    1 tip on the cleaning of the spatula, if you just sit them flat on the griddle for like 20 seconds, anything on them starts to sizzle and would've killed any bacteria. Good job on cooking, looks good

    After looking at numerous hibachi recipes, loved the no nonsense easy instructions on this so decided to give it a try to celebrate my granddaughters birthday. It could not have turned out better, everyone was raving about it and I had a great time cooking it. For my meats I cooked chicken and steak and used the hibachi glaze. I got a little heavy handed with the sesame oil so my only recommendation for newbies like me, go easy on it and add more if necessary. Great job, great video, and love the dad jokes as a bonus...LOL.

      Sesame oil is like Old Spice after shave - a little goes a long way. 🤣🤣
      If you can find it, try toasted sesame oil. It's much more mellow.

    Hoisin sauce and lobster sauce are other options. I like a little green onion and green peas as garni in the rice. I might dice up a shrimp or two and some chicken for the rice as well - extra flavor. Nice job! Love my blackstone griddle - have a GMG smoker and a weber gas grill. Most cooking is done outside, unless it's really storming, and even then we might have something on the smoker grill.

    The rice doesn’t need to be spread on a sheet pan true, but it must be day old dried out rice or else it will clump too much or be too sticky. Too much moisture left in the rice will cause steaming, that’s the reasoning for day old rice.

    • @GrillThisSmokeThat
      @GrillThisSmokeThat  3 года назад

      About 5 hours time in the fridge allows it to dry out enough. I’ve done a variety of times.

    • @paradigmshift7541
      @paradigmshift7541 3 года назад

      @@GrillThisSmokeThat then that's good enough. I was only explaining why it is so commonly recommended for the rice to be laid out on a pan and to be day old--too much moisture in rice means steam effect, which inhibits frying and causes sogginess and mush. Since your rice was dry enough, it's perfectly fine.

    Great video. How many people does this feed? I've got a large family and I'm wondering if I should double up.

      I think this one fed three families of 4 but four were young children.

    What side table do you have? And are the drawers under the griddle part of the Blackstone? Go Dawgs! Thx!

      This is the 36” ProSeries. It comes with a side table on each side, two drawers, and a cabinet for the gas tank. The wood table you see is part of my Big Green Egg table I custom built for it.

    Excellent cooking with your fried rice except you add the sesame oil last because it burns fast. FIY japanese sesame oil is the best choice.

    What kind of steak is the one you used? Also, with what did you season it prior to putting it on the griddle?

    I tried to fried rice for the first time on my new Blackstone. It taste ok but not like Japanese restaurant. I used white rice that I cooked the night before. Should I have used Jasmine rice instead?

    How do you keep the steak from being so liquidy? My steak or chicken ends up cooking in a pile of meat juice.

    • @GrillThisSmokeThat
      @GrillThisSmokeThat  2 года назад

      I think that is a good thing. You can always move it to another area of the griddle if you need to. Chicken is often loaded with chicken broth by the packing companies so the liquid coming out is likely that.
