It's not just young people. Older people lived through a time when there was no internet and society was brutally hateful to gay men. We were left to evaluate ourselves with those hateful messages.
It's so beautiful to see someone I look up to be open about this. I discovered Troye a little while after I came out to my family but I'm still so grateful to him for inspiring me to continue being my true self and to not care what other people think. I'm so incredibly proud of him and what he's accomplished :)
I envy his experience. I just came out to my mom yesterday, and she firmly believes in God and God's word. So although she understands the fact that I'm gay, she will never be able to be okay with it. She's told me this, and she feels that as my parent she will have to spiritually pay for my being gay, which makes me feel even more uncomfortable. She feels like I made a choice, a definitive choice to be gay. I've always been gay, but she'll never understand that. I don't believe the same as she does, but it still saddens me that she'll never accept me for who I really am and what makes me happy. I hear stories about when people come out, and their parents are so cool about it. Meanwhile, I've only come out to my mom because I'm too scared of what my dad would do if he found out. I'm sure I wouldn't have a roof over my head anymore...
Oh my god...I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that reaction! I know nothing about parenting, but I feel like your mom should love you for who you are, no matter who you're attracted to. Maybe this is controversial, considering I'm agnostic, but I always hear people talking about how God made us and everything and although I won't get into my personal views, if God really did make us, then why would homosexuality be a bad thing? God can't make mistakes, right? God loves each one of their creations, right? I'm praying for you, and I hope everything turns out alright

My dad just thinks that being with another man is disgusting, which is... quite painful to hear a lot of times. But I totally agree with the Buddhism thing! I actually left the Christian faith because I much prefer the mentality of other religions. But now, I'm trying to make an exit strategy. Now that I've set up my life, it's time to go live it. In glorious gayness :)

My aunt came out telling my grandparents and her siblings that she was Gay but years came by and my uncle and my dad didn't talk to her but 2 years later my uncle started talking to her again but in the past when she was seeing this girl, my father literally hated her and he wouldn't let us see her at all and like he was like I don't want you on my property and blah blah but for real that's his own sister and then now he starts talking to her because she isn't seeing anyone but when she starts seeing someone again well he is going to stop talking to her but even my grandparents use to introduce my aunt and when she was dating that girl they would say oh and this is her roommate and they were embarrassed to introduce her as her gf but my dad seriously is really controlling and cruel but idk is this normal ?

He's on tour right now where he's constantly performing (he sometimes does like 3 shows in a row) and doing promo and interviews. When he does have a day off he's resting so he doesn't get sick. He just doesn't have the time to film and edit videos right now
I have a theory, now that I think about it it all makes sense, i think Ryan Secret, has a seacrest, see what i did there, no but he must have a pact w all of his celebrity friends so they don't out him because maybe one or both of his parents would be really broken if he did come out, so out of respect for his privacy and family all calabrities including ellen are respecting him for staying in the closet publicly, but I'm pretty sure he's out to his friends
