    The production is greatly improved. Too bad I no longer have my e36...

    The torque specs for the engine-mount bracket (M8 bolts) and thermostat housing (M6 bolts) should be 22Nm and 10Nm respectively and not 11Nm and 7Nm as specified in your video

      Unfortunately, we do not have a video on such a replacement, we can recommend a playlist for BMW 3 (E36) - ruclips.net/p/PLWep5LzT0sxmGaE_D-PugagtaTjGevAG9

    This misses the most difficult part of the whole project- removing the stock clutched fan. You hardly need a video to do this if you have an after market electric fan.
    Good video overall though

    Had to stop watching when he applied RTV and then put the plastic housing back on. That car is going to strand someone at the side of a road somewhere.

      Why

    • @edotero61
      @edotero61 2 года назад +3

      First of all, the plastic housing should be replaced with an aluminum housing. BMW's weak link is the cooling system, specifically all the plastic in the cooling system. Get rid of it ASAP. Secondly, if the mating surfaces of the housing and engine block are perfectly smooth you can mount the housing metal-to-metal and torqued to proper specs. There are two rubber gaskets that will create a water-tight, pressurized seal. RTV will prevent the housing from seating properly and basically undermine the purpose of the rubber gaskets. Down the road somewhere when you least expect it the RTV will blow and provide a nice escape hatch for your coolant. I have a '95 E36 and I live in New Mexico. Mine is the voice of experience.

      @@edotero61 really? So when I replace mine with a aliminium one I should not use any RTV?

    • @edotero61
      @edotero61 Год назад +1

      @uGoH No RTV has worked perfectly for me. I have a '95 E36 with an M50 engine. Bentley manual says to torque it to 10Nm (89 inch-lb).
