Aw, I hate that you feel you have to justify buying a brand that is simply less expensive! You have been in love with this bag for months! If people were paying attention, they would know this. Seems like an elitist attitude to decide what is LESS luxurious for someone else! You like what you like. Who cares. I think the bag is super cute! Your vids are always fun and interesting. I think they're great. Don't let the pearl-clutchers get you down🥰

You love what you love, and that’s fantastic. It’s sad that some folks judge you and others on what is purchased. You’re a handbag fan and collector and you embrace everything. Never change your Style 💖
People really need to go touch grass or something lol. Not everyone wants to wear a super expensive bag out and about everywhere and there is nothing wrong with mixing high end and low end brands. People literally do that with fashion. Why not bags? Personally, safety is the biggest thing that makes me reconsider what bag I want to take out. If I know I need to be out at night or just don't want stress of looking over my shoulders all paranoid, I will just pick the cheaper bags in my collection.
Same. If I have to make it home alone in wheelchair I use a nondescript bag too. Can't fight a group of muggers so try to look blah. When I leave a function alone all the jewelry gets tucked away too! You'll see an old turtleneck and nothing posh or flashy
It totally makes sense to me to have some bags that are special and some that are more everyday workhorses. Everything we buy does not have to have the same level of practical utility.
Just like some days you do not dress up so much, but go casual and utilitarian. Sometimes you just want to get stuff done, not make a fashion statement or overthink every inclusion; hair, makeup, colours etc. I'm reviewing my Spring/Summer wardrobe for the coming season and realise I've got a lot of denim, chambray blue and white, stripes, linen etc. I've got a solid core wardrobe now that is practical. I'm also upgrading to some decent belts and will try to use all of my clothes and enjoy them fully. This is pretty much a trend from what I can see people are avoiding prints for instance.
I've been watching you since you had a massive lv murakami collection. seeing you go from LV to chanel to hermes and the thought process behind it all was never an elitist "I want to be perceived as the most luxurious girl in the room, old money, quiet luxury blah blah blah" and thats something I really admire. your collection has always been an honest reflection of your taste and needs and expression. this coach bag decked out with a giant jellycat plushie is no more unusual than your hermes plume bag. its not about "stepping down" the luxury ladder or downgrading, its just you honestly buying what your heart skips a beat for! and I really admire that
Love the coach. But also ppl gotta remember that to call a 500 plus dollar bag a “throw away” bag comes from a place of privilege. And some of y’all need to be aware of that like the original commenters who said it was a step down. Those comments were elitist and just so outta touch. Yes, this hobby of collecting bags isn’t cheap and it’s not something a lot of people can do. A coach can be more realistic for most and to them it’s more worth it than an Hermes and lv because you’re saving money and getting better quality that SHEIN. At the end of the day it’s still a nice bag. And some of y’all need to touch grass lol! Hopefully this made sense I’m half asleep haha! Great video tho!
As a lover of Fendi bags and an owner of multiple Fendi bags. I felt offended that someone called it a step back, like, are you serious, these bags aren’t cheap by any means with Peekaboo being more expensive than many Hermes bags. Some people are so so deep in the Hermes bubble. Yes you can enjoy wearing a Coach bag too, you may even like its design and practicality more than Birkin’s.
I am shocked by the people who believe that buying at Coach is bad simply because it is cheap. I already said it Tanner leatherstein, leather is leather, they are only buying the brand, because in reality making a Hermes or Dior bag costs 50 dollars. And the worst thing is that "luxury" brands are aimed at the middle class who work themselves to death and save to buy a bag and pretend to have a status that they don´t have. But actually judging someone because they have a bag that doesn't cost a million is stupid, rather I would laugh at people who have no money and go into credit card debt by spending thousands of dollars on a brand.
You may do more research into a brand next time. Hermés is actually giving their craftsmanship workers raise when sale increased with 4000$ each. They donate to protect the environment, the have their own farm to raise the cattle that is to become a bag to have steel control on the production.
You are truly a Lovely Lady sharing with transparency and joy… We so get it because some bags give us a level of freedom and that’s a good thing. We Enjoy your updates so much! 💕
It drives me crazy when people call Coach and other contemporary handbag brands "cheap." Yes, their bags aren't $5,000 or $15,000, but for the vast majority of the world's population, spending $400-$700USD on a bag is unattainable. Most people don't have the money to spend several hundred on a bag, and even if they did, they would never fathom spending that much on a bag and stick with getting $30 bags from Target or thrift stores. Some people need a reality check.
Geezus can people just buy bags they like without being fixated on some made up hierarchy. I don’t think people understand fashion and style if they fixate on brands…
Hi Jess! You look FAB btw! 🖤 After I purchased my first three luxury bags, I took a long hard look at my contemporary ones and made the decision to let most of them go. They just didn’t do it for me anymore. Watching luxury handbag unboxings didn’t help my mindset either. I did keep two Coach bags that are a little more sentimental. The first thing I did when I bought my very first Coach bag was to remove the “Coach” tag hanging from it. To me, it cheapened the look of the bag. I definitely have some anxiety carrying my soft calfskin Celine Cabas tote because I know it will no doubt scratch but I’m trying to get over it. We don’t have an infinite number of years on this globe so we may as well throw caution to the wind and enjoy the things we buy. I love your black Coach bag (minus the tag)😉 It’s so cute! I would love to see a vlog of your contemporary bags! I didn’t know you had such an array of them!
Buy what you love. Wear what you love. Absolutely zero need to explain your reasons. Fashion is all about self expression. Would love to see your contemporary bag collection!!
Hahahaha “this is too much of a jump for me.” Ha! That comment made me laugh-wearing Coach after buying Hermès is not that serious! You want a more everyday bag! I wear a boring/inconsequential bags when I am running errands near my neighborhood! Lol. I totally get why you bought the Coach bag! It is more carefree!
First of all Coach is a quality brand it's been around for a long time. I have a few of them myself. A birkin or Kelly is always been out of my price range. But even if I was a multi-millionaire. I would never waste my money on a bag so expensive. Because just makes a person more of a target and you can't really enjoy it on a regular basis. 😊
I only use an LV men's card case to work because of the type of occupation I have. When I'm not working, lately I've been using LV bags. I do love Coach, tho. They have really nice stuff. 😊
Don’t you just love all the opinions of everyone? I have almost every designer bag from my recent Birkin purchase to my coach bags. Coach makes a well made beautiful leather bags. I admire you for posting and taking on the haters. They have nothing to do but critique everyone’s purchases. The coach bag is adorable. I’m there if they make it a bit bigger. Keep posting and ignore these sad people. Love your videos!
I don’t for one minute think you would trash any bag, Jess. Once I had a conversation with Dayle on her channel along the lines of maybe I only ‘liked’ bags rather than ‘loved’ them because I won’t spend new Chanel and Hermès money on one (while I still have my home loan - may do when completely debt free). However, I think I was wrong and perhaps I do love bags because I’m as happy carrying Uniqlo or an Olga Berg clutch as I am carrying Loewe or LV. Agree with you that bags should suit the occasion and designer isn’t always appropriate. Coach is still a lovely brand.
Yes, please do a video on your contemporary bags! I had to laugh when your viewer said she would step BACK to Fendi and LV. Definitely in a different tax bracket than me but her view on designer bags was interesting to me. I own Coach bags from the 80’s. Even the one Taylor Swift wore and it went viral! Fashion/style isn’t in a box. Creatives are more adventurous and will wear all things beautiful, luxurious and fun. I do own designer bags but not Hermes. lol.
🙄 why do some people have so little scope of imagination? An Hermes lover buying Coach, unfathomable! 🤷🏻♀️ I'm so glad you remain unapologetically you, keep enjoying what you love, Jess, fellow Hermes lover/ Coach buyer here too, you're not alone! 🤣
Great video! I think it's awesome that you got a Coach bag and are enjoying it in a carefree manner. It came across very clearly why you are more precious with your Hermes and that's totally fine! I only have 2 designer bags and like 10 contemporary bags. I pretty much wear my designer bags about as often, maybe a wee bit more often, than my contemporary. I'm very much a 'use your bags' sort, not really a collector or curator sort. Takes all types to make the world go round, however you want to use your bags is fine. Even though it's not as expensive as my designer, probably the bag I worry about the most is my Coach Swagger 27 (I know you had a smaller version of this) because this bag is so perfect in functionality and I love the look of it so much and the particular one I have, there aren't a ton of them around so if I lost it, I might not be able to replace it. So I get what you mean about considering something more precious because it's harder to replace.
Your coach is much nicer to me and more practical for all occasions including travelling, than your little Birkin, how unpractical would be to carry it with tiny handle all day. Enjoy your new bag, looks cute either way different charms ❤
IMO the more valuable you perceive something, the more precious you are with it. Value doesnt always mean the cost, it can be sentimentality, rarity or simply how much you like it. If buying a Coach bag means you have a care free option when you want it, that makes sense. Sounds like a bag to match lifestyle but still be stylish. Doesnt need justification, its an individual choice.
I could not agree more. My nice bags are sitting pretty in their dust bags while I keep reaching for my PLG round crossbody. It is convenient and carefree. I don’t have to worry about it. If it scratches that’s just “patina”. Recently ordered it in a second color.😊
I feel that it isn’t always best to be judgmental about what others buy, especially when you think you know everything about the person. One of the commenters implied that they felt disappointed by you for buying a Coach handbag. Seriously? I appreciate that you find value in other brands even if they aren’t as expensive as handbags from Hermes. As a person who loves books, I find enjoyment and appreciation for a paperback just as I would a First Edition. Of course I’m going be more precious with a First Edition than a paperback or a hardcover that costs less; but I find value in these as well. On another note: can we talk about how cute and adorable your little hedgehog is? I may have squealed when I saw it, Jessie (and I am 63 years old). What is it and how can I get my hands on one? 🥰🥰🥰
It makes sense to have everyday bags as well as your special occasion bags. You want your keep that Birkin in top shape and avoid wear and tear as much as possible.
I saw your title and had to see this video. I was surprised to see you purchased a Coach bag as well. I feel my Coach bags are more carefree as well. I don't have to worry about it. Your Birkin is a beautiful . It is a treasure.
Because Coach is a brand that can take a beating! They’re also affordable so you don’t feel bad if you get a scratch. Some of our bags are more like collectors pieces we carry once in a while, and others are better for regular everyday use. You need not feel guilty about buying what you want! Also those criticisms seem a bit elitist. Coach is a heritage brand and very approachable. ❤
I’m all about mixing high and low. I recently purchased a coach bag, empire 40, and love it. I haven’t purchased new coach in years, but they have stepped it up on styles and great leather.
I came to the realization that I like collecting things too! Now as far as your purchase of the COACH bag if it satisfies a need and makes you happy then it’s nobody’s business what you buy. Now I do feel like you talk about COACH like it’s disposable trash and not worthy of respecting and that’s disappointing! Anyway great video! FYI I love the sunshine charm! 😊
I’ve only heard people from Australia trash coach on RUclips. I immediately left their channel. Coach is an awesome brand tho I preferred when they were made in America.
Please show us your other bags! 😍 Would love to see them. As a fellow collector of things I find it an escape. The day dreaming about it and the hunt are great pleasures. I think Ive got around 100 bags now. Mostly designer and contemporary. Most are also preloved. Hermes, chanel, all sorts but my most used are my telfar bags. They’re in great colours and dont require babying. Ive been collecting Jeremy Scott moschino bags for years. The amount of blood, sweat, tears and time spent finding them they feel almost irreplaceable. Preloved things arnt easy to replace. So I know what you mean. I’d love a birkin but at the same time for me it would be an expensive ornament. I know it would never leave the house either. Preloved prada also gets a good amount of wear. Not too expensive and mostly not too hard to replace.
Dont listen to any of the nay sayers Jess! Just because you love something expensive doesn’t mean that you can’t also like a less expensive beautiful option. More affordable bags are sometimes even cuter than their expensive contemporaries. There is definitely freedom in using something without worrying about it getting damaged. And yes, a coach bag that is not rare or hard to replace is more practical, but the reason we buy these bags that need to be babied is because we just love bags! You don’t have to choose either or. You can choose to have both! I have many luxury bags that are more delicate and in some instances hard to find again, and I do baby those more than other bags. But I use and love my coach bags as well, especially for travel when I just dont want to have to think about my bag.
The comments you got are wild. I have high end, very vintage and contemporary bags. I buy bags because I like that actual bag, brand be damned. If I don't get the warm and fuzzies after thinking about a bag for a bit, I don't get it. I love that you have Hermes, but bought a Coach and see the utility and ease of it.
Hi Jess, it's totally OK to mix contemporary with luxury. Different occasions requires different bags. You look lovely in your video today and always enjoy your enthusiasm and energy in all your videos! ❤️🌸❤️🌸❤️
I've just bought the Coach dupe for H Picotin because 1. I couldn't get it from the store 2. It was 10x cheaper (but good leather nonetheless) 3. I don't carry luxury brands to work or while shopping for groceries. So I totally get it!
I get the most attached to the things I wear the most. Things one wears are consumable. This used to paralyze me regarding using my beautiful things (not expensive necessarily, but beautiful in my eyes). I've decided I want to surround myself with beauty. I want to get attached to the beautiful things that moved me to buy them. I want to live in them. This hasn't magically given me more occasions to wear event dresses, or my fanciest bags, and I don't wear most of my antique pieces, which are art objects to me. But life feels more indulgent, and I feel more cared-for and grateful when I am wearing special things. And doing it daily is amazing. I appreciate, but do not wear, new designer, because that's more money than I want to spend on something I will likely ruin in time. I understand why you don't wear your Hermes often. They're art objects. I buy beautiful Coach and wear the hell out of them, too.
Coach latest collection is an catching, some vlogers will definitely buy or try it….. it will definitely get views and likes. Coach has value to others 😊
As many others have said, buy and wear what you want and like! No need to explain it to anyone. I truly don’t get the reaction of folks being shocked or put off simply because you added a different brand to your collection. I’d love to see your contemporary collection!
This is such an interesting video, since Im in a completely different income bracket. As in, I have to save to buy a Coach bag because they can be quite expensive to me. And I do baby my Coach bags, except for my work bag, because they are pricey, but I love each one of them. The swing zip is actually my favorite Coach bag currently. They just released it in one of the colors Ive been waiting for, and I kid you know, I have been trying as hard as I can to not buy it with my credit card, because it is US$400 (around $600 aud, cheaper than there but still a lot of money). All your bags are pretty, and it is fine to like bags from different price ranges
Coach is excellent for traveling to places where carrying a Hermes (or other high price point bags) is not a good idea. In my home city I feel comfortable carrying my Evelyn PM as my daily carry. But when I travel to major metropolitan cities like San Francisco or Oakland I carry my Coach bags. For safety.
i buy lower end totes for work, I mistreat them and sometimes even put them down on wet ground. i also bought a clutch I can take out to the club and not care if someone spills a drink on it.
I’ve got all sorts of bags, fr low to high end. Really does depend on what, where & whom I’m with as to which bag I use. Going to a show maybe a Chanel classic flap, lunch with the girls a Lady Dior Hermes Kelly of Birkin, taking the dog to the vets, whatever I pull out the wardrobe that matches a fluffy geriatric dachshund LOL. Jess we’re all individual & I say you do you boo & be the best you can. Take care. 😘💐
Hey Jess! That coach bag looks like good quality to me. Heck it made me go into a coach store yesterday. I was looking at a newer Tabby and I have to say the leather was butter soft and it did get me thinking about buying one. Let me just say it was not cheap it was $650 US without tax. When I add in the tax the bag is $700….so I am giving it a good think. I do not think you come across as a snob. You just really appreciate your bags and you do have a collecting quirk which is more than fine. Just keep doing you and enjoy you bags!
Totally agree with you...there are just days I just wanna wear a trash bag and be super carefree and why not Coach? It's well made and will get good cost per wear! Ultimately a bag is a bag. It's an accessory, I wear everything from Hermes to COS/Uniqlo based on what works for my lifestyle. Crime has also gone up so I'm also weary of where I take my nicer bags.
I love mixing price ranges. My work bag is from French brand Merci and I love it! With that I sometimes wear my Picotin. It’s all about mixing and having fun 😘 I love that coach bag! I actually like it more than the Miu Miu once that are similar.
I love when an influencer loves both contemporary and luxury brands. It appeals to all kinds of people. Who doesn’t love a brand that is more affordable and beautiful??
Why do people feel they have to be loyal to only one brand? There's something to be said for carrying a carefree bag. I think you'll find coach like potato chips. It's hard to have just one. For me they're just affordable enough to collect them.
You have a lovely collection of bags! I would say do what makes YOU happy and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Personally, I would rather spend my money on jewelry because thats what makes ME happy. But I can definitely see the attraction of beautiful handbags and respect your gorgeous collection. 😊 Btw I also love Hello Kitty! 😉 ❤
I love the silhouette of this bag, and for a trend piece it’s affordable compared to the miu miu. I would get the miu miu if it was a lot cheaper, but alas 😂
Bugger what other people say. You buy what makes you happy and what you like. It's your money. I love watching your videos to see you and hear your news. You could open a crisp packet and have a chat about your day I'd be just as happy. 🤗🤗
I have more coach than my hermes tbh. 😅also been using cheaper home brand bags because it fitted my lifestyle more to be honest. Doesn't matter what we carry as long as we are happy. 😅it's carefree and just easy to carry anywhere
I enjoy your videos, each designer bag I buy is an investment for myself. I own 3 Hermes handbags, but I also own, LV, Fendi, Celine, Ferragamo and Gucci, Prada and Chanel, but, I also have other handbags from different designer houses, like Comme De Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto etc. I also have 3 coach bags, that I absolutely love and I use my coach bags a lot. I do feel some anxiety when I take out my designer bag, so I am careful. If you work hard, then treat yourself and enjoy the purchase.
I have recently started buying more high end luxury bags, but I see myself eyeing more and more these contemporary brands like Polene, Demellier, Songmont etc. But honestly, I have found such amazing deals on the second hand market, that I can't get myself into buying mid-range, if I can get high end on a second-hand market with the almost the same price!!
Hi jess.i understand the question about coach.i travel often n will always visit the coach stores but i cannot buy.i like some of the design n quality but always come back to the question when will i use it.i have more than 80 bags n counting.and because ive spent so much i want to use those bags.i change everyday.but im not saying never.i might cave with coach

Coach really nailed it this fall. Shoes, bags everything. Love it

Coach and Dooney & Burke have stepped up their game.
Some people collect fine paintings or sculptures. You seem to find the same kind of pleasure displaying these bags as art decor. 💜
ooo true!! 💕
Coach is a vibe. When people pick the gems from coach out I always notice their taste level. The one you bought is very chic

awww thanks Jessica!!! 😍inspired me to make a video!
😂💕Thanks Raina!!!! 🤗
I’m the same. Just purchased a Coach which I haven’t had in over 20 years and I love it.
I bought coach quilted sandals last months and couldn’t take them off since I got them. Very comfortable that I ditched my Hermes Oasis
ooo good to know!
As a Coach lover, I love to see this addition to your collection! If I ever bought an Hermes bag, I'd probably be too scared to use it.
I saw your title and had to see this video. I was surprised to see you purchased a Coach bag as well. I feel my Coach bags are more carefree as well. I don't have to worry about it. Your Birkin is a beautiful . It is a treasure.
indeed!! 🌷
Empire 40 looks great. Sadly not released in Australia- I’d love to check it out in person 😊
Nice bag. I heard the 48 sold out
@@mizmelbourneit’s really cute and works with so many things.
@@katemiller7874it did! Its really big, but admittedly I thought about it if it was available I’m sure would have bought it lol
You should do a what fits!!😂
You love what you love! Don’t make any apologies for it. The Swing Tote is adorable, and Coach is a good quality contemporary(ish) brand.
You did it!!!! So glad you got the bag you wanted. I remember you said you wanted it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ AND that CHARM IS EVERYTHING!!!!!
😍thanks so much!!!
So I totally get it!
totally!!! thanks madeleine❤
I’m with you Jess! Coach is a great bag for usefulness and quiet luxury that is inexpensive and therefore carefree.
Contemporary bag collection please x
Coach latest collection is an catching, some vlogers will definitely buy or try it….. it will definitely get views and likes. Coach has value to others 😊
As many others have said, buy and wear what you want and like! No need to explain it to anyone. I truly don’t get the reaction of folks being shocked or put off simply because you added a different brand to your collection. I’d love to see your contemporary collection!
thanks April!!! 🌸
Aww Jess, just buy what you like. Share it, and you don't have to explain! I love how you styled it, it's so you! ❤
I LOVE my Coach bags, they are amazing quality and very practical ❤️
Thanks Julia 🥰🥰🥰 good to hear!
“It’s raining. Who cares. I’ll throw on my coach bag!” I’m crying 😭.
OOo thanks for sharing your point of view! I would love another colour of the swing zip!! its a cutie!
For safety.
❤ I like your coach bag, Jess!
Please do a contemporary handbag collection ❤ I think people fall into 2 categories - the collector or the cost-per-wearer!
ooo true!!!
i buy lower end totes for work, I mistreat them and sometimes even put them down on wet ground. i also bought a clutch I can take out to the club and not care if someone spills a drink on it.
A true bag lover loves all bags not just Hermes. Not just a status bag.
Freedom. Enjoy easy life style. You don’t have to worry.
love this ! I just ordered the black one w
Take care. 😘💐
People need to understand that true handbag lovers will love bags regardless of the brand.
Just keep doing you and enjoy you bags!
yes give it a good think!! took me a few months to pull the trigger on the coach! ahha🌷
Crime has also gone up so I'm also weary of where I take my nicer bags.
hahahah yes!!! love how we are on the same page Clara !! 😻from bags to hello kitty!
I love my Coach bags!
I love mixing price ranges. My work bag is from French brand Merci and I love it! With that I sometimes wear my Picotin. It’s all about mixing and having fun 😘 I love that coach bag! I actually like it more than the Miu Miu once that are similar.
ooo yes!! haha i love the miu miu arcadia bag too😂
I love when an influencer loves both contemporary and luxury brands. It appeals to all kinds of people. Who doesn’t love a brand that is more affordable and beautiful??
Great video ❤
No bag should ever be on the floor though ..nowhere, not even at home.
🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing
You are the furthest thing from a snob Jess!!! We love you xxx
aw😍 sending the love back!
Buy what you want and like Jess. Who gives a 💩 what anyone thjnks 😊
You're a collector, that's ok and fun
Bugger what other people say. You buy what makes you happy and what you like. It's your money. I love watching your videos to see you and hear your news. You could open a crisp packet and have a chat about your day I'd be just as happy. 🤗🤗
HAhah!! love it!! Thanks for the support Sandra 🍟🤤
Buy What You Like Your The One Wearing It So As Long As Your Happy That's All That Matters ❤️
I have more coach than my hermes tbh. 😅also been using cheaper home brand bags because it fitted my lifestyle more to be honest. Doesn't matter what we carry as long as we are happy. 😅it's carefree and just easy to carry anywhere
indeed!! it is very freeing! 😍
Buy whatever bags you want and love ❤️ 😊!
coach is wonderful but who care if you are happy even who care
🤗
I think that it was a genius purchase! Not all bags need to be H. It’s good to own some “carefree” bags 😊 PS: Your hair looks amazing !!!!
ooo thankyou!! 💕
You made me love that bag. 😅 Gosh people are crazy.
When you see a fake bags over the world like birkin or Kelly from China you searche other brands more reels and not to much expensive
❤ well done!
💕
