the top red, yellow, black wires are switched wires. not a direct dedicated ground. but then you should put in a winch to trailer chassis ground wire. not sure how your batt is wired but it also should be wired to chassis ground as well as directly to the winch. BUT. I would like to know if having the bolts on the bottom, holds under severe loads. as i see it to be a far stronger mount to have the bolts facing the load. AKA: the bolts just hold the winch, not get torqued trying to hold it down to a plate flat with the load. as the back two bolts are getting twisted and pulled up. while the front two are more of a compression twist load. think rolling the winch.

Yes, and it has a wireless transmitter that sends China everything you do with the winch. That's why the ground wire has to be in the right place, otherwise China won't let it work right.
