the competition thus reach most households which are middle-class in terms of income.

Then comes the local politican at county level to national level. local politician gives contract to lay street roads for $10,000, but to govt he shows the bill of $100k, now think about how much big at each state and national levels 😀. Then comes the millions of shops from very small to very big, none pays the taxes!, trillions of tax money is lost here. the only one paying is white collar where tax is deducted at soure!All small to big indian companies does tax avasion. India need to go long way!

Chinese citizens are mostly involved in illegal activities outside of their homeland.
That is why I don't buy Chinese branded phones, no matter how sweet the deal is.
Yes we have many undesirable China people activities in the Phil and we should control them. But the most advanced enterprises that are legal , in all industries, and helping build the country in every sector are also from Chinese who have chosen to become Filipinos, instead of moving their money out... they are in fact on the net inviting more investors , market spenders, tech introducers into the Phil, and work hardest to help the country. They are also the biggest donors to charity, education, infrastrukcture, and training up the people. The biggest investments in the most fundamental enabler industries, unlike western investments which are mostly in consumer industries that send out their dividends. Did you complain during the periods when Americans took over all Phil industries, sent out the money , shot Filipinos and left babies in the bases ? / when Japanese Yakuza in the 80s controlled all the vice dens, along with Australians / when the MIdeast were lording it over Phil and abusing people ? What are the main business of many Indians in the Phil ? are the services all these people provide things Filipinos cannot do themselves? Let's build up the Philippines for all Filipinos. We have to look at events in history on the net benefit over time and evolving and help each other get better

The same applies to some US companies. Apple and Starbucks transfer profits as "intellectual property" charges or through low tax countries such as Ireland. All countries need to push back on this.
If USA tries to stop it, the company will just shift completely to low tax countries.. These companies do not get any benefit from being American companies.. Many multinational companies have already shifted their headquarters out of USA

The Samsung A52s is made in India (at least the version that is being sold in Europe) . I think India should continue to build on its relationship with South Korea and South Korean companies for inward investment. Samsung and Hyundai are good success stories in India and a real two-way partnership can develop, while helping both to counter China.

India, Bangladesh and Pakistan should ally and work with each other in developing a supply chain of finished goods comepting with China and developing South Asia into an economic hub.

India people are smart and they buy or prefer to buy Chinese's products with a reason. Emotional protectionism will not help. India has to come out products that people want to buy. Very thankful to the Indian government that they are taking steps toward industrial empowerment under the Make in India program. There is already a lot of tension going on in India but because of that we should never stop and we should always keep going on achieving new heights. Jai Hind.
I am from Air Conditioning sector & want to highlight that most of the compressors & many complete AC units are imported from China. We simply doesn't seem to be having capability of manufacturing those world class products, at least in this field. If any company tries to manufacture, it is costlier than importing from china. We seem to lagging behind a lot.
China has the resources and minerals.
China has the expertise and the infra structures.
China has the man power and the distribution system.
China has the big capital and the business know how.
If you do business without these above, a nation is bound to fail,

I wish and hope the Philippinrs and other Asian countries will have the teeth and guts to act like India against Chinese business ill practices. Their presence in the business marjet are far more advantageoud on their sides as they can dictate and influence to evade or avoid right paying taxes and pose risks to the security of one's country.
The smaller Asian countries don't have military, natural nor human resources to take on China. Much of their natural resources including fisheries and oil are in areas disputed by China which is stealing same openly.
Don't worry my friend. Our govt is finally doing this after a lot of wait and investigation, about 3-4 years after the Chinese companies had started doing these stuffs. I hope all the Asian governments will look upon these companies owned by china and investigate to the core.
Both India and China have only one thing in common... each one has more than a billion population/consumers. It ends there. India is english- speaking country while China is not. India is a democratic country while China is not. It really puzzles me why big manufacturers and corporations in the US, Europe, Japan, etc opted to put up businesses and manufacturing plants in China? Why not in India?

Corruption, lethargy, lack of cooperation, pretty much describes Indian workforce, and I am talking about the private sector. Everyone is waiting for a handout, without actually doing the work. By the time India becomes 'self-reliant' in so called technologies like assembling a goddamn phone or a car, all other nations will have bases on moon and mars.

Yes, we are lagging behind in electronics such as phones and computers, but you have given a blanket statement that all technology is 'piss poor'. If you want to talk about technology, India is already producing automobiles (including cars, trucks, buses, and railway coaches) and even exporting them. Tata and Mahindra export their vehicles globally. India is also the global leader in digital transactions (all locally developed). And I am not sure if you have any whiff of the space and defence technology. Please read it yourself online.

All nations should protect themselves against foreign abuse. However, local industries should not be over protected because they become complacent due to lack of competition and reduced innovation. Foreign competition and FDI will be beneficial to any nation as long as they foreigners play by the rules, and get punished if they do not (like India is doing with Chinese tech firms). I remember when in the early 90s many Mexican auto parts makers feared NAFTA (now TMEC) due to their perceived inability to compete with US and Canadian firms. Today, Mexico is the main supplier of auto parts to the US market because Mexican companies had to modernize in order to achieve this result. Blessings!!! 🙂

Almost every private company (foreign or domestic) tries to avoid tax in India. Vodafone also did the same; used a loophole in the Indian rule to evade the tax. Private companies will always try to maximize their profit anyway... if they find some loophole they will use that to maximize their profit. It is the government that is responsible to check that situation. However, our govt is corrupt... they intentionally keep some loopholes in law such that they can use that loophole.
