Tim Holtz has such a fantastic grungy aesthetic, and it pairs perfectly with Halloween or creepy styles. The moths are so beautiful in real life, and I just know I will use them all the time.
I am in agreement with most of your comments, Bel. I too am disappointed that the pads have gone the way of the dinosaur, but I suppose at least we're still getting paper packs. I've also grown weary of non-spooky paper dolls. I have a shoebox FULL of paper dolls (I wish I was kidding but sadly I'm not). Now those "mug shot" stickers in the new sticker book - YES PLEASE. THOSE are what I want to see in creepy Halloween paper dolls! (and yes, she is Bellatrix. That was my first thought when i took it out of the package as well!) Now the stencils this year, oh gosh. Chef's kiss, especially the bones and the bats. You'll love them!
The paper pads worked so much better not only for journals but for scrapbooking so it is such a shame they no longer make them. Those paper dolls are one of my least favourite paper products he does. I use them so rarely that I still have some left from the very first pack he created. I have seen the stencils and I am waiting very impatiently for them to be available here 😂.
I LOVE the moths too and purchased 2 packs! I miss the bats too. I made my own by printing solid black onto acetate and cut them out using my bat dies. I personally would love Tim to do some acetate spiders and beetles, detailed ones like the moths. They would be amazing! Looking forward too seeing you use your haul in future projects. Have fun 😊
I’ve got to agree with you Bel. Most of the paper dolls are not Halloweeny enough. I would love to see the vintage witches come back.too. Also I’m not a fan of the backdrops as his only scrapbook kind of paper. I liked using the 12 x 12 cut down to use in journals and I would then have cut offs for tags and pockets. The moths are awesome! Thanks for sharing your haul. I love your enthusiasm. Happy crafting,

Great haul! I love Tim Holtz Halloween stuff! I've only ordered a few things, which I haven't received yet. And I need to place another order because I really want one of the stamp sets, the moths, the skulls. I miss his paper pads too! I hoard the ones I have because I can't get them anymore. I wish they'd release them digitally, that want be fabulous! 💜💜💜
It would be great if they released the old paper pad patterns digitally. I still have a few pads left but all of them are half used and I feel the need to hoard them but I keep reminding myself I need to use them as that's what the are intended for but it's so difficult 😂. I'm waiting for the stencils to arrive, I can see me using them all the time. 😊

I agree with you about the paper dolls and I don't love the size of the new papers I like the 8x8 papers and he doesn't make those the ones that he has changed to are to small for the size journals that I make but the moths remind me of the movie silence of the lambs good creepy movie
The moths definitely give of a silence of the lambs feel 😊. I don't know why they stopped making the pads, but the backdrops just aren't as versatile for journals and scrapbooking which is such a shame.
