Exactly what you are saying here. With the Wheel of Time they had an opportunity to turn it into a new IP on TV and define what it should look like, put some real care and effort in it. Making it a defining series, like what Peter Jackson did for the Lord of the Rings…… Even though I moderately enjoyed the WoT series on TV so far, I find it really bad how far they drift away from the source material. Every deviation is not for the better. They had the opportunity to make WoT absolutely great if they had allocated more budget and really took the effort to bring the books to life, staying true to the source material and spend 2 seasons for the second book for example. Instead they chose to do a half-ok adaptation by people of whom I simply do not believe they love the books like the fans do, and at the same time, pour millions of dollars in an absolute butchery of middle earth. Rings of Prime is something I cannot even watch because of how cringe it is. I always told people that with Amazon I never felt like if they have any passion for anything art related, what they have done here just underlines it for me. The only thing I can thank Amazon (together with Disney) for is that they butchered so many series that I started to read much more than I used to, cause on TV there simply aren't any imaginative creative series anymore that I want to sink my time in. WoT is something I might watch when it continues, but Rings of Power, Picard… what a waste..
Honestly, they could do a 16 episode season and follow the story much more closely if they were given even half the budget RoP has used to date... I don't hate RoP but I definitely don't see where all that money went...

And I keep thinking... this series may have it's flaws, if one compares it to the books, but it's remained way more "canon" and "believable" than Amazon's other recent fantasy adaptions. *sighs* Now I'm looking forward to spring for more Wheel of Time. Wow! I think it would be great if Season 3 came out in March and April! I think from everything cast members have said, that it should be the best season yet. Great source material, and hopefully they're hitting their stride when it comes to the writing, especially without having to replace a main character, etc.

A friend who I got into the show - show-only fan, would've stayed very casual except he fell in love with Ryma, partly because he's an ICU nurse and loves seeing healers be wise badasses - was JUST asking me if I had any S3 release rumors yet! Great timing! 😂 And yeah, it goes to show - there are probably a lot of folks who really enjoy the show who are at a stage where they really wanna know S3 news, but just aren't keyed into the community to find out, so hopefully Amazon gets the hype train onto the tracks soon after RoP marketing season quiets down.
I'm not going to start watching a series tomorrow and finishing the first two seasons in a week just to wait 6 months for season three, yes the waiting time is an issue
The interesting thing you're missing is that the series are remastered after the season premiere. Some scenes are changed after the first airing. Subtle scenes, but scenes that I noticed change after the first showing. One example that tipped me off to this was the end scenes of season two where a chosen says different lines upon being found by Lanfear in the original showing compared to the available footage a few weeks later. My advice - do a video or two on these subtle scenes edits. Love the work you do. Another alteration is the scene in season 2 episode two where Elayna makes "fermented" water by using her water and earth weaves to provide Egwayne an alcoholic drink. Small scene changes, make hardcore fan appreciation. Good luck tracking them all!!!!!

So glad S3 is coming out sooner than we thought (hopefully 😅). I've been trying hard to talk friends and colleagues into watching WOT, and I managed to get one person to watch S1 and S2. They really enjoyed them both and will be delighted to hear S3 is coming out earlier 😊. Now I'll keep talking the show up and hopefully inspire others to watch all 3 seasons, because it really is a great fantasy series in my eyes whether you've read the books or not ❤

Would be good news and we can all hope - and hope it even gets quicker. If the show was to run its course of 8 seasons, that would be 14 years, which is way too long. Will the cast see it out, aging, etc. Hopefully post-production gets a bit quicker as they settle on effects and get quicker via repetition/practice.

They have missed the mark on some characters like mat and lan imo. But I feel they have perfectly nailed the other characters. It feels like the wheel of time to me just a bit different. I am glad you are watching I think tho they will condense this epic quite a bit because of it’s massive size people are going to miss personal favorite scenes but as the real world goes we can’t get the whole story as written before people age out of their characters. I wish they would do ten episodes and at least and longer run times.
Yes! Happy! I like... forced the books on my daughter, and she likes them a lot, and a friend was looking for something to read. I brought him tEotW. Daughter - tSR, friend - LoC. I love to hear their thoughts and theories... The series does not give me the same thrill the books did, but I do like (and borderline love) the show.
I totally agree with you. I love the wheel of Time series. I mean, it’s certainly far from the books but that’s OK. Any adaptation will never be like the original more to the point. They are taking way too long to release this stuff. I agree that the wait between seasons is tediously long. People's viewing style has changed as most people like to binge watch a whole season. To appreciate a new season if you have to wait 2 years means you almost need to watch the whole previous season to get an idea of what's happening again. People don't have that kind of time to waste. This causes drops in viewership because people don't want to invest that kind of time.
Everyone who I got to watch S1 didn't bother with S2 yet because they don't want to wait 2 years for the next episode. Instead, they'll watch it all when it's complete. Oh well. Amazon's loss.
I enjoyed the first season of Rings of Power, but I’m not feeling the 2nd season. It took me 2 weeks to get through the first episode, it was that bad…to me! I can’t wait for the 3rd season of Wheel of Time, the wait is excruciating 😣 😊
I'm rewatching S1 of Rings of Power cuz I can't remember what happened. TBH I'm enjoying S1 much more than the first watch. I had the same experience with WoT S1. The wait is WAY too long!!!
I'm really excited for season 3 but also concerned. REAL HECKIN CONCERNED. Because Ass Prime has now started shoving ads in my face IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SHOWS! Instead of offering a cheaper plan that has ads, the cheeky buggers brought out an *extra* premium service that is ad-free. So they are asking for more money in order to provide the same service as before. I wish there was a way to support the show by buying dvds instead of this dirty Ass Prime subscription fee I am forced to pay.
I'm hoping Amazon is not just "dumping" it early and than cancelling it 😢. On the otherhand if season 4 is beholden to the viewership than the earlier they drop it. The sooner they can get going on a season 4.
I was disappointed when I found out Amazon was making a Middle Earth show. Not because it's a bad idea. All that money they dumped into it could have given us double the episode length. They're trying too many things so it brings down the quality on both shows. Just pick one amazon
The information regarding the 3rd season is pretty limited to say the least. Do you think there is a reason? Also do you think that there will not be a season 4?
There is limited official info on S3 because Amazon and Sony dont really release anything until 3 to 5 months out for marketing. I have a feeling that we will really start to see things in Dec. I think S4 is up in the air from everything Ive heard. I do my best to be positive but Im hearing a lot of things right now that dont give a concrete answer one way or another. Ill likely do a video on this subject! Ill probably include this comment as a part of it!
I'm excited for season 3. I'm glad it's less than 1 year to wait. 🥳 Do my friends and family know? I don't think so... none of them are interested in WoT. My sister & brother-in-law watched season 1 and didn't like it... so refused to watch season 2 even though I insisted it was better.
I suspect the plan is to attempt to maximize book sales by using Season 1 as a "Teaser". Is this just too conspiracy minded? I think the numbers created by Game of Thrones to sales of the Song of Ice & Fire books was the start of a trend....Maybe Peter Jackson's LotR trilogy had the same effect on the sales of Tolkien's books. As you have laid it out, it makes no sense as all viewers are hating this way of holding us hostage to these long gaps between seasons.
Am I the only one, who expected it for Christmas, and realize now that I would be to be lucky if it is released in May 2025?! Frankly, as much as I like the WOT novels and appreciate Season 2 being far better that the abominable Season 1, I don't think this TV adaptation is worth the waiting. Unless they have paid some really good writing and Rafe is banned from the production.
Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch, but the hype has long since been dead for me. It was genuinely fun to be in this community pre season 1. They actively engaged with us then. They're not even trying. And I know, I know. Rings off Power. But why? More eyes would be on Amazon and Rings of Power if they promoted Wheel of Time now. I just want this story I love to get the attention it deserves! It feels like Amazon is hoping this will fail so they could use this as a write-off.
You really watched Rings of power ? I couldn't watched it after two or three episodes! If WoT had half the budget and the marketing of Rings of power , it would already been the new Game of thrones. That's what i believe.Also i think that WoT is a good show, but it could be great if there where more episodes in each season. Robert Jordan wrote a masterpiece and cutting content,arcs and storie doesn't do justice to the material.
It totally agree with you. Putting al the budget and marketing into Rings of Prime while having the license to WoT shows how badly they understand the value of what they have. Now the WoT is an ok, but quite generic fantasy series, where it could have had the impact of Game of Thrones, or Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings if done right. More episodes would have helped, but I also think the people who work on it simply aren’t as talented and (even more importantly) don’t have the passion for the source material that is required to elevate it to Peter Jackson’s LotR or GoT status. And lastly, on top of that, changes from the source material are also made for political reasons to please the non-existing modern audience, which is never for the better.
Well that's good news. I understand the year between thing but they didn't plan it well. And 100% the long waits are a detriment, as well as the fact that most series are now only 6-8 episodes. Which means you have hardly no time to tell a real in depth story and everything seems superficial and rushed. I honestly don't have high praise for any streaming shows over the last five-ten years except perhaps Fallout. I like the WoT series so far but it's not what I would call amazing and is lacking in a lot of ways still for me. Which is mostly plot and pacing and unnecessary changes that hurt the plot and pacing. Rafe is a good showrunner in a general sense but I still don't think he was the right choice for this series.
While i appreciate your content and I sub just to come talk about WOT.... I cannot bring myself to watch season 3. I had to give up on the show... I will however still love to talk about the books.

I saw. I wasn't as clear as I should have been. End of RoP season 2 to start of WoT S3 (if there's a year buffer) would have been 30 months is what I meant. But year it would have been more like 25 months lol thanks for that

I have been predicting S3 in March or April 2025 since just before S2 dropped. I am happy to be right this time. 18 or 19 months between seasons is way better than two full years between seasons. I do not know why just before 7:00 you said that one year between RoP and WoT would make the time between S2 and S3 "30 plus months" when September 2023 and September 2025 are 24 months apart. I watched this part of the video twice to be certain that was what you were saying. Your math just is not mathing for me.
I think they know perfectly well how to advertise they do it for the rings of power and it’s like 🫤 meh on the show I am not feeling a lot of the show. It seems redundant in a way to the Tolkien movies .

Yes! Happy! I like... forced the books on my daughter, and she likes them a lot, and a friend was looking for something to read. I brought him tEotW. Daughter - tSR, friend - LoC. I love to hear their thoughts and theories... The series does not give me the same thrill the books did, but I do like (and borderline love) the show.
My hope is April. Which means it is gonna be September.

I totally agree with you. I love the wheel of Time series. I mean, it’s certainly far from the books but that’s OK. Any adaptation will never be like the original more to the point. They are taking way too long to release this stuff. I agree there are tons of Lord of the rings fans Who also like wheel of Time people who like fantasy in general they should just release the series if it’s ready. Also, please correct me if I’m wrong are we assuming March 2025?

I agree that the wait between seasons is tediously long. People's viewing style has changed as most people like to binge watch a whole season. To appreciate a new season if you have to wait 2 years means you almost need to watch the whole previous season to get an idea of what's happening again. People don't have that kind of time to waste. This causes drops in viewership because people don't want to invest that kind of time.

Everyone who I got to watch S1 didn't bother with S2 yet because they don't want to wait 2 years for the next episode. Instead, they'll watch it all when it's complete. Oh well. Amazon's loss.

I enjoyed the first season of Rings of Power, but I’m not feeling the 2nd season. It took me 2 weeks to get through the first episode, it was that bad…to me! I can’t wait for the 3rd season of Wheel of Time, the wait is excruciating 😣 😊

I'm rewatching S1 of Rings of Power cuz I can't remember what happened. TBH I'm enjoying S1 much more than the first watch. I had the same experience with WoT S1. The wait is WAY too long!!!
I'm really excited for season 3 but also concerned. REAL HECKIN CONCERNED. Because Ass Prime has now started shoving ads in my face IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SHOWS! Instead of offering a cheaper plan that has ads, the cheeky buggers brought out an *extra* premium service that is ad-free. So they are asking for more money in order to provide the same service as before. I wish there was a way to support the show by buying dvds instead of this dirty Ass Prime subscription fee I am forced to pay.
I'm hoping Amazon is not just "dumping" it early and than cancelling it 😢.
On the otherhand if season 4 is beholden to the viewership than the earlier they drop it. The sooner they can get going on a season 4.

I was disappointed when I found out Amazon was making a Middle Earth show. Not because it's a bad idea. All that money they dumped into it could have given us double the episode length. They're trying too many things so it brings down the quality on both shows. Just pick one amazon

There is limited official info on S3 because Amazon and Sony dont really release anything until 3 to 5 months out for marketing.

Do my friends and family know? I don't think so... none of them are interested in WoT. My sister & brother-in-law watched season 1 and didn't like it... so refused to watch season 2 even though I insisted it was better.

The drop in viewership is because of the long wait times between seasons. People lose their invested interest.
I suspect the plan is to attempt to maximize book sales by using Season 1 as a "Teaser". Is this just too conspiracy minded? I think the numbers created by Game of Thrones to sales of the Song of Ice & Fire books was the start of a trend....Maybe Peter Jackson's LotR trilogy had the same effect on the sales of Tolkien's books. As you have laid it out, it makes no sense as all viewers are hating this way of holding us hostage to these long gaps between seasons.
Am I the only one, who expected it for Christmas, and realize now that I would be to be lucky if it is released in May 2025?! Frankly, as much as I like the WOT novels and appreciate Season 2 being far better that the abominable Season 1, I don't think this TV adaptation is worth the waiting. Unless they have paid some really good writing and Rafe is banned from the production.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch, but the hype has long since been dead for me. It was genuinely fun to be in this community pre season 1. They actively engaged with us then. They're not even trying. And I know, I know. Rings off Power. But why? More eyes would be on Amazon and Rings of Power if they promoted Wheel of Time now. I just want this story I love to get the attention it deserves! It feels like Amazon is hoping this will fail so they could use this as a write-off.
You really watched Rings of power ? I couldn't watched it after two or three episodes! If WoT had half the budget and the marketing of Rings of power , it would already been the new Game of thrones. That's what i believe.Also i think that WoT is a good show, but it could be great if there where more episodes in each season. Robert Jordan wrote a masterpiece and cutting content,arcs and storie doesn't do justice to the material.
It totally agree with you. Putting al the budget and marketing into Rings of Prime while having the license to WoT shows how badly they understand the value of what they have. Now the WoT is an ok, but quite generic fantasy series, where it could have had the impact of Game of Thrones, or Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings if done right. More episodes would have helped, but I also think the people who work on it simply aren’t as talented and (even more importantly) don’t have the passion for the source material that is required to elevate it to Peter Jackson’s LotR or GoT status.
And lastly, on top of that, changes from the source material are also made for political reasons to please the non-existing modern audience, which is never for the better.
Well that's good news. I understand the year between thing but they didn't plan it well. And 100% the long waits are a detriment, as well as the fact that most series are now only 6-8 episodes. Which means you have hardly no time to tell a real in depth story and everything seems superficial and rushed. I honestly don't have high praise for any streaming shows over the last five-ten years except perhaps Fallout.
I like the WoT series so far but it's not what I would call amazing and is lacking in a lot of ways still for me. Which is mostly plot and pacing and unnecessary changes that hurt the plot and pacing. Rafe is a good showrunner in a general sense but I still don't think he was the right choice for this series.

I saw. I wasn't as clear as I should have been. End of RoP season 2 to start of WoT S3 (if there's a year buffer) would have been 30 months is what I meant. But year it would have been more like 25 months lol thanks for that

I have been predicting S3 in March or April 2025 since just before S2 dropped. I am happy to be right this time. 18 or 19 months between seasons is way better than two full years between seasons. I do not know why just before 7:00 you said that one year between RoP and WoT would make the time between S2 and S3 "30 plus months" when September 2023 and September 2025 are 24 months apart. I watched this part of the video twice to be certain that was what you were saying. Your math just is not mathing for me.
Gah Im so sorry. The end of Rings of Power S2 and the start of WoT S3 probably would have been 25 months at most.
