- Hi all I am back at the auctions this month looking for stock and in this short clip I show you a Jaguar XF which is arguably one of the cheapest I have seen at auction. The question is why ???

It’s so cheap because it sounds like a repair bill waiting to happen…
Oh yeah if it's ingenboom
More vids like this please, i find it very interesting.
Even to someone who knows nothing about cars I wouldn’t go near it from the sound!!
Always look forward to your content. 👌🏻
My friend saw a 73 Toyota Corolla for sale 1980 with 48k garaged and used by a nurse on nights hardly seen the light of day and virtually no rust and bought it ! Everyone assumed it was a rust bucket and hadn't bothered to look.
could have been a reasonable buy for a good DIY mechanic who doesn't count their own labour and enjoys repairing their own vehicles....not many of us around nowadays !
Mental. Shows how disposable new cars have become. Worthless after 8 years.
Scary isn’t it!
My wife’s last car( ford kuga) we part ex’d it at 8 years old with 135k on the clock needing a timing belt and a major service, ford gave us 6k for it towards a year old kuga. Literally 3 x what that Jag went for on a 8 year old hard worked family bus.
Try finding a decently priced similar sized Lexus of a similar age. Those are still expensive because they work.
Jaguars always depreciate! When my mum worked at Paramount Jaguar in the early '90s, her catch-phrase was 'there's no such thing as a cheap Jaguar.' And this was back when 5-year-old XJ40s part-ex'd could be bought for around £5,000. It's still pretty much the case today.
Jaguar was pretty decent in the Ford era. Now, both Jaguar and Ford are rubbish.
JLR 😱Ingenium 😱😱.
JLR = British Leyland.
High Peak Autos had a We Buy Any Car valuation of £60 for a slightly broken 59-plate XF a few months back. It had a couple things wrong with it, but it was not as terminal as this one.
People dont maintain cars, that's the major problem! It clearly says in the service manual to replace the timing belt after 100,000mil or 8 years which ever comes first. 12,200miles over the recommended changed..... bam!
People slagging Jaguar quality when its clearly people not following the service recommendations.
Run a bloody mile & don't look back 😂😂🎉
So its basically scrap after 8 years. Top Jaguar quality 😂
Oh. I thought this was the one he wanted out the car park 😂. It’s older though
Great video. I was thinking how much it would cost, and you answered me.
surprised you didnt slip a cheeky sponsorship in this video pal x
i have a 2007 jag s type done alot of work mins the 2.7 v6 they are money pits fun drive tho
Sounded more like a tractor 😮
Pretty hard value 2k rattly ( chain ) on an Ingenium. Didnt know a chain be £2 fix. Cars got expensive fix.
Not if you’re a mechanic it’s not.
@@damianleah6744 yes. Agreed. And as mentioned Lee. Sadly us traders just pay for work. Great buy mechanic type with free tine
It’s at the back like bmw. 😮 engine or gearbox out
Sounds like an old Lada engine
A Lada would last longer than 8 years 😂
@@andrewwaller5913 Haha very true!
That sounded horrendous.
Some people don't service their cars which can cause this, obviously not saying it was that in this case, but generally people are becoming more stingy when it comes to maintenance
With these it is often people following the manufacturers recommendations that get in trouble.
They have a ridiculous 20k/24 month service interval, when in reality they would benefit from servicing 3 times in that period. Combine that with way too much going on in the exhaust and poor design of several parts of a complicated engine to save money and you have the Ingenium.
Modern cars are being killed by the hoops manufacturers are jumping through for emissions standards. This means cars like this are being scrapped prematurely, ironically creating far more emissions building its replacement than ever could have hoped to be saved.
Meanwhile my old pre-Ingenium Jag trundles on with nothing more than regular oil changes.
@LiamE69 Jaguar has had ZF gearboxes for a very long time, and those are excellent. If your Jaguar is from the Ford era, it should be pretty decent. The petrol models had good Ford Duratec engines while the diesel models often had pretty OK Peugeot engines.
its a Shaguar 😁
Good candidate for an electric conversion 🤔
Baked beans cans conversion
Not worth a sausage that, engine is going make more bangs than a pan full of Walls.
I can see that being broken for bits.

cos its fucked.
wankered ingenium engine id say!
2.0 Ingenium diesel engine its the driveing dead..................... stretchy arm chain sorry strong
Cos it's junk
Them jags are crap in the 2.0d I've an old 2010 3.0 tdv6 xf 201.000 miles still pulls like a train. I've spent thousands on it but still going well 😂 old 2.0d are a very poor show I'd never buy 1. 3.0 v6 supercharged next forget the dirty old diesels
Because it is a Jaguar?
