This is certainly one of the best fake creepy messages I've ever seen. It's simple, eerie, and feels exactly like something you'd randomly get spooked by as a kid.
This looks so legit because this is really all that it takes to make good fake warnings/anti piracy vids like this. It doesn't require hyper realistic blood or the character model's eyes going black and jumpscaring you or the screen flashing "help" in a bright red font. Sometimes subtle is just better.

This sound. This sound is by far my scariest video game sound. I remember doing Wii fit yoga late at night, and an error with that same ‘beep bleep’ sound came on, and I JUMPED. That sound has always been my ‘red screen of death,’ or feared game error or warning.
I remember being extremely scared from Wii Fit as a whole as a kid. I liked the game but some sounds and the UI made me feel uneasy and scared. I couldn't play this game alone

It’s so weird because when I first got the game, I wasn't scared of any of it, and I COULD play alone, but when I was playing one night alone, and this error popped up, it felt like it changed EVERYTHING. I’d always be nervous when playing the game after that because I was always nervous about the ‘beep beep’ popping up again. It even made some of the stuff that wasn't scary before, like the “Measuring… Measuring…” super scary. For some reason, the piano that plays when BODY TEST pops up spooked me slightly. So did the “Replace batteries” from the board.

For some reason the icon of the trainer dizzy hanging against a wall is creepy by itself. But the second one is beyond scary, it has that shading of red with the black warning with the ⚠️ icon.
What makes this one so terrifying is that you can't read the red text against the black background very quickly, so you have to stare at the screen longer because you might instinctively read the white part first and have to go back. That extra time spent reading makes you feel more prone to a jumpscare and much more aware of the quiet around you. Extra scary if you're in a dark room playing by yourself.

I thought this was just gonna be the first warning and was actually real but then I questioned it when I noticed VHS copy effects were on it and then the black and red gave it all away
I always got a weird uncanny feeling playing the game. It was definitely fun but there was something kinda….off about it. Not like in a scary way but playing it did give me this weird feeling from the music and graphic style. Everything felt too sterile. Not to mention lotus focus always triggered my fight or flight sensations

The fact that it played the same error sound effect for when the Wii Remote’s batteries die makes it even more ominous to me. Honestly, this looks pretty realistic. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think this would be real!
Nice video! I think you shouldn't have used ntscqt on this one, though, it doesn't really fit with the time period. If you wanted to add visual artifacts, it would be better to try to make it look like it was recorded with an EasyCap, or some other cheap capture card.
There is a message that pops up during gameplay that plays this same noise and uses red text on a black background like this one, but that's just for when the wii remote battery is low.
Another suggestion similar to this is a screen on Tetris 64 (scrapped English build) which used a similar heart sensor, and could attempt to send an emergency message if a modem or broadband adapter is inserted, sending you to a later build of the N64 scrapped BIOS (Mario Beta Archive) with more simple apps, to do heart checks and/or call emergency services if possible.
@@awobbles9404 From what I found, it's a pulse oximeter that clips on to your ear lobe, and by some sources, it increases difficulty by sending 1-5 block pieces occasionally. No other game seems to support it, and it was only in Japan... as you'd expect.

This is great because often creators forget that messages like these themselves are inherintally scary. When I was little and I'd talk to Alexa when I had no internet I got petrified, I thought she was calling a monster/ robot army to assasinate me. Now I see the irony that I thought a 'No Internet' message would contact someone but still spooked me.

I’ve seen kids try to make these kinds of videos with the same boring format: gameplay, freeze frame, have a piracy screen/overheating screen in the wrong font with the character as a bloodthirsty demon, jumpscare you, put some Japanese text because why not - it makes it look better and creepier. my favorite part of the wii running game stuff was that i would just shake my wii remote and notnrun lol. i was more interested in the scenery.
This is a much better warning screen than anything else. No tricks, sounds, flair, it's simple and effective, just like if it were real.

I’ve seen kids try to make these kinds of videos with the same boring format: gameplay, freeze frame, have a piracy screen/overheating screen in the wrong font with the character as a bloodthirsty demon, jumpscare you, put some Japanese text because why not - it makes it look better and creepier.
But you’re videos are an example to what making this content should actually look like! Keep up the AWESOME work! 😁
