    With regards to the bullet feeder issue, I had the same issue with mine. I see that you used a 50 BMG filled with lead. Good choice and it looks like it belongs. I fixed mine with a spring set-up from the bottom of the feeder. It works great. Over a year and no issues yet.

    I agree with GunFun ZS! Very clever! And if you painted the brass black, you wouldn't even think it was an add on. Thanks man!

    I was about ready to take my dam bullet feeder to the range and put it between two bottles of Tannerite until I found your video . I will try your solution first !

    I was just on lee's web site looking up instruction manuals, and stumbled across, an install instruction titled "Bullet Feeder Return Spring Installation" it shows an install of a small spring to accomplish the same thing, but as far as I can find they are not available anywhere as of yet. Guess I was on the right track, the beauty of the spring is its a lot smaller and not in the way.

    sucks you are force to use the feeder in that specific stage, no way to custom your dies.
    can some one solve this where you can add this feeder to any station

    Except the grease, good vid. As a rule I do not put grease on my presses. Some of the rams get a little on my single stages. But not my Lee pros. Best thing I've found is graphite spray. One brand is called lock ease. Grease attracts dirt, powder , dust and makes a bigger mess. It can actually wear out prices faster by catching the abrasives.

      @EitriBrokkr  10 лет назад

      very true, just have to keep them clean, but then again graphite is a microabrasive and super dirty. so I suppose it ends up being a matter of personal preferance. normally I oil my press rams, its a little more messy than grease but it carries the dirt and grim out with it

    it speeds things up, till you have to refill the tube or tubes :) but yeah your right, it takes as long to pick one up and set it in the case as it does to pick one up and put it in the tube. and personally I think you pay more attention to the brass and powder levels, when you manually do it, I guess you could use a electric bullet feeder to fill the tubes and transfer them over, similar to the primer filler tubes on the Dillion's.

    My bullet feeder slide sticks at the beginning the return stroke. A small nudge starts it sliding again, same each stroke, thanks for grease tip I'll try it.

    nice mod. to get the lead filled shell out of the way drill another hole through it up around the neck area and add another hanger out on the end of the slider. whole shell would hand about an inch under it and out of the way. I just got my loadmaster but not set up yet, so I don't know if I have this old feeder or the spring model.

    Lee has a spring that goes between the die and screw holder and forces the die down .

    I just got my bullet feeder and the problem I have is it won't clamp to the bullet I'm using 9mm and the fingers won't grasp the bullet any ideas how to make it work

  • @jhammer929
    @jhammer929 11 лет назад

    They should at least hook you up with something for doing a little "R&D" for them! Still, your idea is an easy homemade fix. Well done, man.

    You left the spring off the bullet feeder. Mine has a spring on both sides that makes it stay down just fine.

    • @EitriBrokkr
      @EitriBrokkr  10 лет назад

      the spring is an upgrade included with the newer units. the original bullet feeders did not have one

    I watched this video twice, as I am about to order my first bullet feeder from Midway. Have you tried putting something between the feeder and the press to keep the thing from tilting?

  • @GunFunZS
    @GunFunZS 11 лет назад

    Does it really speed things up to use the bullet feeder? It seems to me like it would be almost a wash, since you have to stack them all in the tube to start with.

    I think, I build the bullet grabber in aluminum?

    I just cannot get my bullet feeder to function correctly> I'm loading 124 gr 9mm Berry's RN bullets, however they just fall through and down. My bullets OAL is .560 and diameter is.356. My bullet feeder is .460 -.600 long so it's correct, however the bullets just seem to fall right through. If I stack them in either the small or large tube the bullets just fall out one after the other. I'm the Lee 3 die carbide set up and have a sizing die without the pin set up in station#2. #3 is the fairing and powder drop die, however # 4 is the bullet seating die with the bullet feeder setup & is causing me nightmares. Can you help?

    • @EitriBrokkr
      @EitriBrokkr  5 лет назад

      I wish I could, it's hard to know exactly what's going on without seeing it. Unfortunately I don't have one in that size to try and replicate your issue

  • @EitriBrokkr
    @EitriBrokkr  11 лет назад

    nope, the spring goes on top of the attached plate on the shell plate carrier, there's a pic of it in the instructions, if you look up the PDF on Lee's site, I don't think it would work at all the other way

  • @GunFunZS
    @GunFunZS 11 лет назад

    Thanks. I guess I will hold of on this part unless I decide to build a bullet queing drum as I have seen others do here on youtube, So far, at ~500 an hour depending on what I am loading makes that hard to justify.

  • @EitriBrokkr
    @EitriBrokkr  11 лет назад

    I couldn't tell you for sure, my scale only goes up to 1200 grains. but its got to be close to a pound. the more the better or so it seems, untill size becomes an issue. you dont want some big thing getting in the way

  • @jasonb4350
    @jasonb4350 7 лет назад +1

    I think your issue is you are putting a 357 bullet in a 45 kit and yes it matters 357 is longer that setup from what I can see is for 45 a shorter but wider bullet

    It wasn't me who gave you the Dislike, but maybe the person who did expected you to show assembly of the feeder, which you didn't show and show setup to the press, which you didn't show. So the first 5 minutes of this video are pretty much useless. You could have just said make sure you grease the parts before you assemble.
